Abstract

PT Bukit Asam (Persero) Tbk was one of the Indonesian State Owned Enterprises which conduct tocoal mining. During the process of coal mining, demolition overburden resulted in a change of forceand also set up new structures and caused differences in stress distribution thereby changing thestrength of the rock mass. This result the mining slope becomes unstable and could cause a lot ofharm, therefore the analysis of slope stability was carried out. This study was conducted todetermine the quality of the rock mass slope based on the value SMR (Slope Mass Rating), directionof failure using the analysis of kinematics by Dips software and Safety Factor value (SF) based onMorgenstern Price method using Software Geoslope / W 2007. The data used in this study includesdata UCS, RQD, spacing of discontinuity, discontinuity conditions, groundwater conditions and data ofdiscontinuity orientation. Data retrieval was divided into 9 scanline slopes. The analysis indicatedquality of the rock mass and degree of slope stability based on the SMR for scanline I, VII and IX werevery good with a very stable condition, Scanline II, III, IV, V, VI and VIII had good quality with a steadyslope conditions. The Possibility of slope failure occured only in several blocks for Scanline II, IV, V, VIand VIII. After the analysis of kinematics for Scanline III, IV and V had directions of failure to ScanlineIII was N 490 E, Scanline IV was N 500 E and Scanline V was N 480 E. Values of Safety Factor (SF)single slopes from 9 scanline was estimated to 3.254 - 44.737 (safe condition) and the overall slope of1.85 to 4.09 (safe condition). It was concluded that overall the existing slope on the location Subanwere in a safe condition for SF value >1.25.

Abstract

Open pit mining system for the class under TB as TS has reserves of alluvial tin, so that the postmining activities in particular using the backfilling method. Backfilling method that would be examined wasthe backfilling method by mechanial means. The study was conducted in TS 1.44 Mapur PT Timah(Persero) Tbk. Data processing to be performed was the cycle time calculation of heavy equipmentsuch as excavator, dump trucks and bulldozer using to measure time of backfilling, time of stripping,production capacity and match factor. The calculation of machine cost to calculation cost of backfilling.The measurement hole of backfilling and stripping to calculation the volume of backfilling and the volumeof overburden. Calculation time for persentage of effeciency work tools. Based on research obtainedbackfilling activities was a stage open new worked front that stripping, used the excavator loading materialinto a bath of dump truck, dumping into the hole in backfilling and leveled material used bulldozer.Backfilling volume of 171.390 m3 from pegs base and 87.000 m3 from TLR, have a difference of 84.390m3. Backfilling for 41 days with the cost of Rp 675.100.000. Stripping volume of 150.000 m3 to 63.000 m3of excess soil and stripping for 70 days. Production capacity of excavator 49.364,17 m3/month, dumptrucks 39.491,33 m3/month and bulldozer 300.249,09 m3/month. Effeciency of three equipment by0.786%. Match factor results by 72%, means unloading excavator having waiting time while dump truckwork 100%. The production of less than the maximum, so we need the add of 1 unit of dump truck so thatthe tools fit the excavator does not happen the wait time, dump trucks became to 4, it 96% or MF = 80% -100% and productifity would be maximum.

Abstract

PT Mandiri Karya Makmur is a private mining company that mine granite rock located in CentralBangka Regency Area.The main activity in extracting granite rock was conducted using blastingmethod. Blasting acitivy could influence invironment around mine site, including community.Therefore, it was necessary to evaluate blasting activity, especially tie-up to decrease vibration fromblasting activity itself. The method used to make design of tie-up was using shotplus-i program. Theaims in this research was to set up surface delay and the use of time window in order to determineamounts of similar blasting holes. The data used including sounding data and blast design todetermine PPV value. The value was calculated by using empirical formula of U.S.B of Mine No 656 of1971. The actual geometry used including burdens 1,8 m, spacing 2,3 m and hole depth rate 6 m.Then, determining the measurement of vibration was using Android based vibrometer. The result ofappropriate tie-up evaluation used in blasting was Box cut pattern, surface delay 25 ms and 42 mswith inisiation of left corner using time window 8 ms and similar blasting holes was 3 holes. Thisamount could minimize vibration. Actual PPV value was 0,7 mm/s, PPV recommendation value of 3,3mm/s and SD value of 19,6 m/kg. The cavacity of explosive was 932 kg and minimum safe distance of598 m from blasting point. It was categorised still safe referring to Building type theory of number 2(SNI 7571 : 2010).

