Abstract

This study analyzes the development of the halal food industry in Bangka Belitung Island. Development is measured by innovation strategy, product strategy, promotion strategy, pricing strategy, and collusion strategy. The data used are primary data obtained from in-depth interviews with five experts and practitioners with competent considerations in the field of the halal food industry—the analysis technique applying the Analytic Network Process. The findings indicated that the most superior aspects in the behavioral cluster are innovation strategy, product strategy, promotion strategy, price strategy, and collusion strategy. Meanwhile, the result from the benefit, cost, opportunity, risk (BOCR) cluster, the order of aspects that best describes the condition of the halal food industry in Bangka Belitung, is an opportunity, benefit, cost, risk. It is hoped that there will be a joint commitment from policy-makers in supporting and encouraging efforts to develop the halal food industry in Indonesia. It is expected that industry agents can further optimize industrial behavior, especially promotion and collaboration strategies.

Abstract

Increasing imports of rubber products from Indonesia is the key to the success of the downstream policy of rubber products to gain added value and job opportunities in the country. The rubber product market in ASEAN is more dynamic, and Indonesia must focus on strengthening competitiveness and exploiting potential markets. This paper aims to describe the potential demand for imports of Indonesian rubber products in ASEAN countries, especially Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines, and Vietnam. The flow of imports of rubber products uses the stochastic frontier panel data model to determine the potential demand for imports of Indonesian rubber products. Indonesian rubber products compete fiercely with similar industries in importing and exporting countries from East Asia. Indonesia mostly exports rubber products with HS codes 4015 and 4016 in the form of gloves, mittens, and mitts, rubber cellular, floor coverings and mats, erasers, gaskets and rings, boats, and fender docks to all markets in ASEAN countries. They were followed by rubber products with HS code 4010 in the form of conveyor belts or transmission belts from vulcanized rubber. The potential for import demand for other types of Indonesian rubber products (code HS4014, 4009, 4008) in ASEAN countries is relatively small and is growing slowly. Overall, the potential demand for imports of Indonesian rubber products tends to decline in ASEAN countries, as well as the actual imports of rubber products from Indonesia compared to their potential, which also declines slowly.

Abstract

The article presents the results of the medium-term forecast of income asymmetry of the population of Ukraine. Of the set of special research methods, statistical analysis was used. The initial information for the forecast was the official statistical data, namely: the income of the population of Ukraine in the dynamics by the type of economic activity and in the regional section over the past ten years. Construction of the forecast of the income and the definition of asymmetry was carried out based on the generalization of homogeneous phenomenons (million UAH and ten years). The average values were used to compare the obtained results, summarizing the characteristics of mass, qualitatively homogeneous socio-economic phenomenons, which scientifically predicted the main prospects. The results show a steady trend in the asymmetry of income asymmetry in Ukraine (both by type of economic activity and region), which will remain until 2024. In addition, it is found that Luhansk and Donetsk regions and the indicator (property income received) require additional research by surveying to establish the key risk factors.

Abstract

This study explores the asymmetric effect on the rupiah exchange rate on every subsector agriculture export in Indonesia during 2006-2020. The non-linear ARDL method is used in this study to analyze the asymmetric relationship between exchange rate and export. NARDL method includes short-run and long-run coefficient estimates and embraces the asymmetric effect. The previous studies generally used the linear models on the aggregated data and ignored the differences in each export of the agricultural sub-sector, then they offered ambiguous results. The latest studies have preferred to use the method of NARDL on the agricultural sector in general data. Instead of using agricultural export data for each subsector, this paper considers subsector export data of agriculture. The estimated NARDL results indicate an asymmetric effect of the rupiah exchange rate on exports of the agricultural sub-sector in the long run. In general, there is no asymmetric effect in the short run. Generally, depreciation and appreciation of the Rupiah have a negative effect on exports of the agricultural sub-sector in the long run. However, rupiah appreciation positively impacts lag 2, and depreciation caused a different effect on each sub-sector. The NARDL results suggest that positive movements have lesser impacts than those of negative movements in the exchange rate on the agriculture sector both in the short and long run

Abstract

Branding is among the activities that seek new ways to balance competition in the business environment to sustain organizational competitive advantage. Hence, this study aims to identify how the concept has been considered in the literature and its evolution in the marketing literature. To achieve the objectives of the systematic study review was conducted from 2010 to 2021 years and identified 98 articles. The collected data were documented in Microsoft Word and retained in Mendeley referencing software. The study revealed that brand and product management lacks conceptual clarity, which influences their measurement and subsequently their management. The review also demonstrates as economic, identity, consumer-based, personality, relational, community, cultural, and sensory approaches, respectively, are the respective evolutions of the concepts.

