This article is a theological study to find the relevance of the Parable of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:25-37) and various crucial issues posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. There are some common values of life that can be extracted from Luke 10:25-37 and the COVID-19 pandemic. These values are about living without discrimination, the practice of charity and calling to be neighbors (to be brothers to all people). These values are a challenge for the nations of the world, a global calling, and at the same time a prerequisite for realizing a new civilization, humanity after COVID-19. This simple study uses the historical-critical method and is equipped with inter-text hermeneutics method.

Metaphor is one of interesting objects to be research for its rich cognition and use. This study aims at investigating the conceptualization of heart metaphors and to describe the image schemas of heart metaphors. The data of the study were collected from Corpus of Contemporary American English (COCA) which provides significant data relevant to the study. This is a literature study using a qualitative descriptive study through the framework of the Conceptual Metaphor Theory (CMT) proposed by Lakoff and Johnson. After the selection of metaphorical expressions of heart, the analysis was conducted to categorize the conceptual metaphor of each selected data. The image schemas were then drawn in accordance to the concept given. The study found that people mainly use metaphors to state these three types of concepts of heart metaphors, they are; HEART IS A CONTAINER, HEART IS AN OBJECT, and HEART IS HUMAN/BEING. These main concepts were then elaborated into several smaller categorizations. There are three image schemas drawn in accordance to the types of the conceptual metaphors like containment schema, compulsion schema, and removal of restraint schema. Then, image schemas are helpful to draw the mapping of abstract thing of target domain into more concrete thing of target domain.

Education is viewed as being distant from the reality of students’ life. Through contextual learning, students suppose to understand social reality and to have skills also knowledge to prepare their lives after graduated. However, this contextual learning method is often not a priority for schools and teachers due to limitation in meeting curriculum standards as well as limited expertise of teachers to provide education that is in accordance with the lives and realities of their students. To fill the gap in the provision of contextual education, it is necessary to take an active role from various groups, such as universities through community service activities (pengabdian masyarakat) to complement primary and secondary schools teaching by introducing knowledge and skills connected to student’s experiences and social realities. Community service activities carried out by Department of International Relations and Informatics Engineering, Parahyangan Catholic University at Bani Yasin Sukabumi Islamic boarding school (pesantren) that aim to assist the pesantren with contextual knowledge and experience relevant to their students’ day to day environment. On the one hand, this activity provides students with local content such as agriculture for youth, migrant workers issues and process, basic literacy knowledge, and values in the affective domain. Students can also connect their daily lives experiences with the introduced knowledge and skills in a pleasant atmosphere. This activity further encourages the importance of participation and collaboration for effective contextual learning process. On the other hand, this community service activity is constrained by the pandemic situation which hinders the process of reflection and optimization of students’ creativity to process the knowledge gained from this interaction into how they solve their daily life problems.

This paper aims to describe the reasons behind the importance of “religious moderation” to prevent radicalism in Indonesia. The method used in this paper is literature study (books, journals, encyclopedias, and dictionaries). The results of this study indicate that "religious moderation" has the opportunity to maintain the nobility of religion so that it remains relevant and significant for all ages. In conclusion, a significant and relevant religious vision and mission to bring beauty, peace, a sense of kinship and unity in social diversity becomes manifest in "religious moderation". Therefore, the call for "religious moderation" is imperative, namely: religion must be lived and practiced for the liberation of humans from extreme attitudes and actions that risk dehumanizing. In that perspective, religion should not be used as an instrument to justify destructive actions. Instead, make religion a source of creative inspiration to continuously improve the quality of human life everywhere.

The main narrative in Fratelli Tutti's encyclical calls and challenges interfaith dialogue. This affirmirms the ontological nature of man as a social entity with an interdependent character on several important and intrinsic elements such as community and its social environment which can then be seen as a kind of multicultural encounter. Continuously, interfaith dialogue, growing “at the grassroots” and community-based includes reciprocal and sustainable relationships. Individual and collective consciousness is strongly influenced by the relationship with the social environment and its universal context, including faith, belief, science, technology, values, art, language, habits, customs. The literature study method applied in this study shows that ethical awareness gives birth to responsibility and moral considerations at the social level when interacting, producing, relating, and being cultured. So this ontological and ethical dimension - interdependence and moral responsibility - is one of the main value systems in any vision of interfaith dialogue. This means that this interfaith dialogue involves a major and strategic vision and project of the 21st century on how human civilization reaffirms the nature of humanity in togetherness with others and the environment.

