Abstract

Public libraries are increasingly recognised as social institutions that promote equity, inclusion, and community wellbeing. However, the integration of Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) principles into library budgeting remains underexplored. This study employs a narrative literature review to examine how GESI considerations are incorporated into library financial management through the lenses of Social Accounting Theory and Public Value Theory. The findings reveal that library budgeting continues to be dominated by efficiency oriented approaches, often overlooking distributive justice and social equity objectives. The review identifies accessibility oriented budgeting and community empowerment budgeting as the primary forms of inclusive resource allocation while highlighting persistent tensions between managerial efficiency and equity goals. Furthermore, a gap exists between institutional commitments to inclusion and actual budgetary support. To address this issue, the study proposes a GESI Integrated Social Budgeting Framework comprising equity based needs assessment, inclusive budget formulation, participatory allocation, social impact measurement, and accountability reporting. The framework positions budgeting as a strategic instrument for advancing social inclusion and public value creation

Abstract

In the digital era, Generation Z tends to use job search platforms to research companies before applying. During this information gathering process, discrepancies are often found between statements of inclusivity and online reviews of employee experiences on these job search platforms. This study aims to analyze how organizational inclusive cues and incongruence of inclusive cues influence the application intentions of Generation Z alumni and students at the Faculty of Economics and Business (FBE) UII, mediated by perceptions of organizational hypocrisy. This study used a purposive sampling method with 250 respondents consisting of Generation Z alumni and final-year students at the Faculty of Economics and Business (FBE) UII who are currently or have used job search platforms. Data collection was conducted by distributing questionnaires. The results of this study indicate that organizational inclusive cues have a significant positive effect on application intentions, while incongruence of inclusive cues has a significant negative effect on application intentions. This study found that strongly communicated inclusive cues can increase skepticism and perceptions of organizational hypocrisy, which in turn reduces application intentions. Conversely, incongruence of inclusive cues was found to weaken application intentions by increasing perceptions of organizational hypocrisy. Thus, this study confirms that consistency in inclusive communication and implementation plays a crucial role in preventing 'inclusivity washing'.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of inventory management literacy (LMP) and information technology adoption (ATI) on the operational efficiency (EO) of SMEs, with inventory control (PP) as a mediating variable. A quantitative approach with an explanatory survey design was employed, involving 120 SME owners/managers selected through purposive sampling and analyzed using PLS-SEM with SmartPLS 4.0. The results show that LMP and ATI each have a significant positive direct effect on both PP and EO, with ATI being the strongest predictor of PP. PP also has a significant positive effect on EO and partially mediates both the ATI-EO and LMP-EO relationships. The model demonstrates substantial predictive power in explaining variance in EO. These findings confirm that improving inventory management literacy and IT adoption are important strategies for SMEs to enhance operational efficiency, both directly and through strengthening their inventory control systems

Abstract

Changes in public consumption patterns toward bottled drinking water amid increasingly competitive brand rivalry have made consumer purchase intention an important aspect to investigate. This study explores the relationships among brand image, brand trust, and purchase intention, incorporating consumer attitude as a mediating variable. Data were obtained through a Likert-scale questionnaire administered to 220 respondents selected using purposive sampling. The findings indicate that brand image and brand trust positively contribute to the development of consumer attitude and purchase intention. Consumer attitude was also found to positively influence purchase intention and to partially mediate the relationships between brand image, brand trust, and purchase intention. These findings demonstrate that the Theory of Reasoned Action (TRA) remains relevant for explaining consumers’ purchase intentions for AQUA bottled drinking water products in Yogyakarta.

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of Environmental Performance (EP), Social Performance (SP), and Governance Performance (GP) on the financial performance of industrial sector companies in five ASEAN countries during the period 2020–2024. Financial performance is measured using Return on Assets (ROA), while ESG dimensions are represented by environmental, social, and governance performance indicators. The study employs a quantitative approach using panel data regression analysis with the Fixed Effect Model (FEM) based on 261 firm-year observations. The findings reveal that Environmental Performance has a significant positive effect on financial performance, indicating that firms with stronger environmental practices tend to achieve higher profitability. Specifically, EP demonstrates a positive and statistically significant coefficient (β = 0.731, p = 0.016). In contrast, Social Performance and Governance Performance do not show significant effects on ROA, suggesting that these dimensions have not yet translated into measurable financial benefits within the observed period. Among the control variables, Growth Opportunity emerges as the most influential factor affecting financial performance (β = 6.881, p = 0.001). Furthermore, the model explains 71.96% of the variation in ROA, indicating strong explanatory power. Overall, the results suggest that in the context of ASEAN emerging markets, environmental performance plays a more important role in enhancing firm profitability than social and governance performance, highlighting the strategic value of environmental sustainability initiatives.

