Abstract

The compulsory education program has been implemented since 1994. However, the mean years of schooling of youth in Papua Province is still below the national figure and is the lowest mean years of schooling in Indonesia. Meanwhile, the rate of continuing to high school in Papua Province is also the lowest order and has a gap that is quite far compared to West Papua Province. Youth should be or have completed 12 years of compulsory education. However, the low rate of continuing to high school indicates that there are youth who have dropped out of school. The incidence of dropping out of school will encourage youth to enter the job market early. By using survival analysis, this study aims to determine the socio-demographic background of youth who have dropped out of school. Youth who come from poor households status have the highest risk of dropping out of school. Youth with household heads who work in informal sector and unemployment household heads have a higher risks to not complete education, than household heads who work in formal sector.

Abstract

Women have an important role in both the family and society. The increasing role of women in the workforce shows the higher motivation of women to work because of better education. In general, a person will minimize his travel time. However, 28 percent of commuters in Greater Jakarta traveled 90 minutes or more. In fact, women's travel patterns are relatively shorter due to household responsibilities. Long-duration commuting that is carried out continuously can be bad for life, and women are more at risk of being affected. This issue needs to be further investigated to find out what characteristics are driving female commuter workers on long-duration commuting. The method used is a binary probit regression. Based on the results of the study note that the level of education, income level, mode of transportation, and homeownership status positively affect the long-duration commuting. The state needs to pay attention to the welfare of its population, including women. With this research, it is hoped that solutions can be given so that women can travel shorter so that the impact of long-duration commuting can be minimized and still be able to provide maximum benefits for their families and work.

Abstract

Ekonomi digital lahir dan berkembang seiring penggunaan teknologi informasi dan komunikasi yang juga semakin mengglobal di dunia. Keberadaan ekonomi digital ditandai dengan semakin maraknya perkembangan bisnis atau transaksi perdagangan yang memanfaatkan internet sebagai media komunikasi, kolaborasi, dan kooperasi antar perusahaan ataupun individu. Dalam mewujudkan pembangunan ekonomi nasional pemerintah perlu memberikan insight untuk menjadi bahan dasar edukasi kepada berbagai pihak dengan memanfaatan Big Data penjualan pada marketplace dalam membentuk profil ekonomi digital daerah. Penelitian dilakukan dengan pendekatan kualitatif menggunakan deskriptif kualitatif metodologi visual site of self, dimana peneliti bertindak sendiri untuk melakukan interpretasi, pemaknaan dan pemahaman terhadap obyek penelitian yang diamati. Pertumbuhan penjualan online dengan Januari sebagai bulan dasar menunjukkan tren naik di Kalimantan Barat hal ini merepresentasikan bahwa ekonomi digital di kalimantan barat dapat tumbuh dan berkembang serta mempengaruhi keadaan ekonomi masyarakat. Ditinjau dari kategori yang telah dikumpulkan banyak kategori yang mengalami pelonjakan dalam pertumbuhan penjualannya dengan Januari sebagai bulan dasarnya. Big Data penjualan pada salah satu marketplace menunjukkan distribusi harga produk yang relatif tersebar dengan selisih yang tidak terlalu besar antar kabupaten/kota di Kalimantan Barat. Produk terbanyak yang terjual di Kalimantan Barat didominasi oleh kategori Voucher dengan jenis barang Pulsa & Data, Voucher Gaming, dan Voucher Belanja termasuk didalamnya Voucher Listrik, Gas, & Air. Kota Pontianak tercatat sebagai daerah dengan penjualan barang terbanyak melalui kategori Perawatan & Kecantikan sebagai komoditasnya dan jenis produk terbanyak berupa Kosmetik Wajah.

