APIC Journal of Education and Training Medan Religious Training Center is a six-month periodical journal published by Balai Diklat Keagamaan Medan (Training Center for Education and Religious Technical Personnel), under the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Republic of Indonesia. The journal is aimed to disseminate the results of research/study on approaches, models, strategies, methods, media, learning innovations and development of teaching materials that improving the quality of training for educational and religious technical personnel. APIC was first published in printed form in 2018. It is published frequently twice a year, in June and December.

Abstract

The mainstreaming of religious moderation in Indonesia is not always warmly welcomed, because there are still those who consider it a liberalization or secularization of religion. This study seeks to identify the value of multicultural Islamic education in the indicators of religious moderation formulated by the Ministry of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia. This literature research uses a normative-philosophical approach. The analytical theory used is the values of multicultural Islamic education formulated by Azyumardi Azra. The results of the study conclude that there are dimensions of the value of multicultural Islamic education in the four indicators of religious moderation in Indonesia. First, the value of tasamuh education on indicators of tolerance in the formation of Islamic religious social understanding and attitudes that respect the reality of the plurality of life among religious communities. Second, the value of peace education on indicators of national commitment in the formation of Islamic religious understanding and social attitudes that emphasize peace and unity in state life. Third, the value of humanism education on anti-radicalism indicators in the formation of Islamic religious social understanding and attitudes that uphold human values. Fourth, the value of wasatiyah education on accommodative indicators of local culture in the formation of moderate Islamic religious understanding and social attitudes to address the plurality of local traditions as long as they do not conflict with Islamic teachings. The theoretical implication of this research is that there is relevance of universal values in indicators of religious moderation in Indonesia with various values of multicultural Islamic education.

Abstract

This research was conducted when the children were 3 years and 6 months old. The child’s nams is Muhammad Habibie. The son of Mr. Azwal Effendi and Mrs. Rostiana. This study was conducted to test the children's speaking ability in 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 words. This study uses the average utterance length (MLU) survey method. The data collection technique was done by recording the children's spoken words using a mobile phone. The use is a tap recording method, and the recording results are written and analyzed. A method for viewing and analyzing morphemes and structures used by children. Research shows that children have poor language skills. From this the author concludes that the child cannot speak yet.

Abstract

This research entitled is the Evaluation of the Implementation of Information and Communication Technology Distance Training for Madrasah Tsanawiyah Class 2 (Mathematics Teachers). The purpase of this study is to evaluate the implementation of the distance training seen from the documents in the Medan Religious Education and Training Center Learning Management System (LMS). From the results of the document research and data processing taken from the Bdk Medan LMS, it's found that the participants’ attitude assessment given by the committee was with an average value of 83.25 with “good” qualifications, for knowledge assessment with an average value of 79.45 with “competent” qualifications and the skills provided by widyaiswara are with an average value of 80.73 with "competent" qualifications. From the results of the overall assessment, i,e the participants' attitudes, knowledge and skills assessmentof, the participants  passed with a score of 92.00 to 100.00 as many as 2 people with “very competent” qualifications, in the range of 84.00 to 91.99 as many as 15 people with “competent” qualifications, in the range of 76 ,00 to 83.99 as many as 9 people with “quite competent” qualifications, while those who did not pass were assessed as less than 76.00 as many as 4 people with “less competent” qualifications. The evaluation of the organizers assessed by participants has an average aspect value of 94.02 with “very satisfactory” qualifications. Finally, the widyaiswara assessment was assessed by participants with an average value of 93.11 with “very satisfactory” qualifications.

Abstract

Today, Muslims are faced with two challenges that will be faced in understanding and implementing Islamic religious texts. First, the existence of a relaxed tendency in religion is a challenge for Muslims where this tendency triggers a person to become religious by following their passions and underestimating religious teachings. Second, in addition to the tendency to look beyond the inside, Muslims are also faced with the challenge of the tendency to overestimate and exceed limits in understanding religious texts. The Indonesian Ministry of Religion is aggressively campaigning for religious moderation, even in the realm of education. One indicator of religious moderation is tolerance. However, the current reality shows that there is a tendency of tolerance by going beyond limits, thinking too openly to get out of the signs of Islamic law. Therefore, this article will discuss the concept of integration of tasamuh based on Al-Quran to be applied in religious moderation education. The research method used is qualitative research with a library research approach. The results show that one of the concepts of integrating tasāmuh (tolerant) values is through educational institutions. The concept of tasamuh qurani makes Al-Quran the main basis where it is stated that brotherhood between fellow humans is good, namely by always being patient with the beliefs of other religions. Even though their teachings are false according to Islam, Allah still does not encourage Muslims to criticize and hurt people of other religions.

Abstract

The abstract This study aims to determine the role of the penghulu in minimizing the divorce rate. The research method used in this study is a literature study method which is included in the type of qualitative descriptive. By descriptive, knowing the description of the efforts that can be done by the penghulu to minimize the divorce rate, then with a literature study that shows the results of previous studies that support the ideas generated in this study. The results of this study conclude that there are several efforts that can be made by the penghulu in an effort to reduce the divorce rate in society, including: 1). Implementation of premarital guidance, 2). Forming a sakinah family study group, 3). do special guidance, 4). Reactivating the Advisory Board for the Development and Preservation of Marriage (BP4), 5). Meghan Wedding to be held at a young age, 6). Bride and Groom Guidance, and 7). Optimizing Intersectoral Coordination.

