Abstract

Abstract: This research aims to investigate the impact of ecology-based digital literacy on the formation of ecological awareness among millennial generations in higher education. Millennials, as a significant demographic group, play a key role in shaping the future of the environment. In this context, digital literacy serves as an essential tool for disseminating knowledge and motivating pro-environmental actions. The research method employed a case study approach within the higher education environment, involving a group of millennial students participating in ecology-based digital literacy. Data were collected through initial observations, pre- and post-assessment of ecological awareness, and in-depth interviews. The research results indicate that ecology-based digital literacy can enhance ecological awareness among millennials. Participants or informants demonstrated an understanding of environmental issues and skills in using digital technology to disseminate pro-environmental information. In-depth interviews revealed that ecology-based digital literacy provides additional motivation for engaging in concrete actions that support environmental sustainability. The research findings have significant implications for the development of more effective environmental education and targeted pro-environment communication strategies for the millennial generation. In conclusion, ecology-based digital literacy can be a powerful means of shaping ecological awareness among millennials and motivating them to take positive actions in support of environmental sustainability.

Abstract

Non-formal education plays a crucial role in providing learning opportunities to individuals who may not have access to formal schooling. In the context of Pamekasan, a region in Indonesia characterized by its diverse culture and socio-economic background, non-formal education serves as a vital tool for addressing educational gaps and empowering marginalized communities. This research aims to explore the perspectives and experiences of the local community in Pamekasan regarding non-formal education initiatives. By understanding the community views, we can identify the strengths, challenges, and potential improvements needed in non-formal education programs. This research uses a descriptive quantitative method with random survey data collection techniques to 60 respondents consisting of productive age adolescents and parents. This study seeks to contribute valuable insights that can inform policymakers, educators, and stakeholders in enhancing the effectiveness and relevance of non-formal education in Pamekasan. Through this exploration, we aim to shed light on the importance of community engagement and participation in shaping educational policies and practices. The results of this study are community perceptions of non-formal education, the role of non-formal education, and the benefits of non-formal education.

Abstract

The development of  Learning Materials  itself as a benchmark for lecturers' mastery of the material in the higher education curriculum. Various media can be utilized in the development of  Learning Materials  to ensure the presentation of information that is enjoyable and meaningful. Historical review has proven that existing and developed  Learning Materials  are very useful in the lives of students, but when reviewing the standard education based outcome (OBE) which is correlated with the standard of graduate competency, it is still considered necessary to develop  Learning Materials  in every educational institution or university. Judging from the study that was conducted, this research is a qualitative research with a phenomenological type. Phenomenology is also a philosophical approach to investigating human experience. In this study, researchers are required to develop  Learning Materials  from the results of investigations into  Learning Materials  that have been developed by previous experts. The results of phenomenological research show that the delivery of messages and ideas in  Learning Materials  must be designed based on the subjective experiences of students. Narrative, dialogical, visualization, reflective, experiential, and technology-based approaches have proven effective in creating meaningful learning.

Abstract

The 21st century demands an educational approach that emphasizes not only declarative knowledge but also the early development of higher-order thinking skills, particularly critical thinking. Unfortunately, learning patterns at the elementary school level are still largely dominated by conventional approaches that position students as passive recipients. This study aims to explore in depth the integration of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model with constructivist theory to foster critical thinking skills among elementary school students. A qualitative approach with a case study design was employed at SD Negeri 25 Tanjung Kerja, Kapuas Hulu Regency. Data were collected through participatory observation, semi-structured interviews, and document analysis, and analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman & Saldaña. The findings reveal that the integration of PBL and constructivism significantly enhances students’ abilities in interpretation, evaluation, and logical reasoning. Teachers, acting as facilitators, provide space for open dialogue and scaffolding aligned with students' zones of proximal development. The implications of this study support a transformation in elementary education towards a more active, reflective, and meaningful learning process for the cognitive development of Indonesian children
