Abstract

Community empowerment programs that are effective, right on target, and provide solutions to community problems are programs planned based on data and information in the field and designed in a participatory manner by involving stakeholders. This research aims to discover local communities' issues and phenomena, mainly social, economic, and environmental, through social mapping studies and design community empowerment programs for sustainable development. The method used in this research is descriptive. Data collection techniques are carried out using the Rapid Rural Appraisal (RRA) method with household survey techniques, Focus group Discussions (FGDs), and semi-structured interviews. They involve three villages affected by mining activities, which are recipients of CSR funds. From the results of the analysis and discussion obtained, information that the level of stakeholder participation in the identification of issues for community empowerment is a high-level category. This is shown in their involvement in the process of FGD activities. Identified issues and community empowerment programs include agriculture, animal husbandry and fisheries, health, public infrastructure, education and human resources, social and religious areas, and youth or youth organizations. Strategic issues as a reference in implementing sustainable community empowerment programs are encouraging the improvement of the regional economy and community income, developing agriculture, livestock, and fisheries, sustainable community empowerment programs based on stakeholder recommendations, strengthening institutions and partnerships, and developing infrastructure and improving essential health services.

Abstract

Lailangga Village is one of the villages located in Wadaga District, West Muna Regency. Some of the people work in the agricultural sector, namely intercropping corn and peanuts. Of course, in farming, farmers have motivation in running their farming business which is known as the motivation to try. So this study aims to see the motivation of farmers in trying to intercrop corn and peanut. The location determination was done deliberately because the people of Lailangga Village are mostly working in the agricultural sector, especially farmers intercropping corn and peanuts. The population in this study was 372 farmers who cultivated corn and peanuts with a precision of 15% so that a sample of 41 people was obtained. This type of research is descriptive quantitative. Data analysis using class intervals. The results showed that farmers' motivation in managing farming both intrinsic (needs, hopes, interests) and extrinsic (family encouragement, environment and rewards) motivation were in the high category.

Abstract

This study aims to determine thedetermine the suitability of agricultural extension materials to the skills of corn farmers in Madambi Village, Lawa District, West Muna Regency. This research was conducted using qualitative and quantitative methods, with 30 informants/respondents. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the skills possessed by corn farmers in Madambi Village are still very strong with the teachings given by their ancestors where they still use them and still uphold the skills they have, the extension materials provided by an extension worker on corn farmers, showing that what was given by extension workers slowly began to be applied by corn farmers, although they still prioritize their own skills in farming corn, but over time farmers begin to understand and want to apply what has been taught by extension workers and the suitability of the material to skills corn farmers, are already in the moderate category where not all the problems experienced by farmers are in accordance with the material provided by the extension workers in Madampi Village, Lawa District, West Muna Regency.

Abstract

The application of local wisdom in corn cultivation is one of the traditions carried out by farmers from generation to generation until now. The application of this local wisdom is not done just like that, but is based on the farmers' motivation in carrying out this tradition in order to meet their needs. This study aims to determine the motivation of farmers to apply local wisdom in corn cultivation in Wasolangka Village, Parigi District, Muna Regency. Determination of informant s in this study were four corn farmers using the snowball technique. The data collection process was carried out by in-depth interviews, documentation and literature study. Data analysis in this study used a qualitative descriptive analysis. The results of the study show that the motivation of farmers to apply local wisdom in corn cultivation in the Wasolangka Village is still being carried out today, where this motivation can meet the needs of farmers consisting of motivational physiological needs, the need for a sense of security, social needs, the need for appreciation and the need for actualization self. While the stages of corn cultivation in local wisdom consist of location determination (deghondo tampa), land clearing (detambori), burning (desula), re-burning (derangka), fencing (deghala), rituals before planting (kaago-ago), planting (detisa ), maintenance (derawati kahitela), young corn (detumbu) and harvesting (detongka).

Abstract

This research is motivated by a cooperation agreement for the profit sharing system in paddy rice farming between land owners and land cultivators which is generally carried out only orally on the basis of trust, without witnesses, not registered by the village head, not ratified by the sub-district and no law binding agreements. The purpose of the study was to determine the profit sharing mechanism in paddy rice farming in Bou village, Lambandia district, East Kolaka regency and find out what obstacles were faced in the implementation of profit sharing for paddy rice farming in Bou village, Lambandia District, East Kolaka regency. The determination of this location is carried out intentionally or purposively with considerations, there are paddy rice farming activities that are managed with a profit-sharing system, profit sharing agreements are still carried out orally, and Lambandia district produces the largest paddy rice production in East Kolaka district. The population in this study was 21 land owners and paddy paddy cultivators in Bou village. The samples in this study amounted to 15 land owners and 15 land cultivators who carried out profit sharing in the cultivation of paddy rice farming. The data analysis used in this study is descriptive. Descriptive analysis is an analysis that explains as a whole the information obtained from the field obtained from interviews and uses tables that are easy to understand, interpret, and compile and present data into clear information where the necessary data comes from the results of answers to questions asked to respondents in the form of questionnaires.

Abstract

The research is motivated by the production which is still low at 1.1 tons/ha, of course it is still far from the national average rice production which is around 5.7 tons/ha. One of causes of the decline in rice production is the ability of farmers to improve. This study aims to determine the ability of farmers in lowland rice farming, both in the form of farmer knowledge and farmer skill in the farming process, starting from land processing, planting, fertilizing, irrigation, and harvesting. The sampel in this study was determined throught of census method. The number respondent of rice farmers as many as 14 farmers. Analysis of the data used this study is a quantitative descriptive method that is processed with the class interval formula. The result of thus study indicate that farmers in ronta village, bonegunu district, north buton regency are in the capable category, it can be seen trought the knowledge and skill of farmers.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the Knowledge of Farmers in Patchouli Cultivation in Laworo Village, Tiworo Islands, West Muna Regency. The location selection used in this study was determine intentionally or purposively. The time of this research was carried out in December 2021 to January 2022. Data analysis used in this study using the class interval formula. The population in this study were all patchouli farmers in Laworo Village as many as 19 people. The data analysis used is quantitative data using the class interval formula. The results showed that in general most of the farmers in Laworo Village had a high level of knowledge in patchouli cultivation, namely land processing 68,42 %, planting 100%, maintaining 64,29%, and harvesting 73,68%, but thereare some farmers in the nursery knowledge are in the medium category that is 63,15%.

Abstract

Seaweed cultivation is a farming business that requires the ability to manage it in order to get good results. Based on a survey conducted in Kolese Village, Pasikolaga Subdistrict, Muna Regency, problems related to seaweed cultivation were found, namely seaweed farmers in the College village had not been able to control pests and diseases in seaweed, did not have the technical expertise for good cultivation. Researchers suspect the cause is the lack of knowledge of seaweed farmers regarding seaweed cultivation. This study aims to find out how farmers know about seaweed cultivation in Kolese Village, Pasikolaga District, Muna Regency. The variable in this study is farmer knowledge, this research was conducted in December-January 2023. The population in this study were all seaweed farmers in Kolese Village, Pasikolaga District, totaling 22 people with research samples through the census method. This type of research is Quantitative research using primary and secondary data sources, data collection techniques in this study were observation, interviews and questionnaires, and data analysis used in this study was quantitative descriptive analysis. The results of this study indicate that most of the seaweed farmers in Kolese Village have high knowledge about planting, selecting seeds and harvesting. Some farmers also understand and are able to apply seaweed cultivation methods well.
