Jurnal ini adalah jurnal studi ilmu-ilmu Sosial humaniora dan pendidikan yang bersifat peer-review dan terbuka. <![CDATA[ABSTRACT New media encourages technological development, especially in the field of communication. Social media is known to continue to grow and have a good and bad impact on teenagers. The purpose of this study is to find out how social media can shape the identity of adolescents in society. Qualitative descriptive methods are used as methods of this research. This research uses symbiotic interaction theory and has data collection techniques, namely observation and literature review. The conclusions of the research and the data collection techniques used, it can be seen that what teenagers are currently displaying on social media is not the real self, but rather the result of self-construction that forms a new identity in front of social media users. It's good for today's teenagers to be more introspective in the use of social media, so that their views on a topic are not rigid but rather on considerations made so that the role of new media can be a positive thing. <![CDATA[Film relates to the identity of each person's character. Kya is the leading character in the film Where the Crawdads Sing. Homo Sacer describes the pejorative previous identity of a person who can be very influential in society. Where the Crawdads Sing was adapted from a novel by Delia Owens that raised a person's life who must be sacrificed as a suspect in a murder case. This film focuses on Kya who earned the nickname 'Marsh Girl' since she lived in a marsh that was so far from settlements. Kya almost never interacts with other people. She has been isolated since childhood, lives without a family, and supports herself alone. Thus, how is Homo Sacer illustrated in Kya on the film Where the Crawdads Sing? By using qualitative method, this article focuses on the character of Kya as a 'Marsh Girl' that is illustrated by the concept of Homo Sacer by Giorgio Agamben. Agamben describes how his ideas on sovereign power and bare life could help in understanding contemporary issues. In conclusion, this film depicts a person's character related to the concept of Homo Sacer viewed through Kya as the labelled character.]]>

<![CDATA[Irony is an act to say something other than literal meaning. Somehow, it is used to cover up the sadness experienced. The old man is a character in a short story entitled War written by Luigi Pirandello. In a conversation in the Night Express, so many people talked about their sadness that nothing could cheer them up. Then, an old man came and told them that they should not be sad for their son who died. Actually, the old man feels the same sadness but he would never want to show it off to others. Then, how is the implementation of irony of the old man indicated on Luigi Pirandello’s War? Through qualitative method, this writing underlines irony as the way the old man covered the sadness he experienced when he lost his son. Supported by theory of Ronald Tanaka, the implementation of the irony of the old man is seen when he spoke a lot to cover his grief. He said that their sons are on their own and belong to the state when they grew up. Then, they should also be proud of their son because they are the heroes of country. In conclusion, the old man covered up his sadness by complimenting others’ son. Meanwhile, the irony is his son as a hero is also included in his saying.]]>

<![CDATA[This study focused specifically on analyzing personality traits of Matthew Logelin in the Fatherhood film. Personality traits are aspects of a person's character that reveal how they think, act, and feel. The data's source is the film Fatherhood, and it is taken from the scenes and dialogues of the film. To examine the findings, the author used the qualitative approach and the personality characteristic theory of Paul Costa and Robert McCrae. According to the study's findings, Matthew Logelin's personality is characterized by high neuroticism, such as being moody, irritable, and worrying.]]>

<![CDATA[All languages have idioms. Idioms define as phrases or chunks which are identified as fixed expressions with a non-literal interpretation. In addition to its non-literal interpretation, some strategies are provided in order to be successfully render the messages into a target language. Thus, this research focuses on revealing (1) the classification of idioms proposed by Glucksberg (2001) and (2) the translation strategies of the idioms proposed by Baker (2018) from English into Indonesian in a series movie entitled “The Recruit” with 8 episodes. To reach the objectives, qualitative descriptive method is applied. The results show that there are 37 idioms found in 8 episodes. The revealing consists of 7 non-compositional idioms, 21 compositional transparent idioms, 5 compositional opaque idioms, and 4 quasi-metaphorical idioms are found. Further, the translation strategies used by the subtitler to translate the idioms from English into Indonesian based on Baker (2018) reveal that two (2) data that are translated using the strategy to translate the English idioms into idioms in Indonesian and 30 data that are translated using the paraphrase strategy from English into Indonesian. Moreover, there are five (5) idioms that are translated literally.]]>

<![CDATA[The purpose of this research was to find out the role of photography as a medium of visual communication in wedding photography. The method used qualitative methods by observing and interviewing the founder, chairman and members of the Hallucination Photo community. This study used Kendall Walton's transparency theory. Based on the results of observations and interviews, the researcher concluded that there were many genres in wedding photography. Photography as a visual communication medium in wedding photography has a role in conveying effective and informative meanings or messages through a photo medium by capturing various moments to be immortalized using a tool, namely a camera.]]>

<![CDATA[Online learning is an alternative form of learning to overcome challenges in the world of education, which will produce different levels of effectiveness for students due to various factors, both internal and external. The purpose of this study was to empirically examine the relationship between adversity quotient and self-directed learning in students who study daring. The participants of this study were 120 students studying daring. Simple regression analysis was used as a data analysis technique in this study. The results of this study showed a significant correlation of 0.584. The higher the adversity quotient, the higher the self-directed learning in students who learn daring, and vice versa, the lower the adversity quotient, the lower the self-directed learning in students who does online learning.]]>

<![CDATA[This article discusses the ability to write verses of the Qur'an for MAN Palopo students. This type of research is education and development, Research & Development (R&D). The subjects of this study were 29 students of MAN Palopo. Data collection techniques in this study consisted of observation, questionnaires, tests and documentation. The results of the study show that the resulting teaching materials are feasible to use. Feasibility indicators meet valid and effective standards. The validity score based on the expert validator's assessment generally obtained a value of 0.67 (Valid), which can be used in learning. Effectiveness based on the N-gain test obtained a value of 0.52 included in the medium category with an increase in the pre-test score of 67.03 to the post-test value of 84.17.]]>

<![CDATA[Interpersonal communication is needed between coaches and athletes with disabilities in order to create an approach that is expected to foster motivation to practice. In addition, the training also provides non-technical guidance to train athletes with mental disabilities so that athletes have a sense of self-confidence and achievement. The purpose of this study was to determine interpersonal communication between coaches and table tennis athletes with disabilities and their implementation in growing self-confidence and achievement between coaches and table tennis with disabilities NPCI DKI Jakarta. The method used in this study uses a qualitative approach by conducting a descriptive study on the object. The paradigm used in this research is using constructivism paradigm. Data processing techniques through interviews and observations. Based on the discussion, the relationship that exists between coaches and athletes with disabilities has a stage to foster trust between coaches and table athletes with disabilities at NPCI DKI Jakarta. Trust that grows between individuals gives birth to a motivation that results in achievements for NPCI DKI Jakarta athletes.]]>

<![CDATA[The purpose of this study was to find out how to plan a communication program through an collaboration educational institutions with conventional media (radio). The theory this study is symbolic interaction, Mead with the communication program planning model, Smith. and the concept of Skill and Knowledge. The methodology is qualitative. Based on the results of research through observation, documentation and interviews, the concluded is the internship program carried out by Gunadarma students was successful in going through several stages, namely the situation analysis stage - target setting - strategy design - tactic selection - action plan - control and monitoring and evaluation.
