Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between forgiveness and happiness in adolescents who have divorced parents. This study uses a quantitative approach using survey data collection methods. The subjects of this study were teenagers with an age range of 15-23 years, both male and female who had divorced parents with a total of 114 subjects. The measuring instrument used in this study to measure forgiveness is TRIM-18 (Transgression-Related Interpersonal Motivations Inventory) developed by McCullough et al. (2006) which has been adapted by (Umar M. F., 2016). Meanwhile, the measuring tool used for happiness is The Oxford Happiness Questionnaire (OHQ) developed by Hills & Argyle (2002) which has been modified and adapted by (Sartika, 2018). The results of the study were analyzed using Product Moment from Pearson correlation. The results of data analysis show that there is a significant positive relationship between forgiveness and happiness in adolescents who have divorced parents, with a correlation coefficient of r = 0.362 with p = 0.000. This indicates that the higher the forgiveness, the higher the level of happiness in adolescents who have divorced parents. Conversely, the lower the forgiveness, the lower the level of happiness in adolescents whose parents are divorced.

Abstract

In recent years, popular health trends have emerged as a significant influence on public health behaviors, shaping both individual lifestyle choices and societal health norms. These trends, driven by social media, celebrity endorsements, and marketing campaigns, have generated widespread awareness about wellness and health issues. However, the impact of such trends on long-term health outcomes remains a topic of debate within the scientific community. This study examines the role of popular health trends, including diet fads, exercise regimes, and mental health practices, in shaping public health behaviors. By analyzing available literature and conducting a survey on public health awareness and behavior, this paper explores how these trends influence attitudes toward well-being and health care choices. The findings suggest that while popular health trends can motivate positive behavior changes, they may also promote unproven or harmful practices. The study highlights the need for a balanced approach in promoting health trends and providing accurate information to the public. Keywords: health trends, public health, wellness, behavior, social media.

Abstract

The spread of contagious skin diseases in densely populated areas presents a significant public health challenge. This study explores the epidemiology of skin diseases within high-density urban populations, analyzing the contributing factors, transmission dynamics, and preventive strategies. The study was conducted in an urban area with a high concentration of residents, focusing on the most prevalent skin diseases, including scabies, fungal infections, and impetigo. Data was collected through surveys, clinical examinations, and environmental assessments to understand the correlation between overcrowding, hygiene practices, and spread disease. Results indicated a strong link between high population density and the increased incidence of skin infections. Limited access to healthcare, poor sanitation, and lack of public health education were identified as key factors exacerbating the issue. The findings emphasize the importance of early diagnosis, public health interventions, and community education in reducing the transmission of skin diseases. This study provides valuable insights into the epidemiology of contagious skin diseases in urban settings, offering guidance for policymakers and health practitioners in addressing this ongoing issue.

Abstract

The dynamics of mental health are significantly shaped by cultural factors, and collectivist cultures offer a unique lens for understanding mental well-being. This study explores mental health within the context of collectivist culture in Indonesia, focusing specifically on indigenous communities. Indonesia, with its vast array of indigenous cultures, presents a unique environment to examine how traditional practices, communal values, and social cohesion affect mental health outcomes. This paper explores how the interplay of cultural norms, community relationships, and traditional coping mechanisms influences individual and collective mental health. Utilizing a qualitative approach, the study employs interviews, focus groups, and ethnographic observation in indigenous communities across Java, Bali, and Sumatra. The results suggest that the collectivist orientation, which emphasizes social harmony, interdependence, and familial ties, has both positive and negative effects on mental health. On the one hand, community support and collective responsibility foster resilience and reduce the stigma associated with mental health issues. On the other hand, the pressure to conform to societal norms and uphold collective values can lead to feelings of isolation, stress, and suppression of individual mental health needs. The findings contribute to a deeper understanding of mental health in collectivist societies and provide valuable insights into culturally sensitive mental health interventions. The paper concludes with implications for mental health policy and practices in indigenous communities and the broader Southeast Asian region.

Abstract

The field of educational psychology has gained significant attention over the years, particularly in the context of different cultural and educational settings. This paper explores the educational psychology of children in Jordan, highlighting the impact of cognitive, emotional, and social development within the unique cultural context of the Middle East. The study reviews various factors affecting children’s learning processes, including parental involvement, socio-economic status, cultural values, and the influence of the traditional educational system. It also delves into the role of teachers, the curriculum, and how these aspects interact to influence children’s academic and emotional development. Furthermore, the research addresses challenges children face in their learning journey, including socio-cultural barriers, mental health concerns, and the educational policies that shape the schooling system. Based on a thorough review of current research and existing data, this article provides a comprehensive analysis of the educational psychology of children in Jordan and how these insights can contribute to improving educational practices and policies in the region. Ultimately, it argues for a more inclusive, culturally sensitive approach to education that considers the cognitive, emotional, and social development of students in Jordan’s unique educational environment. The paper aims to contribute to the growing body of knowledge in educational psychology and offers recommendations for future research and intervention programs.

