Abstract

This study examines capital convertibility in Huripjaya Village, Babelan District, North Bekasi Regency. Capital convertibility refers to the ability of capital or economic resources to switch between forms or sectors to improve people's welfare. The main objective of this study is to analyze the dynamics of capital convertibility, the factors that influence it, and its impact on village development. The research method used is a combination of literature studies, field observations, and interviews with key stakeholders in Huripjaya Village. The results showed that the convertibility of capital in this village was influenced by internal and external factors, including geographical conditions, natural resources, institutions, and regional economic development. Factors such as economic diversification, the role of microfinance institutions, and community involvement in local decision-making play an important role in increasing capital convertibility. In addition, the existence of community economic training and education programs was also identified as a factor that contributed positively to economic structural changes in Huripjaya Village. In the context of development impacts, this study presents findings that increasing capital convertibility can make a significant contribution to improving the welfare of rural communities. This can be seen from the increase in population access to better health services, education, and infrastructure. This research provides valuable insights for policy makers, local governments, and other relevant parties to design more effective and sustainable development strategies at the village level.

Abstract

The development of disruptive business and technology has the potential to reduce the growth of electricity sales. The existence of "Indirect competitors" who also take advantage of the use of assets that do business in the electric vehicle ecosystem, companies providing solar PV rooftop services, and the emergence of new business areas will be a challenge for PLN. Companies must develop a business model strategy to ensure the company's financial sustainability, which ultimately ensures the sustainability of the electricity business in the future. Real improvements are expected to help companies increase revenue, efficiency, and cost effectiveness which can ultimately contribute to company revenue. Through the Extra Facilities business model, as a form of service to meet changing market tastes, sales strategies need to be implemented for customers who have special standards and needs. In this regard, the author carried out an analysis of the investment for connecting Extra Facility services to one of the prospective PLN customers of the Riau and Riau Islands Distribution Main Unit using a build-operate-transfer (BOT) scheme. The feasible indicator that was being used was financial profitability, resulting in IDR. 6,914,249,547 NPV higher than zero. Moreover, this project also gives certain commitment by generating 17.56% IRR > WACC with a payback period of 4 years 8 months less than 10 years (based on the term of the agreement).

The digitalization of Islamic financing transactions is also inseparable from technological developments, especially in the use of electronic contracts. Sharia banks implementation of sharia business activities is regulated in the “Compilation of Sharia Economic Law” (KHES). Competence, legal relations, objects, free consent, and jurisdiction are indicators of readiness for treaty legal instruments in the development of the current digitalization era. This study examines the legal readiness of agreements facing the era of digitalization of Islamic banking in financing transactions. The results of the field study show that the electronic contracts implemented by Bank Mega Syariah and Bank Muamalat through e-contracts meet the legal provisions of the agreements stipulated in positive law in Indonesia. The results of the literature study also show that treaty legal instruments as stipulated in BW, Law 11/2008 juncto PP 71/2019 and KHES have accommodated the development of electronic agreement legal needs as an implication of the digitalization era in banking financing transactions.

Abstract

Bangladesh, a nation marked by its dense population, continues to wrestle with multifaceted challenges even 52 years after gaining independence while navigating the sophistications of development. Among these challenges, the pressing issue of the Rohingya people's plight takes center stage, with various forms of oppression, including mass killings, executions, forced labor, deportation, and the denial of fundamental human rights, rendering them stateless. This study seeks to dissect the roots of the Rohingya crisis and explore its repercussions on Bangladesh. Employing an exploratory research approach, data from secondary sources were qualitatively analyzed using content analysis to discern underlying themes and patterns. The findings reveal that the Rohingya crisis is primarily driven by the lack of documentation, the rise of authoritarianism, and a complex religious landscape. Additionally, the paper identifies social, economic, and environmental challenges as direct consequences of refugee migration in Bangladesh. These insights hold significant implications for policymakers and practitioners actively involved in addressing the Rohingya crisis. Offering a comprehensive analysis, the study also proposes practical policy recommendations grounded in the specific context of the crisis, aiming for tangible applications in real-world scenarios.