Abstract

The value of companies in the energy sector during the 2020– 2024 period showed fluctuating conditions even though some companies obtained good environmental performance ratings and relatively high levels of profitability. This condition indicates that improvements in environmental performance and profitability have not always been followed by an increase in company value, thus creating uncertainty regarding the influence of these two variables on company value. This researcher aims to determine and analyze the influence of Environmental Performance and Profitability on Company Value. The objects of this study are Energy companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) for the 2020–2024 period. Environmental Performance in this study was measured using the company performance rating program in environmental management (PROPER), Profitability was measured using Return On Assets (ROA). Company Value was measured using Tobin's Q. The data collection method used purposive sampling . The research sample was 10 companies with 50 sample data. The data analysis technique used was Multiple Linear Regression using IBM SPSS version 27. The results of this study indicate that Environmental Performance has no positive effect on Company Value, Profitability has a positive effect on Company Value, Environmental Performance and Profitability simultaneously affect Company Value.

Abstract

The rapid development of financial technology (fintech) has accelerated digital transformation in the banking industry, particularly in digital lending services that require effective management of technological resources. However, Bank XYZ has not yet conducted a comprehensive assessment of the contribution of its technological components in supporting digital lending operations. This study aims to measure the contribution of technology and identify strategic priorities for technology development in digital lending services at Bank XYZ. A technometric approach was employed by integrating the Technology Contribution Coefficient (TCC) and Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP). Data were collected from employees directly involved in digital lending activities and from expert respondents selected based on their experience and involvement in technology management. The analysis focused on four technology components: Technoware, Humanware, Infoware, and Orgaware (THIO). The results show that Technoware has the highest technology contribution (TCC = 0.6931), followed by Orgaware (0.6904), Humanware (0.6794), and Infoware (0.6750). However, AHP results indicate that Humanware is the most strategically important component with a priority weight of 0.388, revealing a gap between actual technology contribution and strategic importance. Furthermore, the State-of-the-Art (SOTA) assessment indicates that Humanware has the lowest maturity level (0.6567), while Infoware requires further enhancement, particularly in analytical capabilities such as scoring engine systems. These findings contribute to the development of an integrated framework for evaluating technology contributions in digital lending and provide practical recommendations for prioritizing human resource development and information management to support sustainable digital transformation in the banking sector.

Abstract

Background: Digital health services (e.g., telemedicine, patient portals, and mobile health apps) are increasingly embedded in care delivery, making digital health literacy (DHL/eHealth literacy) a plausible determinant of service outcomes. Objective: This systematic literature review (SLR) synthesises empirical evidence on the association between DHL/eHL and patient-reported outcomes that are central to service management: digital patient experience, patient satisfaction, and loyalty-related outcomes (intention to use and continuance intention). Methods: A PEO-informed search was performed in Scopus using a structured query combining DHL/eHL terms, service outcomes, and digital service contexts. Primary empirical studies measuring DHL/eHL and reporting relevant outcomes among patients/end-users were eligible; non-empirical publications and studies without explicit DHL/eHL measurement were excluded. Study quality was appraised using the Joanna Briggs Institute checklist for analytical cross-sectional studies. A narrative synthesis was conducted due to heterogeneity. Results: From 35 retrieved records, four cross-sectional studies (2020-2025) met inclusion and quality thresholds. Across mHealth apps, clinical digital services, online consultation and social-media-based consultation, higher DHL/eHL was consistently associated with stronger intention/continuance and higher satisfaction. Reported mechanisms involved technology acceptance perceptions (usefulness and ease of use), trust/privacy, digital information accessibility and attitudes, and patient-provider communication/empowerment processes. Conclusion: DHL/eHL appears to function as a foundational capability for positive digital service outcomes, but the evidence base is small and dominated by cross-sectional self-report designs. Longitudinal and intervention studies and more standardised outcome measurement are priorities for advancing theory and informing DHL-responsive service design.

Abstract

This study analyzes the transformation of sensory and physical friction in Sasak culinary tourism into wellness experiences through narrative gastronomy. A qualitative case study approach was employed in two culinary tourism destinations in Lombok, Indonesia, namely Sade Traditional Village and Bilebante Tourism Village. Data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using thematic analysis to identify patterns of experiential transformation. However, limited attention has been given to how sensory and physical friction in culinary tourism can be transformed into wellness experiences through culturally mediated interpretation, particularly in vernacular culinary contexts. This study addresses this gap by examining how discomfort becomes a resource for psychological and emotional transformation. The findings show that tourists initially experience sensory overload, physical discomfort, and culture shock triggered by smoke, heat, strong aromas, and manual cooking practices. Through narrative gastronomy delivered by local actors, these frictions are cognitively reframed into cultural meanings associated with resilience, patience, and communal values. This process facilitates a transition toward mindfulness and flow state, characterized by heightened attention, embodied engagement, and sensory awareness. The experience further generates catharsis, gratitude, and social connectedness through communal food consumption. This study proposes the Friction-Induced Wellness Model as its main contribution. This model is among the first to explain how wellness in culinary tourism emerges not from comfort-based experiences, but through a culturally mediated transformation process involving sensory friction, narrative interpretation, and embodied participation.
