Abstract

One is that audio-visual media can help students think creatively and find their understanding in mastering the material being taught, namely animated videos. An Animated video is a video that contains a movement of objects that are designed to be attractive with a specific purpose. This study aims to produce appropriate animated video learning media on human movement system material for class XI SMA Pekanbaru students. This study uses the ADDIE development model which consists of the stages of analysis, planning, development, implementation, and evaluation, and this research only reaches the development stage. Determination of the sample using a random sampling technique, and the number of samples is 10 students from each school. The data obtained in the development of this animated video media was by validating the material, media, and teachers, as well as looking at student responses to the media which was developed using student response questionnaires. The data analysis technique used the scale method with a Likert modification. The results of the validation by experts were in the Very Valid category and received very good responses from students. Based on the results of the validation and student responses, it can be seen that the validity level is very valid and it can be stated that the animated video learning media developed is very valid for use in learning. In addition, this animated video learning media still needs to be continued to the implementation and evaluation stages.

Abstract

The existence of contextual learning resources that are able to accommodate students' enrichment materials independently is still not found too much. The aims of this study were to: 1) examine the diversity of fauna at Gembira Loka Zoo; and 2) developing an e-module for material enrichment on the topic of biodiversity by utilizing the results of research on faunal diversity at Gembira Loka Zoo. This Research and Development (RnD) used three main stages of the 4D model, namely define, design, and develop. The results showed that at Gembira Loka Zoo there were 88 types of fauna, including Class Gnathostomata, Class Amphibia, Reptiles, Aves, and Mammals, then the conservation agency used SEAZA guidelines for the welfare and care of the fauna. The data is then developed into an e-module for the enrichment of fauna biodiversity which has the potential as a learning resource. The e-modules that have been compiled are considered feasible by material experts, media, and educators to be used on the correctness of the concept as well as aspects of content, appearance, graphics, programming, language, and independent learning. The compiled e-modules can also be read and considered attractive by students in the aspects of content, appearance, programming, language, and independent learning. The modules that have been developed through this research are expected to be used for biology enrichment in various schools in Yogyakarta.

Abstract

Hands-on activities experienced many obstacles during the Covid-19 pandemic. So, students' skills in the laboratory were also affected. In addition, the inculcation of Islamic values in learning needs more attention in religion-based schools. The study aimed to develop a design of e-laboratory instruction based on the unity of sciences paradigm on biotechnology material (producing tempeh) and prove its feasibility. This study uses the ADDIE model by Dick and Carey (1996). The data collection techniques are interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. The subjects of this study were students of twelfth graders in science class in SMA Hasyim Asy'ari Pekalongan, Central Java. The validation results from material and media experts show that e-laboratory instruction is very eligible, 91.81% and 85.38%. While the integration expert validators state that design is very high (86.67%). The biology teacher's response reached 85.71% (very high). The result of the pilot test is 85.41%, categorized as very high. The e-laboratory instruction based on the unity of sciences paradigm in producing tempeh is suitable for learning.

Abstract

The development of information technology encourages innovation in the world of education, including in the development of electronic-based learning resources. However, developing electronic encyclopedias based on the diversity of fauna in Indonesia still needs improvement. This research aims to develop an electronic encyclopedia about bird diversity as a source of learning biology. According to the Lee and Owens developing model, this research uses five steps of the developing process. In the final step, the evaluation involved 37 Biology Education Department students at the University of Muhammadiyah Malang with a pretest-posttest group design. Data collection uses validation sheets, pretest-posttest questions, and questionnaires. Pretest and posttest data were analyzed using a gain score to measure its effectiveness in improving student learning outcomes. The effectiveness test results for each indicator item show that the average score for all aspects shows a percentage of 94.7% (very practical). Furthermore, the gain score is 0.47, which indicates that the encyclopedia is feasible, valid, and effective in improving students' cognitive learning outcomes.

Abstract

Science process skills are essential skills that students must possess. The science process skills test is needed to facilitate the measurement, so that test instruments are developed. The developed instrument needs to be validated before it is used. The purpose of this study was to validate the science process skills test instrument so that the developed instrument is valid and can be used to measure student abilities. The research was conducted using a quantitative descriptive method. The study population was all biology education students at UIN Walisongo Semarang-Indonesia, with a sample of 75 students selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data were analyzed using Rasch analysis which was divided into several categories, namely map analysis based on the items and research samples, analysis of the suitability of the items, analysis of separation and reliability, and items’ analysis. The results of Rasch's study show that the developed science process skills test for students proves valid. Participating students have fairly even abilities. The results of the validation of the items did not reveal any misconceptions, the questions were on the abilities of the students, and the questions had varying difficulty ranges. The validity of the science process skills test shows that the test instrument can be used to measure students' science process skills. Test instruments can be used as learning evaluation instruments as well as analysis of student problems related to science process skills.
