Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to examine the effect of electronic word of mouth (eWOM) on the visit intention of potential tourists in Malang City to visit Museum Angkut, both directly and indirectly through the mediating roles of destination image and destination trust. Design/Methodology/Approach – This study employed an explanatory research design to examine the causal relationships among variables through hypothesis testing. A purposive sampling technique was used to select 214 respondents aged at least 18 years who resided in Malang City, were aware of Museum Angkut, had never visited the museum, and had communicated on internet forums or read online reviews about Museum Angkut as a tourism destination. Data were collected using a validated questionnaire and analyzed through path analysis. Findings – The results indicate that electronic word of mouth has a significant positive effect on destination image and destination trust but does not have a significant direct effect on visit intention. However, destination image and destination trust both have significant positive effects on visit intention and significantly mediate the relationship between electronic word of mouth and visit intention. Originality/Value – This study contributes to tourism marketing literature by empirically integrating electronic word of mouth, destination image, and destination trust into a single model to explain visit intention in the context of a thematic museum. The findings provide practical insights for tourism destination managers in designing digital marketing strategies that strengthen destination image and trust to increase potential tourists’ intention to visit.

Design/Methodology/Approach – This study employed an explanatory research design with a quantitative approach. Data were collected through questionnaires from 170 respondents in Malang City selected using a purposive sampling technique. The data were analyzed using multiple regression analysis to examine the causal relationships between brand prestige, brand awareness, brand preference, and purchase intention. Findings – The results indicate that environmental knowledge, environmental awareness, and environmental concern each have a positive and significant effect on green product purchase decisions. Simultaneously, these three variables significantly influence green product purchase decisions. The adjusted coefficient of determination (Adjusted R²) further demonstrates that a substantial proportion of the variation in green product purchase decisions can be explained by the proposed model, while the remaining variation is attributable to other factors not included in this study. Originality/Value – This study contributes to the green consumer behavior literature by empirically examining the combined effects of environmental knowledge, environmental awareness, and environmental concern on green product purchase decisions among Generation Z consumers in an emerging market context. The findings provide practical insights for businesses and policymakers in developing sustainability-oriented marketing strategies and environmental education initiatives to encourage the adoption of green products.

Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to examine the effect of e-service quality on the e-loyalty of ShopeeFood users in Malang City, with e-customer satisfaction serving as a mediating variable.   Design/Methodology/Approach – This study employed an explanatory research design with a quantitative approach. Data were collected through an online questionnaire from 175 ShopeeFood users residing in Malang City who were selected using a purposive sampling technique. The collected data were analyzed using the measurement model and structural model with SmartPLS 4.0 to examine both direct and indirect relationships among the variables.   Findings – The results indicate that e-service quality has a positive and significant effect on e-customer satisfaction but does not have a significant direct effect on e-loyalty. In contrast, e-customer satisfaction has a positive and significant effect on e-loyalty and significantly mediates the relationship between e-service quality and e-loyalty. These findings demonstrate that improvements in electronic service quality enhance customer loyalty primarily by increasing customer satisfaction rather than through a direct effect.   Originality/Value – This study contributes to e-service and customer relationship literature by revealing the mediating role of e-customer satisfaction in explaining how e-service quality translates into e-loyalty in the online food delivery industry. The findings provide empirical evidence that customer satisfaction is the key mechanism linking digital service quality to long-term loyalty. Practically, the study offers strategic insights for food delivery platforms to prioritize service quality improvements that enhance customer satisfaction as a means of strengthening user retention.
