Abstract

This Community Service Program (KKN) was implemented as an effort to address the health and environmental risks associated with the use of chemical-based dishwashing soap. The program’s lack of knowledge and skills in making natural household products among women underpins the program’s implementation. The goal was to raise awareness and empower women through training in making environmentally friendly dishwashing soap. The program was conducted at the Women’s Witness Building and included outreach, demonstrations, hands-on practice, discussions, and the sharing of results. During the workshop, participants were taught how to make soap using simple ingredients such as baking soda, liquid soap, water, and the addition of glycerin, dyes, and fragrances. The results demonstrated high enthusiasm from the participants, reflected in their active involvement during the workshop and their understanding of the benefits of natural products. This activity not only improved the women’s skills but also encouraged a frugal, healthy, and environmentally conscious lifestyle.

Abstract

This community service activity was carried out among the members of the Sakinah Tailors' social gathering in the Kampung Bali sub-district of Sungai Serut, Bengkulu City. The members of the Sakinah Tailors' social gathering have the potential to grow because the members or partners already have sewing skills or their own sewing businesses. This is a supporting factor in developing a cooperative. However, they are constrained by limited knowledge about the procedures for forming a cooperative, capital, and how to prepare cooperative financial reports. So far, the members of the Penjahit Sakinah sewing circle have been carrying out savings and loan activities, but the administrators still carry out savings and loan activities in a conventional manner, so they want to form a sharia savings and loan cooperative. Therefore, the Community Service Team from the Faculty of Economics and Business wants to conduct socialization and assistance activities for the formation of a sharia-based savings and loan cooperative. The method used is through direct socialization and assistance activities using the Excel application, followed by posting, adjusting journals, and reporting activities.

Abstract

This community service project aims to enhance Sunday School teachers’ ability to use digital media as a tool for children’s faith formation in local churches. The rapid development of information technology requires churches to adapt their educational ministries, including children’s spiritual learning. The training was conducted at the Christian Evangelical Church in Timor (GMIT) Sion Noelbaki Congregation, involving 25 Sunday School teachers. The implementation methods included needs observation, interactive workshops, practical sessions on creating digital Bible content, and direct mentoring in using media such as spiritual videos, PowerPoint, and online platforms (YouTube, Canva, and WhatsApp Groups). Evaluation was carried out through pretest-posttest and participant satisfaction questionnaires. The results showed a 78% increase in teachers’ competence in using digital media after the training. Participants also demonstrated high enthusiasm and commitment to applying digital media in their children’s ministry. This activity had a positive impact on improving the quality of faith education, making Sunday School learning more engaging, contextual, and relevant to children’s lives in the digital era.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the problem of the lack of community participation in developing marine ritual traditions, as well as the limited sources that prove the importance of the annual marine ritual. This type of research is historical research with a qualitative approach and descriptive narrative method. This research includes heuristics, source criticism, interpretation, and writing stages. Data sources used include journals discussing marine ritual traditions in Pelanduk Village, Mandah District, as well as annual observations before the month of Muharram, in-depth interviews with people in charge of marine rituals, and literature studies. The marine ritual tradition in Pelanduk Village is a cultural heritage passed down from generation to generation by coastal communities in Mandah District, Riau Province. This ritual is carried out as an expression of gratitude to God Almighty and respect for the sea as a source of life. This study aims to explore the history, implementation process, meaning, and role of marine ritual traditions in the lives of local communities. The results show that marine rituals contain strong spiritual, social, and ecological values. This ritual involves various cultural symbols, such as offerings, collective prayers, and traditional ceremonies that reflect the harmonious relationship between humans and nature. This study concludes that sea rituals are a cultural heritage that strengthens the identity of coastal communities.

Abstract

Mental toughness training is an important requirement for young Petanque athletes, given that this sport demands high concentration, emotional stability, and the ability to respond quickly and appropriately to competitive pressure. This community service program aims to improve the psychological abilities of young athletes through training focused on anxiety management, strengthening focus, developing a positive mindset, and increasing self-confidence. The training method was conducted classically through the delivery of material and direct practice designed according to the psychological needs of FOPI East Java athletes. The evaluation of the training results showed an increase in mental toughness, reflected in the athletes' ability to cope with the pressure of competition, maintain calm, and maintain concentration in competitive situations. The athletes also showed an increase in mental preparedness, a more stable response to pressure, and a more positive mindset towards their abilities. These results indicate that psychological intervention through mental resilience training plays an important role in supporting the performance of Petanque athletes, while also serving as the basis for the development of follow-up programs that focus on mental aspects as an integral part of performance development. This program makes a significant contribution to the character building and competitive readiness of young athletes on an ongoing basis.
