Abstract

Thematic learning in elementary schools is conducted by integrating several subjects or basic competencies through specific themes/topics. Thematic learning in elementary schools plays a crucial role in facilitating more meaningful learning for students according to their developmental levels and needs. This study employs a qualitative approach with a literature review (library research) design. The data collection technique applied was documentation, where data were obtained from various written sources, such as notes, books, journals, and other relevant documents. Meanwhile, to analyze the data, the researcher used content analysis to explore and interpret the meaning of the examined material. The results indicate that thematic learning, conceptually, aims to develop students' cognitive, affective, and psychomotor abilities in a balanced manner through authentic learning activities based on real-life contexts in their surroundings. Thus, thematic learning in elementary schools can provide more meaningful and experiential learning for students.

Abstract

The English language course in vocational high schools proficiency is a requirement for hospitality employees to serve international guests. Therefore, it is necessary to provide (SMK) with a hospitality major is essential, as English English materials that are relevant to the development of the hospitality industry. This study aims to develop English instructional materials for hospitality students based on the Kurikulum Merdeka at SMK PGRI 1 Ngawi. The research method employed is Research and Development (R&D) using the ADDIE model, which consists of five stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The participants in this study were 34 tenth-grade hospitality students at SMK PGRI 1 Ngawi. The results of the study produced an English module relevant to the hospitality industry. Furthermore, the developed English module was shown to increase students' motivation and competency in the learning process

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of learning strategies and cognitive styles on science learning outcomes for fifth graders in elementary schools. This study uses an experimental method with a quantitative approach. The population and sample use purposive sampling, which is divided into an experimental class and a control class. Data analysis uses two-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) followed by the Tukey test at a significance level of ά = 0.05. The findings in this study are: (1) SPD are higher than learning using SPE. (2) There is an interaction between learning strategies and cognitive styles on science learning outcomes. (3) The results of the Tukey test show that the science learning outcomes of students taught using SPD are higher than those using SPE. (4) The results of the Tukey test show that the science learning outcomes of students with a FI cognitive style are higher than those with a FD cognitive style. (5) The results of the Tukey test show that the science learning outcomes of students with a FI cognitive style who are taught using SPD are higher than those taught using SPE. (6) Tukey Test results show that the science learning outcomes of students with a FD cognitive style who are taught using an SPE are higher than those taught using an SPD.

Abstract

This article examines the Islamic education system during the Mamluk and Ottoman dynasties through a historical approach and analyzed from a Religious Education perspective. The study focuses on the context in which the two dynasties emerged, their educational institutional systems, the characteristics of their curricula, and the relationship between education, society, and religious authority. Data were obtained through a literature review and historical analysis of classical and contemporary literature. The results indicate that the Mamluks played a crucial role in rebuilding the structure of Islamic scholarship following the devastation of the Mongol invasion, while the Ottomans expanded and modernized the education system with a more organized institutional model. This study provides implications for the transition of Islamic education from a spiritualization based on mosques, madrasas,and khanqahs to the institutionalization of formal education with a hierarchical structure.

Abstract

This article seeks to conduct an in-depth reading of the book Fathul Arifin within the field of Sufism, particularly in relation to the Qadiriyah wa Naqshabandiyah Order. The Qadiriyah wa Naqshabandiyah Order has a noble objective, namely to cultivate the human soul so that it constantly remembers Allah through acts of dhikr and the practice of Allah’s commands contained within those remembrances. Likewise, the tarekat emphasizes continuous remembrance of Allah, both in movement and in stillness, so that a Sufi feels perpetually under the supervision of Allah SWT. Over time, the use of Fathul Arifin has experienced a decline in interest as a reference for worship and righteous deeds, due to the easy accessibility of instant literacy sources, especially through the internet and social media. This research aims to restore the aura of classical texts through an in-depth study of Fathul Arifin, integrated with the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) curriculum at the junior secondary school level (SMP/MTs), in order to identify points of relevance so that Fathul Arifin can be used as a reference for learning. The research method employed is library research using a textual criticism (textology) approach. Textology is a discipline that studies the content written within manuscripts. The manuscript examined in this study is Fathul Arifin by Shaykh Khatib Sambas. The results of this study indicate that there is relevance between the SMP/MTs PAI curriculum and the Qadiriyah wa Naqshabandiyah Order in a small portion of the PAI content. Although only a limited part is directly relevant between Fathul Arifin and the PAI curriculum, intersections and alignments can still be found in terms of intentions and objectives contained in both the SMP/MTs PAI curriculum and the book Fathul Arifin.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the practice of sincerity, discipline, and educational leadership in the Qur’anic learning activities led by Bapak Ali Ahsan in Dukuh Tanggulangin, Jati Wetan Village, Jati District, Kudus Regency. Community-based religious education plays a strategic role in shaping character, morality, and religious culture within society. This research employed a qualitative approach using a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation, and analyzed using interactive data analysis techniques, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that teacher sincerity serves as the primary foundation for building emotional bonds with students, discipline is implemented through role modeling and habituation, and value-based leadership contributes significantly to character formation and community participation. The educational practices not only improve students’ Qur’anic literacy but also foster responsibility and social solidarity. Therefore, community-based religious education represents a relevant model for educational and social development in contemporary contexts.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the strategies and roles of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in shaping the character of prayer (salat) and fasting (puasa) among students at SMP Islam Terpadu Insan Qur’ani Poncowarno. This research employs a qualitative approach with anethnographic method. The research subjects were selected using purposive sampling, with the PAI teacher as the primary informant, while students and school documents served as supporting informants. Data collection techniques included participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data analysis followed the Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña model, which involves data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that PAI teachers implement three main strategies in shaping students’ worship character. First, the habituation strategy through the regular implementation of midday congregational prayers every day. Second, the role-modeling strategy demonstrated by teachers through their daily religious behavior. Third, the guided worship practice strategy that provides students with direct learning experiences. Additionally, the school supports these efforts through various religious programs, including regular religious guidance, Ramadan pesantren kilat (intensive Islamic boarding school program), and worship monitoring through daily worship logbooks. In this process, PAI teachers simultaneously act as educators, mentors, motivators, and role models. This study concludes that the formation of worship character isnot solely derived from formal programs but is shaped through a living religious culture embedded in the daily interactions between teachers and students. The transformation from external compliance to internal awareness serves as an indicator of successful character education. This study recommends that future researchers conduct comparative studies across educational institutions, employ quantitative or mixed-method approaches, and expand the focus to include other stakeholders such as parents and school principals.