Abstract

Improving community economic well-being based on community empowerment plays an important role in rural development. This study aims to determine the ability of social enterprises in Indonesia (Village-Owned Enterprises/BUMDes) to improve the community's economic well-being through empowerment programs and the role of social capital in rural community development. At social conditions at the basic level, very little attention is paid to the development of deprived communities. Starting from the experience of rural community economic empowerment programs through the establishment of Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) in Indonesia, this study will test three hypotheses: (1) whether there is an effect between community empowerment and the economic well-being of rural communities; (2) is there an effect between social capital and the economic well-being of rural communities; and (3) is the effect between community empowerment and economic well-being mediated by social capital? Multiple regression analysis is used to examine the effect between community empowerment and community economic well-being. This analysis highlights the central role of social capital in mediating the effect between community empowerment and economic well-being. Community empowerment is significantly related to social capital. These effects between social capital, community empowerment, and economic well-being apply to theories and measures of rural community empowerment.

Abstract

The Kampung Marketer program is a youth empowerment program specializing in digital marketing. The basic needs approach is used to evaluate community development. This approach states that it is necessary to have greater job opportunities, increase economic growth, and guarantee the community's basic needs for a better quality of life. This research aims to determine how digital roles are implemented in people-centered development and measure its impact with the basic needs approach. A qualitative approach uses a triangulation model that combines in-depth interviews, observations, and documents from Kampung Marketers. From the research results, it was found that digital resources aided people-centered development by increasing employment opportunities. In the 18 existing branches, the Kampung Marketer Program has accumulated 700 customer service and advertising skills. As a result of the program, the economic growth of communities with Kampung Marketer programs had increased, as indicated by the amount of income received by the empowered community of around IDR 1,000,000 to IDR 3,000,000 and the total income that was distributed being 1.3 billion. It impacts meeting the basic needs of society and increasing the younger generation's enthusiasm for continuing their studies. The members of Kampung Marketer also could now pay for their children's tuition and even bought houses and land. The older generation who did not have technological skills were also supported and empowered by the program by establishing a business called "Saung Makaryo." They were trained to produce goods in their respective homes, and Kampung Marketers marketed them.

Abstract

Globalization and liberalization increasingly provide opportunities for each country to increase regional and global cooperation. Socio-economic integration is also increasing, along with community cooperation in the regional and global scope. This study aims to determine the effect of remittances and other macroeconomic variables such as FDI, inflation, and export-import on GDP per capita in ASEAN 6 countries. The panel data analysis method used is regression using panel data sourced from the World Bank and ASEAN datasets in the form of annual data. The estimation results from FEM found that exports and remittances showed a significant positive effect on GDP per capita in ASEAN 6. In addition, imports showed a significant negative effect on GDP per capita in ASEAN 6. Meanwhile, several macroeconomic variables that were not significant were FDI, which showed a significant negative effect. Positive but not significant, inflation has a negative but not significant effect on GDP per capita in ASEAN 6. The emphasis on the positive effect of remittances on GDP per capita proves that the flow of remittances into developing countries will help increase income per capita. Vice versa, a crisis that hinders the increase in the enthusiasm of emigrants. The COVID-19 pandemic delays the emigrant's production activities and increases that will hinder the flow of remittances into the country of origin, such as in ASEAN 6 countries.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the management of village funds and village finances, as well as the inhibiting factors in the management of village funds and village finances. The data was obtained from informants at the research site (Harapan Makmur Village, East Tanjung Jabung Regency, Jambi Province). Data collection is carried out by triangulation in interview observations, literature, and documentation. Data analysis used a qualitative approach based on the NVivo 12 Plus program. The results showed that the management of village funds started early in the planning stage by identifying and selecting programs or activities that were urgent and prioritized for the community. The implementation stage is processed following the Regulation of the Minister of Finance Number 199 of 2017 concerning procedures for allocating village funds and implementing the village income and expenditure budget. Financial recording and reporting have been carried out correctly and adequately, and village funds have also been reported transparently to sub-district and district governments and village communities. Nevertheless, several obstacles are faced by the Harapan Makmur village government in optimizing the management of village funds. These constraints are related to the capacity of village apparatus resources, natural factors, low community support for managing village funds, inappropriate disbursement system, and government policies and regulations that change yearly

Abstract

The study examines the impact of monetary policy on private capital formation in Nigeria from 1980 to 2020. The study adopts Keynes's theory of capital formation as its theoretical framework. The stationarity tests show a mixed level of stationarity among the variables. Consequently, the study employs ARDL as its estimation technique. The study reveals that Monetary Policy has a positive impact on Private Capital Formation in Nigeria. Based on the findings, the study recommends that the government should maintain the current  Monetary Policy Rate (MPR) to continue impacting Private Capital Formation positively. Secondly, the government should formulates appropriate policies that will ensure that the  Exchange Rate (EXCHR) is stable so that it can improve the level of Private Capital Formation in Nigeria. Lastly, the government should embark on policies that will curb inflation or help reduce the rate of inflation to increase the level of Private Capital Formation.
