Abstract

PT PLN Batam is a national company operating in the field of electricity in the Batam region. As of December 2023, the number of customers is 367,709. Electricity consumption on Batam Island continues to increase with an average annual growth of 6.39% (2013-2023), and the average customer growth is 4.07% per year (2013-2023). This growth is accompanied by an increase in the assets of electricity distribution equipment, especially distribution substations. Distribution substations in PT PLN Batam consist of two types: concrete distribution substations and portal distribution substations. The total number of distribution substations as of December 2023 is 1,849. Distribution substations are vital distribution assets, requiring proper handling, especially regarding legal ownership of the land occupied by the substations. Land issues primarily occur in locations where distribution substations are situated in business centers or along main road medians. With the continuous increase in distribution substations, land legalization issues also escalate. To mitigate the risk of these land issues, PT PLN Batam implements the Decision Support System for the Legalization of Distribution Substations with Priority Weighting Bayes Method. This method, a qualitative approach, involves ranking distribution substations based on the highest to lowest risk. The goal of implementing the Bayes method is for the company to prioritize which distribution substations need to be legalized first and minimize land dispute issues in the future.

Abstract

The Islamic Educational Center for Kids (IECFK) is an important institution that teaches children about Islam and Al-Qur'an. However, many IECFKs need more competent teachers. Therefore, more research is needed to identify ways to improve teacher performance in IECFKs. This study aims to improve the teaching performance of IECFK teachers by enhancing their managerial principles and teaching supervision. Cluster random sampling was used to gather data and electronic questionnaires were sent to 288 IECFK administrators out of 995 IECFKs in Gunungkidul, Yogyakarta. The questionnaires were filled out to collect research data, which was analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The study found that both managerial principles and teaching supervision positively and significantly impacted teacher performance. These findings can be used to improve the quality of teacher performance at IECFKs and provide recommendations for improvement. Supervision should focus on continuous teacher development. Future research could explore other variables that affect teacher performance, such as school culture, teacher training, and improving teacher welfare.

Abstract

The advancement of Gibran Rakabuming Raka to become Prabowo Subiyanto's Vice President has indeed become a controversy in the political and democratic life in Indonesia. With the issuance of the Constitutional Court (MK) Decision Number 90/PUU-XXI/2023 concerning the Granting of Additional Ownership Experience in the Minimum Age Requirements for Presidential / Vice Presidential Candidates, submitted by a student named Almas Tsaqibbirru Re A. This application was accepted by the Constitutional Court on 3 August 2023. This research uses the theory of ethics (imperative ethics) according to Immanuel Kant, which states that an action is said to be right if it is in line with the principle of obligation relevant to it. Categorical imperative ethics is an absolute command and applies generally. to be all-inclusive, in Ethics it is very clear that the categorical imperative, acts based on obligation. Act according to universal laws, i.e. laws that tend to be accepted by society. The loss of ethics in political life has implications for political practices that are Machavellistic, namely politics as a tool to do everything, good or bad without regard to decency, and norms and apply as positivistic nuances (value-free) and this is very contrary to the ethical values of Pancasila Democracy which is upheld for the Indonesian nation. If someone is running for public office, they should prioritize polite politics and heed the rule of law so that there is peace in living together as citizens in the community.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the essence of the position of judges as state officials, linking it to the principles of democracy, justice and good governance. An in-depth review of legal literature and philosophical concepts reveals the need for adjustments in the perception of the position of judges as state officials, not only as interpreters of the law, but also as agents of social change. This research involves an analysis of the concept of judicial independence, its relationship with the executive and legislature, and the policy implications that can be applied to ensure independence and efficiency in the judicial system. This thinking is accompanied by an exploration of the role of judges in the face of the dynamics of globalization, technology, and human rights demands. The results highlight the importance of establishing a new paradigm regarding the position of judges, which includes integrity, accountability, and engagement in legal policies that strengthen democracy and the protection of human rights. The implications of this reconceptualization are expected to bring positive changes in maintaining the rule of law, justice, and public trust in the justice system.
