<![CDATA[The objective of the research aims to find whether the use of critical literacy approach is effective in improving the students’ critical reading ability at the Smpn 2 Sungguminasa. The researcher used a Pre-experimental method with one group pre-test and post-test, and data collection based on the test. The sample of this research was VIII.6 class which consists of 34 students. The sample was taken by using purposive sampling technique. Based on the findings of the research, the research findings indicate that improvement of the students’ critical reading through the use of a critical literacy approach at the eighth-grade students of Smpn 2 Sungguminasa was improved. It was proved by the mean score of the pre-test (64.14%) and the mean score of the post-test (83.44%); it showed that the students’ critical reading in the post-test was higher than pre-test. Besides, the test value (13.980) which was higher than T-table value (1.692).]]>

<![CDATA[The objective of the research can be used to get the literature and existing research on verbal interaction between teacher and students and gives beneficial reference for future research on the way teacher influences student talk in classroom and The result of this research can be used as information to teacher understand the good interation in class. As for the obstacles faced by teacher that was at different levels of students’ ability so that must think of different techniques in improving the ability of each student and was constrained at a short time during. This research methodology apply qualitative approach and descriptive method. The goals of this study are to get description of how the verbal interaction between teacher and students conducted and the way teacher influences student talk in classroom interaction. This research was done at class XII IPA there were 30 students and used only 5 students and 1 teacher use in a sample. The result of the this research the verbal interaction between teacher and students in the classroom for XI grade students at SMAN 5 Barru. Verbal interactions between teachers and students have a relationship with each other and influence each. As for teacher strategies to get student’s response, There are 4 strategies to get students response which include the use of students and the use of various sources or activities in learning, this means that in the formulation of new strategies until the work plan preparation process has not yet achieved action.]]>

<![CDATA[This research aimed to find out whether there is any significant difference achievement between the students taught through sketch to stretch and the students taught through without sketch to stretch at the eighth grade of SMPN 32 Bulukumba. The students’ reading comprehension was restricted to two indicators namely main idea and supporting details. The researcher used a quasi-experimental research with two groups: one group as an experimental group and another group as a control group. The sample were class VIII.2 as an experimental group which consisted of 14 students and class VIII.3 as a control group which consisted of 14 students. The instrument of this research was reading test. The result of the research showed that the value of t-test in post-test both of groups was 2.519. it was higher than t-table namely 2.056 at the level of significant (p) = 0.05 with degree of freedom (df) = 26. The differences between t-test and t-table value was significant differences. It means that the Null Hypothesis (H0) was rejected an alternative (H1) was accepted. Therefore, it can be concluded that there is the significant differences achievement between the students taught through sketch to stretch and the students taught through without sketch to stretch.]]>

<![CDATA[Research about online media was carried out during a pandemic era, online media can make easier for teacher to teach even without face to face. This research aimed to find out (1) The kinds of online media used by the teacher in learning English; (2) The students' perception of the online media used by the teacher in learning English. This used a Qualitative research; the instrument was an interview. The interview was distributed to the students that consisted of 20 students of the eleventh grade students at SMA Negeri 9 Gowa. The findings of the research showed the kinds of the online media used by teacher when learning english were Google classroom, Youtube, Google form and WhatsApp (WA). The researcher also gave some positive perception toward the online media used by teacher in learning english that is : The media help students to understand about the lesson easily and add insight and references, Increase students’ motivation and interest in the learning, learning is more interesting, fun, relaxed and not boring, prevend and decide the spread of Covid-19 and effective, efficiend and saving time.]]>

<![CDATA[The objective of this study is to assess out the impact of use of WebQuesrt in teaching reading comprehension, which consists of improving students’ understanding of literal reading comprehension in terms of the main idea and supporting details. This study used pre-experimental. In collecting data, the researcher took the drata from pre-test and post-test. The population of the research was the third semester at FKIP Unismuh Makassar that consisted of 20 students. The results of the research showed that te students’ mean score of rthe pre-test before treatment was 52.30%. While after treatment, the mean score of post-test was 94.90%. The result of the data analysis indicated that there was a significant improvement in the students’ reading ability after being taught using WebQuest. It was proved by the result of the statistical analysis of the degree significance p=0.05 with degree of freedom (df)=19 indicated that the t-test (3.6) and t-table is (2.093) and significant. (2-tailed) 0.000. This suggests that the data of post-test as the final result gave the significant improvement. It’s concludedthat the use of WebQuest is able to give greater contribution in teaching and learning reading comprehension.]]>