Abstract

TB 2.2 Tempilang is managed by partner of PT Timah (Persero) Tbk. Mining system that applied is asystem of mechanical mine, where mining activities carried out by moving the overburden materialprior to mine kaksa layer. The problem that occurs was the productivity of conveyance on the actualcondition only 98.76% of target had been determined, which led to their failure in overburden removalvolume amounted to 1.24%. Therefore, it was necessary to do an evaluation of the performanceaffecting factors of load haul equipment and conveyance in the field. Evaluation was carried out bycalculating the value of productivity, work efficiency and Match factor. The data required includedcycles time data, effective working time, the amount of bucket loading, the type of overburden materialand haul road geometry. Then the data was processed using the formula of mechanical soil removaland analyzed based on the literature related to the problem. The factors causing productivityconveyance has not reached the target after the evaluation due to low efficiency of work, the leastamount of bulk bucket loading, and the low value of match factors. The Alternatives can be done toimprove the productivity of conveyance is to increase the effective work time, additional of bucket loadhaul equipments and additional of conveyances. Effective work time should be increased from 12.34hours to 14.23 hours, so the work efficiency become 79.03% from 68.58% to the achievement ofproduction is 113.80%. Bulk bucket should be added from 15 times to 20 times, so the productivitybecome 131.68 m3/hour of 98.67 m3/hour. Conveyance which is originally 2 units coupled into 3 units,resulting in a change of match factor equipment performance from 0.69 to 1.04 with the achievementof production is 141.14%.

Abstract

Eastern Extension of Pit Air Laya Limoa Mine was one of Air Laya Mine site that has coal miningbusiness license owned by PT Bukit Asam (Persero) Tbk. Excavator and truck method were applied inthat mine site. Mechanical equipments used in this site were 1 unit of Komatsu PC 800 SE Excavatorand 6 units of HINO LM 500 Dump Truck. Coal production target in Eastern Extension of Pit Air LayaLimoa Mine in October 2015 was 180.000 ton, but the production capacity of load haul equipment was157.179,39 ton with the work time efficiency at 14,07 hour/day and load haul equipment productiononly 129.245,20 ton with the work time efficiency at 13,97 hour/day. Therefore, evaluation wasnecessary throughout factors affecting working performance of mechanical equipment to achieve thetarget. Evaluation in achieving the target of coal production was conducted by calculating theproductivity, work efficiency and match factor. The data required to obtain these values includedequipment cycle time, the effective work time effeciency, the amount of bucket loading, density andcoal swell factor. Then the data was processed by using formula of mechanical soil removal andanalyzed based on literature related to the issue. After the evaluation of factors affectingperformance of mechanical equipments then work time effeciency corrected to be 15,61 hours/dayand additional of 6 to 7 unit of conveyance. There were changes in work time effeciency between loadhaul equipments and conveyance from 0,83 to 0,97. Production capabilities generated load haulequipment after being evaluated was 192.291,14 tons and production capabilities of conveyances,after the evaluation amounted to 188.236,03 tons.

Abstract

Coal production target in East extension of TAL Limoa Front was 180.000 ton/month in October2015 but the target achieved only 115.967,59 ton with the percentage achievement of productiontarget at 64,4 %. Therefore it was necessary to evaluate performance of Dozer Ripper D375 numberseries DZ 521. The evaluation conducted by taking primer actual data in mine site such as cycletime, work distance, work effeciency, Ripper penetration and then the collecting data was processedto make reparations of DZ 521 type of D375 Ripper with the aim to meet the production target. Theachieved production after prior evaluation conducted by increasing work time effeciency was162.826,57 ton with the production achievement percentage at 90.45 % and the lack production was17.173,43 ton, a further evaluation was conducted by repairing of Ripper penetration performance andthe production was 206.138,22 ton with the production achievement percentage at 114% and theexceed production was 26138,22 ton. Then work time efficiency and Ripper penetration was improvedto obtain target production of 289.475,83 ton with the production achievement percentage at 160%and exceed production of 109.475,83 ton with time reserve 150 hours/month and 4,8 hours/daymaybe can back up the problems on location production. The evaluation had been met coalproduction target of Limoa Front.

