The objective of this research was to find out the improvement of the students’ vocabulary mastery through the use of Jeopardy Strategy at the seven grade students of SMPN 26 Makassar 2017/2018. The research applied quasi-experimental design with two groups’ pre-test and post-test design. The population of this research was the students of SMPN 26 Makassar 2017/2018 which consisted of 364 students of 9 class. The sample was taken by using purposive sampling technique which consisted of two groups. The researcher took the thirty-seven students as experimental class and the thirty-six students as control class. The instrument of this research was a multiple choice, matching words and fill the blank test used in pre-test and post-test. The result of the data indicated that there was a significant difference between students’ post-test in experimental class and controlled class. The mean score of post-test (70, 11) in experimental class was greater than the mean score of post-test (64, 11) in controlled class. From t-test, the researcher found that the value of t-test (3,172) was greater than t-table (1,994) at the level of significance 0.05 with degree of freedom (df) = 71. Finally the improvement of the students’ vocabulary mastery by using Jeopardy Strategy was improve significantly.

This research aimed to find out the development of the students’ ability to write narrative text viewed from both generic structure and language use at XI IPA of SMA Muhammadiyah Sungguminasa, Gowa. The type of this research was a Classroom Action Research consisted of two cycles. One cycle consisted of four meetings. Thus, that there were eight meetings for two cycles. This classroom action research was done at XI IPA of SMA Muhammadiyah Sungguminasa, Gowa. The research subjects were the students of class XI in 2012/2013 academic year with 26 students. Those consisted of 10 men and 16 women. The instruments of this research were writing test and observation. The research findings indicated that the Use of SWELL Method could develop the students’ ability to write narrative text viewed from the generic structure and language use. It was proved by the students’ mean score in cycle 2 test result was (77.81) which developed 16.31 % from the cycle 1 mean score (66.98). It was highly developed from a diagnostic test (D – test) mean score (58.69). The students’ development in cycle 2 indicated that it had met the researcher score target (75), and considered to be successful criteria in developing the students’ ability to write narrative text covering generic structure and language use.Keywords: writing, development, social interactive writing

The research questions of this research were how is the improvement of students’ skill in writing descriptive text views from its grammar through writing process approach at the second grade (TKJ Department) of SMK Grafika Pallangga, how is the improvement of students’ skill in writing descriptive text views from its organization through writing process approach at the second grade (TKJ Department) students of SMK Grafika Pallangga, and how is the activeness of students in writing descriptive text through writing process approach at the second grade (TKJ Department) students of SMK Grafika Pallangga. The researcher used Classroom Action Research (CAR). The aimed of this research were to find out the improvement of students’ writing skill and their activeness in the learning process through Writing Process Approach.Two cycles had been conducted, where each cycle consisted of four meetings. It employed writing test as the instrument. A number of subjects of the research were 42 students in the second grade (TKJ Department) conducted of 19 women and 23 men. The researcher took real data from the school to know the students’ writing skill. The results of the student's writing test in cycle 1 and cycle 2 had increased in different scores. There was increasing by students at the end action of the second cycle. The research findings indicated that use of writing process approach could increase the students’ writing skill. The means scores of students in Diagnostic test was 59.84 became 66.38 in cycle 1, and after revision in the cycle 2 the mean score in cycle 2 was 70.79 by implemented of descriptive text. The successful of minimal criteria (KKM) was 65 while cycle 1, there were 2 (4.76%) students get poor, 27 (64.29%) get fair, and 13 (30.95%) get good meant that students who achieved the successful minimal criteria (KKM) more than a half of them. In cycle 2 there was 25 (59.52%) get fair and 17 (40.48%) get fair.Keywords: Writing approach, students, and descriptive.