<![CDATA[This research aimed at finding out students’ literal reading comprehension by using literary work as a Media. The researcher employed a pre-experimental design, in which pre-test and post-test comparison was used to find out whether the used literary work Media enhance the students’ reading skill, the population of the research was all students of the eleventh grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Gowa which consisted of three classes. The sample was class XI Bahasa which consisted of 28 students’ by using cluster sampling technique. The instruments of this research was reading test. To analyze the score of the students’ achievement in pre-test and post-test the researcher used t-test analyzes. The result of the data showed that there was a significant difference between pre-test and post-test. The value of t-test in terms of main idea was 12.1 and fsupporting detail was 12.5. There figure was greater than the t-table (1.729) at the level of significant (p) = 0.05 degree of freedom (df) = 18. Therefore, it can be said that the null hypothesis (H0) was rejected and the alternative hypothesis (H1) was accepted. It means that there was a significant difference between the students’ reading skill before and after using literary work as a media or it can be stated that the use of literari work as a media was effective in improving students’ reading skill at eleventh grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Gowa.]]>

<![CDATA[The objective of this research was to know the influence of seating arrangement toward students’ participation in learning English, focused on clusters model and pairs model of seating arrangement at the tenth grade students of SMK Negeri 2 Barru. The method of this research was descriptive qualitative method. Collecting the data of this research used observation checklist and video recorded during learning process in the classroom. The result of this research found that clusters model made mostly the students unconcerned in responded the material caused of the group consisted more than two students. Meanwhile, pairs model made the students more enthusiastic in responded the material caused of the students’ engagement is tied together. It could be seen in the percentage of students’ activeness which indicated that there was 64.6% students’ participation in clusters model and 77.5 % students’ partisipation in pairs model of seating arrangement during in learning process. It means that, every seating arrangement had different influence toward students’ active participation in learning English at the classroom.]]>

<![CDATA[The aim of this research was to identify the implementation of a prediction strategy to improve students' reading comprehension of English recount text and student responses in reading through a prediction strategy. The researcher used pre-experimental research and carried out pre-test, treatment and post-test designs and collected test-based data. The sample was a class VIII.D student at MTs. Negeri Luwu Timur, a total of 28 students in the academic year 2020/2021. This sample was taken randomly by lottery. Variables are dependent and independent variables. The data was analyzed using SPSS. The showed that class VIII.D student pre-test results were of sufficient value. The results of this study were that the mean value obtained by the students through the pre-test was (58,14) while the post-test was observed (82,29) as result, the significant value of the paired sample test is lower than the significant level, i.e. 0.000 <0.05. Then find the value of the table t of 1,673. This is because the t value is 40,616>1,673. From these data, it is shown that the use of the prediction strategy in improving students’ reading comprehension on recount text, it can be concluded from the above data that the student's reading comprehension has been improved by using the prediction strategy as a learning tool and students’ can be active in the learning process through the use of the prediction strategy.]]>

<![CDATA[This research aimed to enhance students’ vocabulary mastery at SMPN 8 Donggo Satu Atap by using board race game. The researcher used pre-experimental research where the data gained from the multiple choice test. The population of the research was the eighth grade of SMPN 8 Donggo Satu Atap in the academic year 2020/2021. The sample was taken by using purposive sampling technique and there were 80 students as population and 20 students as sample. The result presented that the mean score of students’ vocabulary mastery pre-test in the term verb was 45.25 become 78.5 in post-test with 73.48% improvement. Then, the mean score in term of adverb was 42.75 in the pre-test become 69 in the post test with 61.40% improvement. The t-test analysis presented that by applying 0.05 level of significant with the 19 degree freedom (df=20-1), t-test in the form of verb and adverb in vocabulary was greater than t-table which were 11.62>2.093 and 13.72>2.093. It means that, board race game has significant effect toward students’ vocabulary mastery in the term of verb and adverb.]]>

<![CDATA[The Research aimed at investigating the use of Quizizz Application in Improving students’ reading skill. A Pre Experimental design was employed only one clasess of the tenth graders at one school in Kab.Pangkep selected with total sampling as sampel. The data were obtained through a pre-test and a post-test. The Reading Comprehension was convering identify Literal Comprehension (The Main Ideas) and Interpretative Comprehension (Understanding Vocabulary). The compulation shows that the used Quizizz Application was improving the students’ reading comprehension skill, students’ reading comprehension skill using the Quizizz Application indicate better learning results than before the Quizizz Application was applied. The result of pre-test and post-test, the result of t-test value of level significant (p) = 0,05 with degree of freedom in Literal (Main Idea) (df) = 21; in Interpretative (understanding Vocabulary)(df) = 21. Indicated t-table value is 1.720 and t-table Literal (Main Idea) is 6.868; in Interpretative (Undestanding Vocabulary) 4500. After the calculating the value t-test analysis, the is it compared with t-table value. As the result, the researcher notices that the value of t-test is higher than the t-table. It means that null hypothesis (H0) is rejected and alternative hypothesis (H1) is accepted. Because there is difference substantial mean score of the test that have provided by researcher using Quizizz Application in Reading Class.]]>
