Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a chronic disease that occurs when the pancreas is unable to produce enough insulin. Indonesia is the 7th most DM sufferer in the world. Patients when diagnosed with DM experience psychological stress, anxiety because they are no longer like normal people, causing depression. The way to reduce depression is to do physical activity such as gymnastics. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of diabetic exercise on the reduction of depression scores at Persadia RSI Klaten. This study used a quasy experimental pre post test design with a cross sectional approach. The study population was type II DM patients who joined Persadia Islamic Hospital Klaten. The sampling technique was purposive sampling with a total of 30 respondents. The data collection instrument used the PHQ questionnaire. Bivariate data analysis using the Wilcoxon test. The results of the research on the characteristics of respondents were dominated by women as many as 23 (76.7%). The average age of the respondents was 49 years. The ethnic group is dominated by Javanese as many as 28 (93.3%). Most of the respondents' occupation is Labor 12 (40.0%). The average score for depression before the intervention for diabetic exercise was 7,400 and after the intervention for diabetic exercise decreased to 2.166. The results of the Wilcoxon test showed that there was a significant effect of diabetes exercise on the reduction of depression scores in type II diabetes mellitus patients at Persadia RSI Klaten values ??(p = 0.000, Z = -4.813). Conclusion based on the results of the study, the average depression score in Type II DM patients before diabetes exercise was 7,400. Meanwhile, the average depression score after diabetes exercise was 2.166. The results of statistical tests showed that there was an effect of diabetes exercise on depression scores in Type II DM patients with a p value of 0.000.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a group of metabolic diseases characterized by hyperglycemia that occurs due to abnormal insulin secretion. Uncontrolled hyperglycemia condition can cause complications in the foot neuropathy and ulcers are often associated with diabetes. Diabetic ulcers have an impact on loss of bodily function, decreased activity tolerance resulting in disruption to the individual's self-concept. The aim of this study was to analized relationship between diabetic ulcers and self-concept of diabetes mellitus patients in RSUP dr. Soeradji Tirtonegoro Klaten. The study design used case control with non-probability, sampling technique was consesecutived sampling. The number of samples used were 82 samples divided into two groups: 41 controls 41 cases. analysis of the results using bivariate test with Chi-Squere. Comparative test results with Chi-Squere between DM ulcers with self-concept in the control group and case group were adjusted p value = 0.034 (OR = 0.35). Conclusion there was a relationship between diabetic ulcers with the self-concept of diabetes mellitus patients at RSUP dr. Soeradji Tirtonegoro Klaten. Based on these findings, the proposed interventions that could be implemented was to increase self concept patient with diabetic ulcer.

Abstract

The emergence of Corona Virus Disease 19 (Covid-19) required a new method to control its spread. During this time, controlling COVID-19 was carried out by implementation of a sterilization chamber using a liquid-based disinfectant. However, the use of liquid-based disinfectants has been evaluated to be less effective because it allows disrupting the respiratory tract. Therefore, this work presents a negative pressure sterilization chamber using Ozone and UV-C lamp. Ozone has been recommended by the Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI) as a substitute for liquid-based disinfectants. In addition, to maximize performance, the chambers are added with UV-C lamps. The negative pressure sterilization chamber with Ozone and ultraviolet lamps was successfully created with the main parts of the cubicle chamber, an Ozone generator, at least one ultraviolet lamp, exhaust fan, switch, and a timer. The negative pressure sterilization chamber with Ozone and ultraviolet lamps according to this work, where the Ozone supply from the Ozone generator is made automatically to the door opening and closing. The duration of the Ozone supply was regulated by a timer. Then, the ultraviolet lamp can be activated together with Ozone or independently. With the implementation of this sterilization chamber, the spread of the Covid-19 virus is expected to be suppressed in a safer way than using liquid-based disinfectants.

Abstract

Indonesian society began to make appearance as a primary need. Appearance becomes important for middle and upper social classes which reaches 60-70% in Indonesia. Researchers are trying to find a combination formula of two teeth whitening ingredients (Baking Soda and Peroxide). The study uses an experimental method, which is to make a dental gel with variety of gradient constituent formulas, including F1, F2, F3, F4, and F5. F5 is the most optimal formula with best stability test results among other. F5 with Peroxide concentration of 30% had teeth whitening activity of 38% by two months in vitro test on adult teeth samples.