Pemanfaatan aplikasi pada pembelajaran jarak jauh seperti yang dilakukan saat ini amatlah tepat sehingga proses pembelajaran dapat terus terselenggara dengan baik. Belajar dari rumah yang ditetapkan oleh pemerintah membuat penggunaan aplikasi pembelajaran berbasis teknologi online terus diminati dan menjadi pilihan yang tepat. Penggunaan aplikasi Schoology merupakan salah satu portal yang digunakan dalam pembelajaran dalam hal ini pembelajaran bahasa Inggris. PKM ini dilaksanakan dengan tujuan untuk memanfaatkan aplikasi Schoology dalam pembelajaran bahasa Inggris di SMP Negeri 1 Sungguminasa. PKM ini dilaksanakan untuk membantu siswa belajar bahasa Inggris dari rumah dengan menggunakan aplikasi Schoology yang diselenggarakan sebanyak 8 kali pertemuan. PKM ini juga bertujuan untuk membantu siswa meningkatkan pengetahuan dan kosakata bahasa Inggris mereka. Hasilnya terlihat bahwa peserta didik tertarik dan termotivasi belajar bahasa Inggris dari rumah. Hal itu diketahui dengan menlihat tingkat partisipatif siswa yang tinggi dan tugas-tugas yang diselesaikan dengan baik. . Selanjutnya juga terlihat bahwa siswa memiliki pemahaman yang lebih baik akan pengetahuan dan kosakata bahasa Inggris.Kata kunci: aplikasi Schoology, pengetahuan, kosakata bahasa Inggris

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini selain sebagai tri darma perguruan tinggi, kegiatan ini di latarbelakangi oleh semangat untuk meningkatkan kompetensi para guru TK/PAUD di Kecamatan SombaOpu Kabupaten Gowa. Untuk mewujudkan hal tersebut maka guru-guru TK/PAUD perlu dibekali kemampuan meneliti, bentuk penelitian yang paling tepat untuk para guru TK/Paud adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK). Para guru yang mau naik pangkat di wajibkan untuk melakukan penelitian dengan harapan untuk memperbaiki kualitas pembelajaran, PTK dianggap penelitian yang paling cocok bagi guru , karena persoalan yang sering dijumpai oleh guru terjadi dalam setiap kegiatan pembelajaran, Mengingat pentingnya penelitian tindakan kelas ini maka guru-guru yang dimaksud disini bukan hanya guru – guru dari kalangan pegawai negeri sipil, tapi guru yang berstatus swastapun(guru honor/yayasan) hendaknya dibekali dengan kemampuan melakukan penelitian tindakan kelas. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdian masyarakat ini yaitu dalam bentuk pelatihan, sebagai berikut: 1) melakukan presentase; 2) diskusi; 3) sesi tanya jawab; 4) latihan pembuatan PTK kepada peserta baik individu maupun kelompok. Adapun tujuan dari pengabdian kepada masyarakat (PKM) ini adalah: 1) agar para guru-guru di Paud/TK dapat meningkatkan kompetensinya dalam menyusun karya ilmiah penelitian tindakan kelas; 2) Melatih para guru agar guru-guru di Paud/TK bisa membuat sendiri karya ilmiah kenaikan pangkatnya. Hasil dari kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa: 1) pelatihan PTK sangat diperlukan oleh para guru-guru Paud/TK, disebabkan minimnya pengetahuan guru-guru Paud/TK dalam hal pembuatan karya ilmiah PTK; 2) Kemampuan guru dalam penggunaan IPTEK yang terbatas

This research aimed at finding out whether or not the implementation of context clues strategy is effective to improve students` reading comprehension at the eighth grade of MTs. Al-Falah Baras Mamuju Utara. The students` reading comprehension was restricted to two indicators namely literal comprehension (main idea and conclusion) and interpretative comprehension (conclusion). The researcher used preexperimental research. The researcher conducted pre-test, treatment and post-test in the total of six meetings. Reading test was used as instrument. The samples of the research were 23 students in VIII Putri class. The researcher took real data from school to know the students` reading comprehension. The result of the research showed that the t-test values in terms of literal comprehension (5.52) and interpretative comprehension (5.27). The final t-test values (5.395) were higher that ttable (1.717) at the level of significant (p) = 0.05 with degree of freedom (df) = 22. The differences between t-test and t-table was very significant. It means that the Null Hypothesis (H0) was rejected and Alternative Hypothesis (H1) was accepted. Therefore, it can be concluded that implementation context clues strategy is effective to improve students` reading comprehension