The era of borrowing Didi Kempot's ambyar reveals the symptoms and turmoil. Ambyar does not only captures politics, economics, and the environment, but even our religious ways are also ambyar. Religion let convey holiness or being a saint is considered irrelevant. In this age of ambyar, there is a tension between the holy (the sacred) and the profane (the profane). So, is it true that modern people cannot be sacred? This study analyzes this problem with the design of a literature study, in the approach of analyzing the philosophy of religion Mircea Eliade. The results of the study: through the central concept of restoring holiness with systematic stages, Eliade drew back the profane to the holy. The implications of such conclusions are 1) Modern society is often defined as a human being who affirms holiness and is attracted to the profane. Meanwhile, sacred events existed only in archaic times and were lived by archaic humans. Repetition is the key to the restoration of the profane world to the holy world. Repetition turns profane time into mythic time, past time into a re-experiential present. 2) We may still experience holiness in our daily lives in repetition, in the present moment. However, profanity and holiness are the existential choices of the man himself

Today's religious identity is often understood and practiced in a negative context. Cases such as religion-based hate speech, identity politics, intolerance, and discrimination arise due to the wrong paradigm of strengthening religious identity. The purpose of this study is to offer another perspective on strengthening religious identity and nationality that puts forward global ethics as an alternative in strengthening religious identity through interreligious dialogue. This scientific article refers to research with a qualitative approach using the netnographic method which is a case study through digital data tracing. In addition, this research also raises the idea of Hans Küng's global ethics. The results of this study are in the form of offers in developing interreligious dialogue in Indonesia, especially those related to the consistency of identity, culture, and Pancasila values that put forward the principles of global ethics. Interreligious dialogue that needs to be worked out together is a dialogue that emphasizes human values.

The digital media that is currently developing makes human activities centered around digital media. However, there are various negative impacts of digital media that are detrimental to humans, such as being affected by inaccurate information (hoax). The purpose of this study was to determine the readiness of Unpar students in facing the development of digitalization to avoid confusion and the spread of hoaxes in digital media. This study uses quantitative methods, data collection is carried out by conducting a survey via google form to Parahyangan Catholic University students from all generations and faculties with 80 respondents. Based on the results of the survey and discussion of the survey, it shows that the majority of Unpar students have received hoax news through digital media, particularly across group chats and social media like Instagram and Facebook. According to most Unpar students, the factors that cause the number of hoaxes circulating in digital media are the public's tendency to easily believe in new information or news and the lack of public digital literacy. As well as effective efforts to minimize hoax news circulating in digital media is to increase people's digital literacy through educational institutions such as schools, universities, and other educational institutions. In addition, preventive steps that can be taken so as not to be easily consumed by hoaxes are critical in receiving information and not easily believing in news that is not yet known to be true.

Economic improvement through foreign investment in the plantation sector, for example, increasing capitalization and plantation expansion continues to erode customary land. Customary land encroachment is an issue that often sticks to the expansion of oil palm plantations. An unfavorable mechanism for resolving land conflicts led to prolonged resistance between the Peasants and the rulers. This research uses qualitative methods with ethnographic studies, with critical analysis. Data collection techniques through interviews, participatory observation, literature studies, and documentation support data obtained from the field. The selection of informants uses snowball sampling. The case in Nagari Lingkuang Aua is viewed from the point of view of ecological politics and Peasant Resistance. Research findings show that land conflicts between farmers and companies have been occurring for a long time. The demands of the crate society were not taken seriously by the company. the company is stalling for time by taking refuge behind the HGU permits they have. Such conditions are also supported by the weak critical reasoning of local governments. They tend to protect the company and not investigate further because the company already has an HGU. The disillusionment of the farming community made them continue their resistance until now.