Abstract

Indonesian for Foreign Speakers or BIPA is a branch of basic Indonesian linguistic teaching that focuses on foreigners as learners. These learners prepare themselves to learn Indonesian formally for educational or work needs. In this study, the students consisted of eight female and male students, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia who came from South Korea. They are BIPA level A-1 learners or beginners with educational and work purposes. The focus of the material in this research is learning Indonesian vocabulary BIPA level A-1 by using word card games and picture cards. Vocabulary is fundamental in learning a new language. The higher one's vocabulary, the more communicative one's language skills will be. to maximize this learning process, word card game techniques and picture cards were used which were created by the teacher as well as the researcher. Data collection techniques used are tests, questionnaires, and interviews. The results of this study indicate that students are very enthusiastic and interested in learning vocabulary using word cards and picture card game techniques. Based on the results of the data obtained, it was found that there was a significant increase in test scores between the pretest and posttest. The test presented is a multiple-choice test with 10 questions with 5 alternative answers. Then, the mean of the questionnaire data shows a strong category with a score of 78.7. Questionnaires were distributed to students using a Likert Scale with 10 questions and 5 alternative categories of answers. This significant increase in posttest scores is relevant to the interviews that have been conducted. The students hope that this kind of learning technique will continue to be improved by BIPA teachers.

Abstract

This scientific paper is entitled the role of persuasive communication by online in creating the students' character by counseling guidance teachers at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri 2 Medan. The purpose of this study is to determine the role of persuasive communication by online in the formation of student character by counseling guidance teachers at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri 2 Medan. The samples as well as the informans of this study are counseling guidance teachers at MTsN 2 Medan, totaling 6 people. The results of his research is the persuasive communication by onlineis are lessable to creat the students' character. The changes that occur around 0-20%. It must be supported by face-to-face persuasive communication. This is because the success of persuasive communication itself is influenced by the factor of the message being conveyed, it must be seen that the body language of the communicator (counseling guidance teachers) who conveys it and the body language of the communicant (students) who receives the message, besides that the tone of voice is unheard because of the persuasive communication by online, i.e. using WA.

Abstract

The Relationship between Reading Interest and Short Story Writing Ability by Grade XI Students of Swakarya Binjai Vocational School for the 2020/2021 Academic Year. This study aims to determine the correlation between interest in reading and the ability to write short stories by class XI students of SMK Swakarya Binjai for the 2020/2021 academic year. The sample of this research was class XI AK totaling 19 people. This type of research is quantitative with a correlation (relationship) between one variable and another. Based on the results of data analysis, it can be concluded that there is a relationship between reading interest and the ability to write short stories for class XI students of Swakarya Binjai Vocational School for the 2020/2021 academic year as indicated by the value of rcount > rtable, namely 0.977 > 0.368.

Abstract

Arabic language learning for grade 5 students of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Muhammadiyah Botoputih, Temanggung Regency. These problems will be analyzed and then try to find solutions to overcome them. This type of qualitative research uses a phenomenological approach to reveal the issues or concerns in Arabic language learning in Grade 5 of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Muhammadiyah Botoputih. Data collection techniques used in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The results showed that Arabic language learning at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Muhammadiyah Botoputih was generally carried out according to the lesson plan. Problems faced by students in learning Arabic consist of linguistic and non-linguistic factors. Linguistic factors consist of sentence structure, sound system, and writing problems, while non-linguistic factors are educational factors, students, methods, facilities, or media. In the linguistic aspect, the solutions are additional material teachers in the form of Nahwu, Saraf, and other material through tajweed learning at Quran Education Center (TPQ), and partnerships with TPQ around the madrasah. In comparison, the solution to non-linguistic problems is the recruitment of teachers with a background in Arabic Language Education and encouraging further master's studies, including teachers in seminars, training, and workshops, habituation to Arabic, providing student motivation and providing teaching materials and digital media to support Arabic language learning. Future research is needed to examine more deeply the innovation of Arabic language learning in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah

Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze how the personality competence model of Islamic Religious Education teachers is appropriate in the VUCA era. This study uses the literature study method by analyzing various scientific articles, books, and credible websites that are relevant to the topic that the researcher raises. Researchers conducted an analysis to filter what kind of personality is appropriate in the VUCA era according to Prof. Akhyak. Personality after being filtered, then categorized based on Bennett's scheme; volatility versus agility, uncertanity versus information, complexity versus restructuring, and ambiguity versus experimentation. The results of the study show that the appropriate personality models in the VUCA era are: (1) Volatility can managed with benefit-oriented personality, open minded, and community oriented (2) Uncertainty can managed with Islamic scholar personality, cross-difference information-digging personality, and thinker personality (3) Complexity can managed with community cooperation personality, interactive personality to the community, and interactive personality to colleagues (4) Ambiguity can managed with researcher personality, it means that PAI teachers conduct regular investigations in order to create higher quality learning.
