The analysis technique in this study uses Linda and Eyre’s (1995) source theory. The results of this study found five dialogues containing the moral value of bravery. Their bravery value emerges when they have to face a dangerous situation and their fear. The characters that reflect the moral value of bravery are Bill, Beverly, and Richie. Besides using words, they also use actions to reflect their bravery value. Bill’s desire to end all the bad things that Pennywise caused and his act of daring to enter the good house is a way he reflects on the value of Bravery. Through research, researchers concluded that building good character should start from moral messages contained in reading materials, TV programs, video content, game playing, and even for all literary works. Thus, character education will grow better because the basis has started from positive moral messages.

In this study, the researcher obtained data by direct field observation. The data were taken from recounted text writing made by eleven-grade students of SMA Dharma Praja, 30 of whom were involved in this study. The population of this study only took one eleventh-grade class, namely XI MIPA 1. The data was the student’s original writing without the help of Google Translate during the writing process. This study used the theory proposed by Dulay et al. (1982) to analyze the types of grammatical errors. The method used for this study is the descriptive qualitative method to analyze the data. The total number of errors made by students can be seen from the data that has been analyzed. The highest error frequency was misformation and misinformation, with 45 errors (1.5 %). The second was the omission error, with 21 (0.7%). Then, the third error was addition, with a total error of 13 (0.43%). The last was misordering, which only found five errors (0.16%). This error occurred because students still do not understand proper grammar. Abstract

Nowadays, the ability to use two languages in communication is an interesting phenomenon because it involves some language mixing, also known as code mixing. This study describes the types of code mixing and the reason for code mixing in Nessie Judge’s YouTube channel videos, using theory from Hoffman (1991). This study adopts a qualitative descriptive method. There are six videos from Nessie Judge’s YouTube channel, from May 2018 to August 2021, were chosen for data analysis. There are four steps in the data collection process. The first is finding Nessie Judge’s YouTube channel, the second is watching her videos, the third is taking note of the phrase Nessie used that contained code mixing, and the fourth step is classifying the data regarding the causes and forms of code mixing. The results show that two types: intra-sentential and intra-lexical. However, for the type involved, the writers did not find a change in pronunciation. As for the reasons, only three were found: talking about a particular topic, repetition used for clarification, and the intention of clarifying the speech content for the interlocutors. Besides that, the dominant data found is the intra-sentential type, with a total of 52 data, and the dominant reason used is talking about a particular topic, with a total of 45 data. It is anticipated that this work will advance and build a theoretical viewpoint on linguistics, particularly in the research of code-mixing. Additionally, this research may aid in sociolinguistic advancement, particularly in language studies and theories.
