Abstract

The objective of this study is to analyze the cooperative pattern, advantages, and disadvantages of the California Papaya Farmer Group with Hypermart Lippo Plaza Kendari. The research utilized a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. The study's informants are California papaya farmers who have a cooperative relationship with Hypermart Lippo Plaza, intentionally selected based on predetermined criteria. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation methods. Data were collected through an interview guide and analyzed using qualitative methods as described by Mills and Huberman, including field notes, information collection, information presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that the California papaya farmer group cooperated with Hypermart Lippo Plaza Kendari through a sub-contract partnership pattern. The cooperation pattern offers several advantages, including price and market certainty, production continuity, and higher product selling prices for farmers who participate. However, one major shortcoming of this pattern is that Hypermart Lippo Plaza Kendari does not distribute farming risks, meaning that the partner group bears all the risk.

Abstract

South Konawe Regency, the executive and legislature as regional government partners are continuously involved in communication about how to manage and allocate public resources, official authority, official sanctions and other political actions. In various situations, both parties communicate in formal or informal forms. The aim of this research is to describe and analyze forms of communication, the dominant political communication culture, and the basic obstacles that limit legislative and executive opportunities to communicate more effectively in realizing good governance in South Konawe Regency. This research uses a qualitative approach. The data collection techniques that will be used are Desk Study and Interview. Research informants were determined purposively. The interactive analysis method according to Miles and Huberman, namely the stages of data collection, reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions, was used in this research. The research results show that the forms of communication that exist between the Legislative (DPRD) and the Executive (PEMDA) of South Konawe Regency are formal communication and informal communication. Formal communication is realized in harmony between the two institutions in carrying out their respective functions. As for informal forms of communication, when there is a problem that is difficult and cannot be resolved in formal communication, informal channels are a solution so that the relationship between the two remains in harmony and continues to go hand in hand. The political culture that is built and attached to political elites, both legislative and executive, is a political communication culture that upholds family values. This cultural approach to political communication has proven effective in breaking the ice. This cultural closeness is a sign that political actors continue to maintain. Bearing in mind that this area is known as a miniature Indonesia with a diversity of ethnic, religious and racial identities, which makes family relations a close bond between one another. Barriers to organizational communication that occur within regional government and DPRD are technical barriers; digital infrastructure in providing adequate internet access and fast response in communication via WhatsApp social media as a communication medium in the digital era. Technical obstacles that cause communication channels to not run effectively or not be used properly, because technical matters certainly affect operational performance. Semantic barriers; clarity of communication (clarity) which is related to the presence of unclear or one-sided information that gives rise to differences in views.

Abstract

The problem often faced by patchouli farmers is in the marketing process of their products. In general, when marketing patchouli in South Konawe Regency, farmers collaborate through marketing institutions or intermediary traders to market their products. Basically, the high marketing costs cause many farmers to depend on marketing institutions that are able to provide facilities such as transportation and the needs that farmers need to market their products. The aim of this research is to determine and analyze marketing channels, differences in share margins, and marketing efficiency of patchouli plants in South Konawe Regency. The research design used was descriptive quantitative. The respondents for this research consisted of patchouli farmers and traders. The sampling technique was carried out using purposive sampling technique. The data analysis used is calculating the share margin, margin and marketing efficiency. Then descriptive qualitative data analysis was used using SWOT analysis. The research results show that the marketing channels for patchouli oil that have been formed are: Patchouli Farmers to Small Traders to Large Traders to Consumers (Industry). The calculation results show that the Share Margin value is 61.03%, meaning that the determination of the selling price made by farmers is included in the efficient category. It is said to be efficient if the farmer's selling price is more than or equal to 40% of the purchase price at the exporter level. The marketing efficiency value is 15.59%. The smaller efficiency value indicates that the use of existing marketing channels in the research area can be said to be more efficient because of the lower ratio of total marketing costs to selling prices to final consumers. The strategies that need to be implemented are maximizing the productivity of patchouli farming, increasing farmers' knowledge and education, production facilities and infrastructure as well as increasing cultivation and post-harvest technology facilities, utilizing the level of productivity of patchouli as an export crop to earn more income, taking advantage of the large number of productive farmers who are still farming. patchouli, controlling prices from the government so that there are no price games, increasing education, knowledge and experience and skills of farmers in applying cultivation technology, and increasing the number of technological facilities for processing products to meet quality standards set by traders/industry and also be able to reduce the risks that arise due to fluctuating price competition.

Abstract

Agricultural extension has been instrumental in developing agriculture by enhancing the quality of agricultural human resources. This study was conducted on 112 rice paddy farmers in the village of Labibia in December 2022, using simple random sampling. The research sample consisted of 28 farmers from Labibia village. This study examines the variables of extension agents' attitudes, including extension methods, techniques, materials, and media, as well as farmers' participation in activity planning, implementation, and monitoring and evaluation. The logical structure and causal connections between statements are maintained, and the text is free from grammatical errors, spelling mistakes, and punctuation errors. This study examines the variables of extension agents' attitudes, including extension methods, techniques, materials, and media, as well as farmers' participation in activity planning, implementation, and monitoring and evaluation. The text adheres to conventional structure and formatting, including consistent citation and footnote style. No changes in content were made. The data analysis utilized descriptive and rank Spearman correlation analyses. The language used is clear, concise, and objective, with a formal register and precise word choice. The study revealed that farmers in the village of Labibia rated the implementation of agricultural extension activities as 'medium' across four indicators: extension methods, techniques, materials, and media used by extension workers. This means that the implementation of extension activities still needs improvement in four indicators to ensure that farmers can fully benefit from the extension process. In Labibia village, farmers' participation in agricultural extension activities falls under the medium category. The three indicators are activity planning, activity implementation, and monitoring and evaluation of agricultural extension activities. In implementing extension activities, it is necessary to ensure participation between farmers and agricultural extension workers to achieve the planned goal of farmer independence. The attitude and participation of farmers in agricultural extension activities have a strong, unidirectional relationship. This means that the higher the farmers' attitude, the higher their participation in extension activities.