Abstract

Rock blasting operation generate deformation as a result of the vibration that will destruct rockmass and cause slope failure to endager the human safety. There are so many geological structuressuch as fault, joint and structures that caused the failure slope in South Air Laya Mine Site. Thereforeit is necessary to conduct a research of the influence of blast vibration on slope stability factor aroundthe area. Stability factor value (FK) was obtained from calculation of Geolsope 2007. Test ofPhysical and mechanical parameter valueincluded value of weight content of soil / rock (w) withkn/m3unit, cohesion (C), shear angle(), plasticity index value (IP) as well as the compressivestrenght (UCS). Vibration value was obtained from the measurement of vibration using BlasmateIII.Vibration value used is Peak Acceleration Tranverse (the greatest point taken). Furthermore, physicaland mechanical parameters data of rock and vibration was processed by using Geoslope2007software.Based on research conducted for 50 days by blasting as many as 15 times. Vibration valueused is 3 vibration greatest value, namely 0.102 g; 0.086 g and 0.084 g.The calculation of slope FKvalue using Geoslope2007 software was obtained the comparison between slope FK before and afterblasting. Slope FK value before blasting was 3,744 to 4,058 and slope FK after blasting was 3,422 to2,783. From the overall of slope FK value, slope in blasting area was conluded in safe category (FK >1,25).

Abstract

Unit produksi SHP PT BUMAKO Site Pemali merupakan mitra Timah Tbk yang mengolah sisa hasil pengolahan timah untuk diproduksi kembali berdasarkan Keputusan Menteri No. 1827 tahun 2018. Proses pengolahan SHP timah primer di PT BUMAKO menggunakan alat penggerusan berupa Rod Mill dengan proses basah dan proses pencucian menggunakan alat konsentrasi berupa shaking table. Produk hasil dari Rod Mill Upgrading diharapkan minimal 50% berukuran ≥60 mesh. Namun, hasil ukuran penggerusan aktual di PT BUMAKO hanya mencapai 30% dari target. Hal ini disebabkan belum adanya penetapan variabel pada alat tersebut. Akibat rendahnya efektivitas penggerusan tersebut mengakibatkan biaya produksi tinggi dan terganggunya proses konsentrasi, oleh karena itu dilakukan penelitian menggunakan alat Rod Mill dengan memvariasikan 3 variabel sebanyak 12 kali percobaan yaitu, waktu penggerusan sebanyak 2 variasi (1,5 jam dan 2 jam), jumlah batang rod sebanyak 3 variasi (25, 23 dan 21 batang) dan volume air sebanyak 2 variasi (140 L dan 150 L air). Hasil pada 12 kali percobaan menunjukkan persentase lolos tertinggi sebesar 59,25% dan persentase lolos terendah sebesar 41,63%. Variabel penggerusan yang paling efektif yakni waktu penggerusan selama 2 jam, jumlah batang rod sebanyak 25 batang dan volume air sebanyak 140 L dengan produk persentase lolos mesh 60 sebesar 59,25%.

Abstract

The impacts of drill and blast activities is ground vibration. A limit of PPV according to SNI is 5 mm/s for buildings with foundations, masonry and cement. The average PPV in this blasting activity is 2 mm/s. The community is complain that level of ground vibration produced was still felt and worried damage the building. So, PT Bukit Asam Tbk has made a regulation of the ground vibration is ≤ 1 mm/s for blasting in the near houses. The purpose of this study is to make a blast design geometry form burden, spacing, and stemming, weight of explosives maximum, , delay configuration, and estimate of the fragmentation in 800m by PPV  ≤ 1 mm/s. This research method uses quantitative research methods by observing, collecting and processing data, testing data results, and making blast designs. The results show that the PPV value can be predicted using the equation of non-linear power regression. The design of the blasting geometry to obtain a PPV value of ≤ 1 mm/s is by using a presplit method, with a vulnerable space of 6 – 7.5 m, a burden of 5 – 6.5 m, and a maximum of explosives is 24-40 Kg/hole.

Abstract

Calculation of coal quantity can be done by various methods, one of which is by measuring the detailed situation using survey tools such as Total Station, GPS or GNSS, can also use Terrestrial Laser Scanner and popular technology currently used for volumetric survey activities is unmanned aircraft or drones. The purpose of this study was to determine the quantity of coal stockpile LS DH 5 using the DJI Phantom 4 RTK Drone and Terrestrial Laser Scanner, compare the quantity results of the two measuring instruments and determine the feasibility of the coal quantity measured by the DJI Phantom 4 RTK Drone against the quantity measured by the Terrestrial Laser Scanner. The calculation results using the DJI Phantom 4 RTK Drone were 243,214.506 tons and the calculation results using the Terrestrial Laser Scanner were 242,713.028 tons, between the two calculations there was a difference of 501.478 tons or 0.21%, From this comparison, the calculation results of the DJI Phantom 4 RTK Drone are considered close to accuracy because they are within the tolerance standard (Industry Adapted Error) used, which is 2% according to ASTM D6172-98.
