Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of work-life balance and work motivation on the quality of work life (QWL) among single mothers working in multinational Public Relations (PR) agencies in South Jakarta. The participants were 20 single working mothers who had been employed for over one year, selected through purposive sampling. A quantitative correlational approach was employed using Likert-scale questionnaires. Pearson correlation and multiple regression analysis revealed that both work-life balance and work motivation were positively and significantly correlated with quality of work life. These findings suggest that a better balance between work and personal life and stronger work motivation contribute to a higher quality of work life for single mothers in high-pressure professional settings.

Abstract

This study investigates the translation of rhetorical repetition devices in the tale Babbity Rabbity and Her Cackling Stump by J.K. Rowling, and its Indonesian version Babbity Rabbity dan Tunggul Terbahak, using Chesterman’s scheme change strategy. The aims of this research are to identify the types of rhetorical repetition used and to examine how they are translated from English into Indonesian. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method, with data collected from both the source and target texts. Purposeful random sampling was used to analyze representative data from each category. Thirteen instances of rhetorical repetition were found and categorized into four scheme change strategies: ST scheme X → TT scheme X, ST scheme X → TT scheme Y, ST scheme X → TT scheme Ø, and ST scheme Ø → TT scheme X. The analysis reveals that all four strategies were applied, with most data preserving the same rhetorical scheme in translation. Some examples also exhibited multi-layered repetition, combining more than one rhetorical feature such as parallelism, end rhyme, and alliteration. This study contributes to the field of literary translation by highlighting the stylistic challenges involved in translating rhetorical features, and may serve as a reference for translators or scholars interested in stylistic equivalence in translation.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of moral values in everyday life. Moral values aim to shape human character or morals into a good person. This study aims to describe the moral values contained in the novel Ning Anak Wayang by Niken and Anjar study: Sociology of Literature. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method. The results of this study indicate that researchers use the theory according to Wicaksono (2014: 276-281) which states that moral values consist of several sub-values, namely: the relationship between humans and their God, the relationship between humans and themselves, and the relationship between humans and other humans in the social sphere.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of Tax Volunteers for the Country in the implementation of the Renjani program reviewed through Strategic Communication and diffusion of innovation. Used Qualitative methodology with a constructivist paradigm. The results of the study indicate that the role of Tax Volunteers for the Country (Renjani) is something valuable for individuals who care about national development through tax contributions.  Members will be part of community involvement efforts through various activities, such as assistance in reporting Annual Tax Returns, tax public relations activities, and other related activities. Reviewed through Strategic Communication, it can be clearly seen through the elements of Purposeful Communication, Audience-centered, Message Consistency, Organizational Alignment, and Long-term Orientation. Reviewed through  diffusion of innovation, it can be seen through the elements of Innovation, Communication channels, and Social systems.

Abstract

The presence of social media encourages users to be more active in interacting and voicing opinions related to news that is in the spotlight. One notable example is the Makan Bergizi Gratis (MBG) program. The purpose of this study is to identify the social networks formed in the conversations of social media users discussing the Makan Bergizi Gratis (MBG) program. A quantitative approach using the Social Network Analysis (SNA) method was employed to address the research question. The findings indicate that social networks on social media X specifically discuss this program. Geraldd434543 and GenZNusantara are the primary actors with the highest degree of centrality and eigenvector centrality values in the network. A total of 297 nodes demonstrate a closeness centrality value, indicating that these actors are closely connected within the network. The network lacks actors who serve as brokers or intermediaries, based on the centrality values observed.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pandangan perempuan etnis Batak Toba dalam menghadapi perkawinan pariban di Kota Medan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif, dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi. Data dianalisis menggunakan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perempuan Batak Toba di Kota Medan memiliki pandangan yang bervariasi, namun mayoritas cenderung menolak atau bersikap kritis terhadap tradisi perkawinan pariban. Pandangan ini dipengaruhi oleh pandangan kritis terhadap relevansi tradisi perkawinan pariban di era modern, pengaruh pendidikan, dan lingkungan kota, serta sikap keluarga inti yang cenderung moderat.

Abstract

This study seeks to explore students’ perceptions of interfaith tolerance within campus life, with a particular focus on second-semester students at Bhakti Kartini Polytechnic. Campus life is often regarded as a microcosm of a multicultural society and thus serves as a strategic arena for nurturing values of tolerance and interreligious harmony. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through questionnaires and semi-structured interviews with 20 respondents representing diverse religious backgrounds. The findings reveal that students generally hold a positive perception of tolerance, viewing it as a fundamental principle for fostering peaceful and harmonious interactions on campus. These results are consistent with previous research, which underscores the significant role of tolerance education in shaping inclusive, cohesive, and productive social environments.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the social critique embedded in the lyrics of the songs “Dalam Hitungan,” “Tarian Penghancur Raya,” and “Peradaban” by the band .Feast. These songs were selected because they contain elements of social criticism that reflect the societal realities. The research uses a literary sociology approach with two main theories: Strata Norma Roman Ingarden theory which consists of five strata (layers) of norms: the sound layer, the meaning layer, the object layer, the world layer, and the metaphysical layer to analyze the structural elements of the song lyrics , and Georg Lukács’ socialist realism theory to explore the social critique embedded within the lyrics. The research method employed is library research with a qualitative descriptive analysis, where data is obtained from the song lyrics and analyzed using the relevant theories. The findings indicate that these three songs critique various social issues such as materialism, the technological advancement that erodes spiritual values, and the injustices occurring in society. The social critique expressed through the lyrics is not only explicit but also reflected in the symbolism of sound and the deep use of language. This study is expected to contribute to the development of literary studies, especially in understanding how musical works, particularly song lyrics, can serve as effective media for social critique. Furthermore, this research reveals the relevance of literary sociology in analyzing art that contains critiques of social phenomena.

Abstract

In terms of global distribution, English is the most frequently spoken language. Therefore, in order to communicate at an international level, the student's communication abilities are required. There are numerous approaches to improve language skills, each with its own distinct set of characteristics. The development of music streaming apps such as Spotify ushered in a new way of listening to music. Daniel Ek and Martin Lorentzon founded Spotify in 2008. Spotify was called after a sentence that Ek and Lorentzon randomly blurted. Ek misheard the phrase "Spotify," and they assume the name is a play on "spot" and "identify". Spotify is a music and audio streaming service that offers copyrighted songs and podcasts. Spotify, as well as other English courses, were extremely effective in enhancing students' listening skills. This study can be used with other multimedia to enhance students' listening abilities. The goal of this research was to investigate students' perceptions of Spotify. Abstract

This study examines the influence of students’ attitudes toward teachers’ performance and learning motivation on learning achievement in social studies among high school students. A quantitative survey approach was employed to explore how internal and external motivational factors, together with perceptions of teacher competence, contribute to academic success. Data were collected through structured questionnaires using a Likert scale and analyzed with multiple linear regression. The findings indicate that both students’ attitudes toward teachers’ performance and their learning motivation positively and significantly affect learning achievement. These results emphasize the crucial role of teachers in creating engaging learning experiences and highlight motivation as a driving force that enhances students’ performance. The study provides insights for educators and policymakers to develop strategies that foster a supportive learning environment and improve students’ academic outcomes.
