Character education is an important effort in instilling moral and ethical values in the personality of learners, not only within the scope of school but also at home and society. In Indonesia, its implementation is faced with various challenges, including gaps in teachers' understanding, lack of resources, and student behavior that shows non-compliance with character values. Nonetheless, character education brings great opportunities in shaping individuals who are moral, responsible and have an awareness of the importance of tolerance and cooperation in society. Joint efforts between educators, parents and communities as well as strong policy support are needed to overcome barriers and strengthen character education to create an educational environment that supports the moral and ethical growth of Indonesia's young people.

Social media has become an integral part of the educational life of higher education students in Indonesia. Its use provides a variety of benefits, ranging from facilitating access to information, collaboration between students, to facilitating the exchange of ideas. However, in the perfection of its benefits, social media also poses serious challenges related to digital ethics, including the problem of cyberbullying, the spread of hoaxes, and privacy violations. Research on the impact of social media use shows a significant influence on learners' behaviour and achievement, both positive and negative. The importance of paying attention to how learners interact, manage content, and their adherence to digital ethics rules and norms is highlighted. Through an in-depth understanding of the usage patterns and impact of social media on students' ethics, this research aims to provide important insights for students, lecturers, and educational policy makers. It is hoped that the results of this research will not only provide a foundation for responsible policies on social media use in educational settings, but also trigger students' awareness of the impact of their online behaviour on the real world.

The global appreciation for graduates possessing strong soft skills is evident, especially in the evolving nature of the engineering workplace. However, studies across the world highlighted a disconnect between employers’ expectations and the soft skills of entry-level engineers, impacting their employability. This research evaluated the Rwanda Polytechnic graduates’ self-assessment regarding the application of soft skills in the workplace. A survey on 107 graduates, after piloting soft skills and career development training, utilized a semi-structured questionnaire with a 5-point Likert scale and open-ended questions. Data analysis included descriptive statistics, graphs, and thematic analysis. The results indicated that graduates attested a high application of professional ethics and time management skills (M=4.38, SD=0.66) and communication skills (M=4.29, SD=0.70). On the other hand, professional writing, management, leadership skills, and interpersonal abilities scored a moderate level of application (3.41

This study examined the correlation between food security and sustainable development in the context of poverty alleviation through sustainable agriculture. Employing a qualitative approach, this study evaluated the effectiveness of sustainable agricultural practices in improving food security in poverty-prone areas. The data were collected from various sources, including interviews with farmers and secondary data analysis from government reports and international organizations. The study found that the adoption of sustainable agricultural practices such as organic farming systems, crop rotation, and the use of environmentally friendly technologies had a significant positive impact on agricultural productivity. This, in turn, leads to increased income for farmers and greater food availability, ultimately reducing poverty levels. Additionally, this study reveals that government policies and infrastructure support play a crucial role in facilitating the transition to sustainable agriculture. This study offers new insights into the significance of synergies between food security and sustainable development, and their contribution to poverty alleviation strategies. The results indicate the need for more comprehensive policies and a holistic approach when designing agricultural development programs. These programs should not only focus on production but also on social, economic, and environmental aspects.

Retribution serves as a pivotal source of revenue for the State, distinguishing itself from taxes through the provision of a direct reciprocal value to the payer. In essence, individuals or entities paying retribution receive a tangible benefit or service in return, a concept fundamentally different from the general revenue-generating nature of taxes. This study adopts a descriptive qualitative approach to explore the dynamics of retribution and its impact on the revenue generation of Gorontalo City. Utilizing financial data specific to this locale, the research zeroes in on the local government of Gorontalo City as its primary sample, employing documentation methods to collect and analyze data. The analysis process encompasses verification, categorization, in-depth analysis, and meticulous organization of data to identify strategic issues and opportunities. The study further integrates SWOT analysis as a strategic tool to outline the current landscape and pinpoint areas for improvement. A key recommendation emerging from this research is the imperative for relevant local government units, specifically the Regional Work Unit (RWU), to enhance the management, supervision, and provision of guidance related to local retribution payments. By doing so, Gorontalo City can significantly improve the efficiency of its retribution collection processes, thereby fostering sustainable growth in local revenue streams. This comprehensive approach not only aims at optimizing current operations but also at securing long-term financial stability for the region through improved retribution management practices.

This study delves into the procedures and regulatory frameworks governing PKWT, alongside scrutinizing the oversight mechanisms in place to ensure adherence to labor laws, safeguard worker rights, and maintain a balance between employer interests and employee protections. Through empirical legal research, involving interviews, document analysis, and a thorough review of legal statutes, the study unveils the intricacies of PKWT registration at the Makassar City Labor Office and assesses the effectiveness of labor oversight practices. Findings reveal that the registration process for PKWT, whether conducted online within three days or offline within seven days post-signing, necessitates the submission of specific documents to ensure legal and administrative compliance. This mechanism not only provides clarity and accountability but also serves as a foundational aspect of labor law enforcement. However, the research identifies a gap in the legal framework concerning sanctions for non-registration of PKWTs, underscoring a potential area for legislative enhancement to reinforce worker protections. The study further examines the role of labor oversight, conducted by the Makassar City Employment Office and other relevant bodies, in maintaining a fair, transparent, and regulated employment landscape. It categorizes oversight into preventive and repressive measures, each playing a critical role in promoting compliance with labor regulations and safeguarding worker rights. Despite the proactive efforts in education and socialization to foster compliance, limitations in authority at the city level underscore the necessity for coordinated efforts with provincial labor authorities to bolster oversight efficacy.