Research about online media was carried out during a pandemic era, online media can make easier for teacher to teach even without face to face. This research aimed to find out (1) The kinds of online media used by the teacher in learning English; (2) The students' perception of the online media used by the teacher in learning English. This used a Qualitative research; the instrument was an interview. The interview was distributed to the students that consisted of 20 students of the eleventh grade students at SMA Negeri 9 Gowa. The findings of the research showed the kinds of the online media used by teacher when learning english were Google classroom, Youtube, Google form and WhatsApp (WA). The researcher also gave some positive perception toward the online media used by teacher in learning english that is : The media help students to understand about the lesson easily and add insight and references, Increase students’ motivation and interest in the learning, learning is more interesting, fun, relaxed and not boring, prevend and decide the spread of Covid-19 and effective, efficiend and saving time.

This research aimed to enhance students’ vocabulary mastery at SMPN 8 Donggo Satu Atap by using board race game. The researcher used pre-experimental research where the data gained from the multiple choice test. The population of the research was the eighth grade of SMPN 8 Donggo Satu Atap in the academic year 2020/2021. The sample was taken by using purposive sampling technique and there were 80 students as population and 20 students as sample. The result presented that the mean score of students’ vocabulary mastery pre-test in the term verb was 45.25 become 78.5 in post-test with 73.48% improvement. Then, the mean score in term of adverb was 42.75 in the pre-test become 69 in the post test with 61.40% improvement. The t-test analysis presented that by applying 0.05 level of significant with the 19 degree freedom (df=20-1), t-test in the form of verb and adverb in vocabulary was greater than t-table which were 11.62>2.093 and 13.72>2.093. It means that, board race game has significant effect toward students’ vocabulary mastery in the term of verb and adverb.

Pre Experimental research with pre-test and post-test was used in the research. This study sample was class VII.B at SMPN 1 Parigi in academic year 2020/2021 which consist of 22 students. The research findings indicated that at SMPN 1 Parigi, random text strategy will enhance learner’s literal reading comprehension. It was proven by the mean score of pre-test was 46.36 and post-test was 77.77. The improvement of pre-test to be post-test was 67.75%. The result of improvement is also proved with t-test value. The researcher found that the value of t-test was 8.75 was greater that t-table 2.07. It was concluded that the use of the Random Text strategy at SMPN 1 Parigi was effective to improve the literal reading understanding of the students.

This research aimed to find out whether or not the use of VOA (Voice of America) Learning English improve the students’ speaking skill in terms of accuracy and fluency at tenth grade students of SMK Negeri 1 Pinrang. The researcher used pre-experimental design with one group pre-test post-test design. The researcher conducted pre-test, treatment and post-test in the total of six meetings. The sample was class X OTKP 2 (Otomatisasi dan Tata Kelola Perkantoran) which consisted of 19 students. The instrument of this research was speaking test.The result of the research showed that there was an improvement between pre-test and post-test. The mean score of post-test in accuracy (68.78) was higher than the mean score of pre-test (51.52). Thus, the improvement of students’ accuracy was 33.50%. Moreover, the mean score of post-test in fluency (70.52) was higher than the mean score of pre-test (53.31). Thus, the improvement of students’ fluency was 32.28%. Moreover, based on the data analysis, the t-test value of accuracy was higher than the t-table value (18.55>2.101) and the t-test value of fluency was also higher than t-table (19.55>2.101). It means the Null hypothesis (H0) was rejected and Alternative Hypothesis (H1) was accepted. Therefore, the researcher concluded that the use of VOA (Voice of America) Learning English can improve students’ speaking skill at tenth grade students of SMK Negeri 1 Pinrang.
