Abstract

The quality of education in underdeveloped areas in Indonesia has not received much attention. The measurement of the quality of education as measured by various indicators has not been able to describe the overall quality of education in a region. At the international level, an index to measure the success of educational development has been established, namely the Education for All Development Index (EDI) or the Education Development Index (IPP). Calculations that are only carried out at the national level are considered not to be able to represent the assessment of educational development at the provincial and district/city levels considering that there are differences in characteristics in each region, especially in underdeveloped areas of Indonesia. This study aims to describe IPP in underdeveloped areas in Indonesia in 2020 and analyze the variables that affect IPP using multiple linear regression methods. The results show that 4 independent variables significantly affect IPP in underdeveloped areas in Indonesia in 2020, namely, the percentage of poor people, the percentage of internet access that supports learning, the ratio of student teachers, and the percentage of the last education of the head of the house at least senior high school.

Abstract

Tourism is one of the government's strategies to accelerate national economic growth in the 2015-2019 RPJMN because through its multiplier effect the tourism sector can help accelerate national economic growth. Central Java Province in 2020 has an uneven distribution of tourist attractions among other districts/cities. The uneven distribution of the number of tourist attractions is the background for the author in grouping districts/cities in Central Java based on tourism potential. This study uses 8 variables related to tourism potentials. The unit of analysis used in this study were 35 districts/cities in Central Java Province. The analytical method used is k-means cluster analysis which is famous for its ease of algorithm. This study resulted in 4 groups of regencies/cities with low, medium, high, and very high tourism potential, each consisting of 8 regencies/cities, 4 regencies/cities, 22 regencies/cities, and 1 district. The government is expected to know the potential of each region before prioritizing tourism development in Central Java Province.

Abstract

Toddlers are one of the groups that are vulnerable and sensitive to nutritional and health problems. Indicators of mortality, nutritional status, and morbidity rates can be used to measure the health of status of toddlers. Based on the 2012 IDHS, 40 toddlers died before reaching the age of 5 years and according to Riskesdas 2018, 30 to 31 toddlers were stunted. Nationally, the mortality rate of toddlers range in Indonesia reaches 87 people and the the stunting prevalence range reaches 25 percent, which shows the disparity in the health of toddlers between regions and shows that the health of toddlers in Indonesia tends to be low. So, it is necessary to group provinces to see the characteristics of each province and identify priority areas. The analysis method applies k-means clusters with a coverage of 34 province in Indonesia. The result of the grouping formed 3 clusters, namely cluster 1 is a provinces with a moderate degree of toddler health, cluster 2 is a provinces with a good degree of toddler health and cluster 3 is a provinces with a poor degree of health of toddlers.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic that occurred two years ago was a factor that greatly influenced the economic slowdown, both at the global and national levels. The International Pertamina Grand Prix MotoGP Mandalika was enthusiastically welcomed by the Indonesian people. The existence of the 2022 MotoGP event is an opportunity to encourage economic recovery both at the level of the Province of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) and nationally. This study aims to see the impact of the Mandalika MotoGP event on the economy, especially the tourism sector in NTB by utilizing Big Data technology. The results of this study indicate a significant increase in community mobility during the event, especially in transit areas and parks. The increase in TPK also occurred quite significantly in March 2022 compared to February 2022. The number of flights to Lombok International Airport increased sharply from 18 to 21 March 2022. Some of these indicators show that the MotoGP mandalika event is a moment for the revival of the NTB economy.

Abstract

Labour competitiveness is an essential issue in the global and national development agenda. The position of competitiveness of Indonesian workers is still below that of other countries. Labour competitiveness in Indonesia can be seen from key indicators of labour. This paper aims to group all provinces in Indonesia based on labor market indicators in 2019 using the Fuzzy C-Means (FCM) clustering method. All provinces managed to become 3 clusters. The first cluster consists of 2 provinces with fairly good competitive characteristics. The second cluster consists of 4 provinces having high labor productivity and average labor, as well as having challenges in other labor market indicators. The third cluster consists of 28 provinces with moderate indicator achievement characteristics. Accuracy indexes such as Dunn's Fuzziness Coefficients and Fuzzy Silhouette Index show a value close to 1. It indicates that the cluster has a strong structure. The right policies according to the target group are expected to encourage the improvement of the labour competitiveness so that they can contribute to achieving development goals.

Abstract

The rapid development of technology, the number of elderly people in Indonesia which continues to experience an increase as well as the structure of the Indonesian population entering the ageing population requires the Indonesian Government to pay attention so that this phenomenon can be used as a second demographic bonus. The elderly also have many obstacles in the process of self-digitization due to their physical and mental condition. Based on the preliminary survey, all respondents stated that there are several factors of the BPS Website that are not suitable for the elderly so that the current BPS Website tends to make it difficult for elderly users. Therefore, the BPS Website as the main reference website in the world of statistics should have a special user interface for the elderly so that the design of the mobile version of the BPS Website user interface for the elderly is carried out using the User Centered Design method. The conclusion reached that the study stopped at iteration three and was declared complete. The Final Prototype has been produced and designed according to user requirements and has gone through several iteration processes. The output in this study is in the form of guidelines for designing a mobile version of the BPS Website interface for the elderly.

Abstract

Access to proper drinking water, proper sanitation and affordable and livable houses is a problem that has become the focus of many countries, especially Indonesia. The success of these indicators is in line with the availability of data not only at the national, provincial, and regency/city levels but also at the smaller levels. Information on indicators is obtained from the Susenas of BPS a survey designed to estimate up to the regency/city level, so it does not meet the minimum sample requirement to estimate to the lower level. The Small Area Estimation (SAE) method can increase the effectiveness of the sample size by borrowing the power of the accompanying variable that has a relationship with the variable to be estimated. (Benavent, 2016) proposed the SAE method using the multivariate Fay Herriot EBLUP model by utilizing the correlation of the variables to be studied. This study aims to estimate and map the ownership data on access to proper drinking water, proper sanitation and affordable and livable houses at the district level in Papua. The results showed that the estimation of ownership indicators of access to proper drinking water, proper sanitation and affordable and livable housing using the multivariate Fay Herriot EBLUP method had a smaller relative standard error (RSE) compared to univariate and direct estimates.

Abstract

The second target of the second goal of the SDGs is to eliminate all forms of malnutrition, one of which is an indicator of the prevalence of stunting in children under five. This study aims to classify and identify the characteristics of provinces in Indonesia based on stunting indicators in children under five. The method used is the k-means algorithm and agglomerative nesting (AGNES) clustering. By comparing the average silhouette value, it can be seen that the hierarchical clustering method of the AGNES algorithm with single linkage has the highest average silhouette value of 0,67 which is a strong cluster. Based on the results of the analysis obtained 2 optimum clusters. The characteristics of cluster 2, namely Papua Province, are indicators of a high incidence of stunting, because in this cluster immunization, access to sanitation, access to health facilities, high school education levels are low and LBW <2.500 grams. Meanwhile, the other 33 provinces are in cluster 1 with indicators of immunization, access to sanitation, access to health facilities, high school education and LBW <2.500 grams so that this cluster is included in the low incidence of stunting indicators.