Abstract

Pemerintah telah mengupayakan berbagai program responsif gender demi mewujudkan tujuan SDG’s ke-5 yakni kesetaraan gender. Namun, perempuan masih menghadapi kesenjangan khususnya di sektor ketenagakerjaan seperti kesenjangan upah. Oleh sebab itu, Penelitian ini akan menginvestigasi kesenjangan upah antar gender di Kalimantan Timur dengan menggunakan data Sakernas 2018. Data dianalisis dengan menerapkan regresi robust untuk mengatasi pelanggaran asumsi klasik pada model OLS sebagai akibat adanya pencilan. Selanjutnya, dekomposisi Blinder-Oaxaca digunakan untuk mengukur kesenjangan upah antar gender dan mendekomposisikan penyebabnya menjadi perbedaan karakteristik yang dapat diobservasi (explained) dan faktor yang tidak dapat diobservasi (unexplained). Penulis menemukan status perkawinan, pendidikan, pelatihan, jam kerja, status kegiatan, serikat pekerja, lapangan usaha, dan jenis pekerjaan berpengaruh terhadap upah pekerja baik perempuan ataupun laki-laki. Perbedaan persamaan upah kedua gender adalah upah pekerja perempuan juga dipengaruhi oleh pengalaman kerja sementara laki-laki dipengaruhi oleh status dalam rumah tangga. Hasil dekomposisi menyatakan pekerja perempuan menerima upah 36,59 persen lebih rendah dibandingkan laki-laki. Dari total kesenjangan upah, 46,49 persen disebabkan perbedaan karakteristik dan 53,51 persen disebabkan faktor unexplained. Kesenjangan upah antar gender dapat ditekan melalui peningkatan karakteristik perempuan dalam pendidikan, keterlibatan pada sektor formal, jabatan menengah dan tinggi serta pengeliminasian diskriminasi dalam pasar tenaga kerja

Abstract

Inequality economic development causes an economic imbalance between region in Western Indonesia Region (KBI), Eastern Indonesia Region (KTI) and National (Indonesia). The index williamson of KBI, KTI, and National for 2011-2018 show that inequality is still high. An analysis to show whether the economy will converge or diverge should be done. This study aims to provide an overview of the economy and analyze the occurrence of economic convergence at KBI, KTI, and National. This study use panel data analysis approach at KBI (17 provinces), KTI (16 provinces), and National (33 provinces) from 2011 to 2018. The results indicate that the economy at KBI and KTI are still lame. The dispersion of per capita income is decreased or sigma convergence is occurred at KTI and National, while at KBI is not occurred. This study emphasis confirm that absolute and conditional beta convergence is occurred at KBI, KTI, and National. The conditional beta convergence rate shows that regional characteristics are able to accelerate the convergence rate. Variables that positively significant affect economic growth and the convergence process at National level are the length of road, PMTDB, proportion of the workforce employed, and average length of schooling; at the KBI level are the length of road, PMTDB, and the proportion of the workforce employed; whereas at the KTI level are the length of road and the average length of schooling.

Abstract

Unemployment is a major problem faced in various countries both developed and developing countries. The problem of unemployment is inseparable with regard to the dimensions of region or spatial dependency. The existence of spatial dependency indicates that unemployment rate in a region will be related to unemployment rate of neighboring. This study aims to provide an overview unemployment rate (TPT) and variable expected influence it, get the best model in explaining impact of social and population variables on TPT, and analyze impact of social and population from the best model on TPT also unemployment reations between regions. TPT Visual analysis is done by mapping while to get the best model in explaining the influence of social and population variables on TPT begins with the creation of a multiple linear regression models, Then proceed with the diagnosis of presence spatial effects by using the method of Moran’s I and Lagrange Multiplier (LM) test. The spatial model formed is spatial lag model. The best model formed is Spatial Lag Model with significant independent variables. variables affecting TPT in Jakarta, West Java, and Banten are percentage of population's marital status and percentage of the poor population.

Abstract

With a mission to provide high quality statistical data, the data provided by the Statistics Indonesia (Central Bureau of Statistics) must have a small total survey error. The total survey error includes both sampling error and nonsampling error, with nonsampling error playing a bigger role. In surveys or censuses carried out by BPS, the non-ampling error is strongly influenced by the quality of field officers recruited by BPS or commonly referred as “mitra statistik”. High quality “mitra statistik” are recruited through an assessment test. The current assessment test process is still using the Paper and Pencil Test (PPT) method. This method has several problems, especially the safety of the questions and the transparency of the participants' scores. This study aims to develop a computer-based test system to solve problems in the current exam system. The system development method is the modified waterfall method. The result of this research is a computer-based test system called SICATMiS which was developed from OSS TCExam. The system has 3 actors and 5 main menus that can run online or offline. SICATMiS was evaluated using scenario test, user acceptance test, and system usability scale. The scenario test results show that of the 47 scenarios performed, all features were executed perfectly. Of the 14 statements in the user acceptance test, 68% of respondents strongly agree that SICATMiS has met user needs. The SUS evaluation also showed that SICATMiS was very well received and ready to use.