Abstract

This study examines the psychological and health aspects of Indonesian pilgrims performing Umrah, a spiritual journey to Mecca. Given the importance of Umrah as a religious obligation for many Muslims, understanding the psychological and physical challenges faced by the pilgrims is critical. The research explores factors such as stress, anxiety, physical exhaustion, and social interactions during the pilgrimage, focusing on the specific experiences of Indonesian pilgrims. A mixed-methods approach was used, including surveys and interviews, to gather data from 200 participants. The findings highlight that while the spiritual experience of Umrah can bring a sense of peace and fulfillment, the physical and psychological challenges of the journey—such as fatigue, homesickness, and health concerns—are significant. Pilgrims’ health and psychological well-being are closely intertwined, with spiritual experiences acting as both a source of strength and stress. These insights are crucial for religious organizations, travel agencies, and healthcare providers to better prepare pilgrims for the physical and mental demands of Umrah, ensuring a more enriching and healthier pilgrimage experience. The study also suggests recommendations for improving the support systems for Indonesian pilgrims and the importance of mental health care in religious travel.

Abstract

The Makan Bergizi Gratis (MBG) initiative, launched under the Prabowo-Gibran cabinet, aims to tackle food insecurity and malnutrition in Indonesia by providing free nutritious meals to underserved populations. This study evaluates the impact of the MBG program on both physical health and psychological well-being, focusing on how access to free, balanced meals influences the health and mental health outcomes of beneficiaries. A mixed-methods approach was used, combining qualitative interviews with stakeholders, quantitative health data, and psychological assessments of MBG recipients. The results indicate significant improvements in physical health, including reductions in malnutrition rates, stunting, and underweight, particularly among children. Furthermore, the study finds that MBG positively impacts psychological well-being by reducing anxiety, alleviating stress related to food insecurity, and enhancing self-esteem. Participants reported feeling more secure and less stressed about their daily nutrition, which translated into improved mood and cognitive function. However, logistical challenges, such as distribution delays and quality control, remain obstacles to the program’s widespread effectiveness. The study also underscores the importance of integrating psychological support services with nutritional assistance to maximize the program’s holistic impact. Overall, the MBG initiative has proven to be a promising model for improving both physical health and mental well-being, providing insights for other nations grappling with food insecurity and malnutrition.

Abstract

This study explores the factors that shape collective psychological resilience in Libya, particularly in the context of the nation’s recent political instability, economic challenges, and complex cultural dynamics. The paper examines how these elements interact to strengthen or undermine community resilience, using a mixed-methods approach. Through qualitative interviews and quantitative data analysis, this research identifies key determinants of psychological resilience, focusing on cultural values, social capital, and economic conditions in Libyan society. Political instability, compounded by a decade of conflict, has forced communities to adapt and develop unique forms of resilience. This study also delves into the role of familial and community structures in coping with adversity, as well as the impact of government policies and foreign influence on the collective psyche of Libyan citizens. The findings suggest that while political and socioeconomic factors have undeniably shaped resilience, cultural influences rooted in communal solidarity and the importance of social support networks have played a central role in fostering psychological resilience. Understanding these complex factors is crucial for designing interventions aimed at improving mental health and social stability in post-conflict societies. The paper concludes with recommendations for policy makers and international organizations seeking to enhance psychological resilience through culturally appropriate and context-sensitive strategies.

Abstract

This article explores the intersection of Islamic law and modern health practices, analyzing how traditional Islamic principles address contemporary health issues such as mental health, medical ethics, and the use of modern medicine. Islam has long had a profound influence on the healthcare practices of its followers, with guidelines rooted in the Qur'an and Hadith (sayings of the Prophet Muhammad). However, with the rapid development of modern medical technologies and global health challenges, there has been a growing need to reconsider Islamic legal principles in relation to modern health needs. This study presents an in-depth analysis of how Islamic jurisprudence can contribute to health policy in the modern world, focusing on issues like bioethics, reproductive health, and patient rights. Through a critical examination of primary Islamic texts and contemporary scholarly interpretations, the article provides a framework for reconciling Islamic legal doctrines with emerging health challenges. The findings indicate that while Islamic teachings can offer significant guidance in medical decision-making, there remains a need for continuous reinterpretation of Islamic jurisprudence to address the complexities of modern healthcare.