Abstract

Demand for population data at Indonesia Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) is quite high, reaching 35.55% of the total data requests for social statistics. Birth and death data are the main part of population data as a basis for planning development. Almost all sectors and agencies require data on births and deaths. Data on births and deaths can be obtained from census and survey results conducted by BPS or from population administrative data. However, the data from census and survey have a drawback. The data do not describe the current state due to the time span between census and survey is too long and the process from enumeration to dissemination is also long. Population administrative data also has shortcomings. The current system requires people to be active in reporting various important population events that occur in their family environment whom not all are active and disciplined to report. Based on these problems, this study aims to build a system that can record births and deaths without waiting for a time span of 5 or even 10 years and without waiting for the public to report the incident. The birth and death registration system is designed to be implemented online and integrated in health facilities where almost births and deaths occur and are located in almost all sub-districts in Indonesia. The development of this system uses the Waterfall Model method, resulting in two subsystems which are a mobile application with 9 functions and a monitoring website with 5 functions. The test results of the system show that all functions can work well, are acceptable to users, and can solve the problems of current birth and death registration.

Abstract

Revolusi industri 4.0 mengarah ke era digitalisasi dan menjalani semuanya serba digital. Industri 4.0 sebagai produksi dari Cyber-Physical System (CPS) yang terintegrasi dan berkorelasi dengan algoritma, Big Data, hingga Internet of Things (IoT). CPS ialah suatu integrasi antara suatu perhitungan atau komputasi dengan proses fisik dari sistem. Salah satu penerapan CPS adalah IoT yang saling terhubung dengan proses fisik melalui jaringan Internet. IoT berkaitan dengan sistem pintar, seperti smart home, smart office, dan sebagainya sesuai di mana teknologi IoT tersebut diterapkan. Smart home atau smart office merupakan contoh di mana rumah atau gedung perkantoran yang sudah memanfaatkan teknologi IoT sehingga pengoperasian bangunan tersebut menjadi mudah dan saling terintegrasi antar proses fisiknya. BPS salah satu lembaga non-kementerian yang memiliki gedung perkantorannya guna melaksanakan tugas pemerintahannya. Dalam penelitian ini dilakukan kajian penerapan IoT pada Pusdiklat BPS sehingga menjadi gedung perkantoran yang “smart”. Penerapan IoT dilakukan pada sistem penerangan yang ada di Pusdiklat BPS. Sistem penerangan dapat secara otomatis menyalakan lampu jika ada orang di dalam ruangan, serta mematikan lampu jika tidak ada orang di dalam ruangan. Untuk melihat seberapa signifikan pengeluaran energi dengan dan tanpa menggunakan sistem automasi dilakukan uji sampel berpasangan. Hasilnya bahwa terdapat cukup bukti adanya perbedaan penggunaan energi dengan dan tanpa menggunakan sistem automasi.

Abstract

Corona Virus Desease (COVID-19) pandemic is causing health crisis in every region in the world, especially in Indonesia. One of the effective methods against the virus is wearing face mask in public place as the regulation made by the authorities. This paper introduces face mask detection that can be used by the authorities to make mitigation, evaluation, prevention, and action planning against COVID-19. On the other hand, this solution can be used as communication tool to evaluate people’s habit on wearing face mask. The face mask recognition in this study is developed with machine learning algorithm through the image classification method: MobileNetv2. The proposed model can be integrated with surveillance camera to impede the Covid-19 transmission by allowing the detection of people who are not wearing face mask. After the training, validation, and testing phase, the model can provide the percentage of people using face mask in some cities with high accuracy. The data produced also have a strong correlation to the vigilance index of COVID-19.
