Abstract

Hypertension is a non-communicable disease that affects a large portion of the Indonesian population, including individuals in the productive age group. The prevalence of hypertension among the productive age population continues to rise in line with unhealthy lifestyle changes. On the other hand, individuals in this age group are expected to engage in economic activities to support the needs of the non-productive population. This study aims to describe the general profile and characteristics of individuals with hypertension and to identify the factors influencing the incidence of hypertension among the productive age population in Indonesia in 2023. The analytical tools used are descriptive and inferential analyses using ordinal logistic regression, based on secondary data from the 2023 Indonesian Health Survey. The results show that 44.3 percent of the population is classified as prehypertensive, 17 percent as having stage 1 hypertension, 8.5 percent as having stage 2 hypertension, and the remaining 30.2 percent as having normal blood pressure. Significant risk factors include age group, gender, depression status, physical activity, salt intake, fiber and fat consumption, and smoking behavior. These findings highlight the need for promotive and preventive strategies for healthy lifestyle behavior in the productive-age population.

Abstract

In recent years, the Special Region of Yogyakarta has faced a growing challenge of waste generation exceeding its management capacity. This situation underscores the urgency of developing a long-term, data-driven waste management strategy. This study aims to build an accurate forecasting model for waste volume using real-time data from the Google Trends Index (GTI) alongside official statistical data as exogenous variables. The forecasting methods employed are SARIMA and SARIMAX, tested with various parameter and variable combinations. The best-performing model is SARIMAX(1,1,1)(1,0,0)12 with the Production Index (IBS) and the GTI for the keyword “sampah” (waste) as exogenous variables, achieving a MAPE of 5.7873 (classified as very good) and an RMSE of 46.7509. The forecast shows an upward trend in mid-2024, a decline at the end of 2024, and a sharp increase in early 2025. These results can inform adaptive waste management policies, particularly in strengthening upstream strategies such as waste reduction, sorting, and recycling.

Abstract

The Government of Indonesia promotes regional development by leveraging each region’s unique characteristics and potential, emphasizing the sustainable use of key resources while preserving the environment. Natuna Regency, located in a remote area of Indonesia, faces higher essential goods prices compared to other regions. Therefore, analyzing the leading agricultural subsectors and commodities in this area is crucial. This study aims to (1) identify which agricultural subsectors and commodities are leading (basis) versus non-leading, and (2) map their growth patterns. Data include time-series GRDP for Riau Arcipelago Province and Natuna Regency (2020–2024) and fisheries production (2020–2023). Location Quotient and Klassen Typology are employed. Findings reveal that the food crops and fisheries subsectors are classified as basis (LQ > 1), with leading fisheries commodities like snapper, grouper, and frigate mackerel. The Klassen Typology also places fisheries commodities such as snapper and grouper in the leading category.

Abstract

One of the factors contributing to the high maternal mortality rate (MMR) is high-risk fertility behavior HRFB). As a province with the highest TFR, NTT Province indicated to have a high prevalence of perilaku fertilitas berisiko tinggi. Although various efforts have been made by the Provincial government to prevent perilaku fertilitas berisiko tinggi, MMR in NTT Province is still high. This indicates that the quality of maternal services in NTT Province is not yet optimal. The purpose of this study was to identify variables that influence the HRFB status of WUS in NTT Province in 2023. The results of the study showed that the variables of women’s education, women’s employment status, use of contraception, ownership of health insurance, and ANC examinations had a significant effect on perilaku fertilitas berisiko tinggi status. In addition, women who have mandatory formal education, are employed, use contraception, have health insurance, and don’t undergo ANC examinations have a greater tendency to have higher-risk HRFB.

Abstract

Diarrhea remains one of the leading communicable diseases contributing to under-five mortality. According to the Ministry of Health 2023, West Java Province ranked third nationally and first on the island of Java in terms of diarrhea prevalence among children under-five, with a rate of 11%. This phenomenon is associated with high population density and limited access to proper sanitation. This study aims to describe the incidence of diarrhea among children under five and analyze several variables affecting diarrhea incidence in West Java, using data from SKI 2023. The analysis was conducted using binary logistic regression. The findings show that child age, maternal education, and household sanitation are associated with diarrhea incidence in under five children in West Java. It is recommended that the West Java local government focus its diarrhea prevention programs on children aged 6-23 months, provide health education especially mother, and ensure adequate sanitation facilities in every household.

Abstract

The concept of the blue economy emphasizes the sustainable use of marine resources to support inclusive economic growth and well-being. The implementation of the blue economy also encompasses the inland fisheries sector in line with the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) program. Although South Sulawesi has the highest blue economy index, poverty in the province has increased in 2023. This study aims to analyze the relationship between fishery entrepreneurs, the Human Development Index (HDI), fishery production value, waste generation, extension services, fishery production volume, the distribution of GDP in the fishery sector, and the number of vessels with poverty rates using stepwise multiple linear regression. The results show that the number of fishery entrepreneurs positively affects poverty, while HDI and fishery production value significantly reduce poverty. Overall, improvements in HDI and production value are effective in reducing poverty, but the increase in the number of entrepreneurs has the opposite effect, as the majority of fishery businesses in South Sulawesi are still small-scale.

Abstract

Health insurance is one of the efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals target, namely Universal Health Coverage. Based on data from Statistics Indonesia, almost a quarter of Indonesia’s population still does not have health insurance. One of the regency/municipalities with a fairly high percentage of population who do not have health insurance is Lima Puluh Kota Regency. This research aims to determine the characteristics of Lima Puluh Kota regency population who do not have health insurance and how this influences their preferences for owning health insurance. By using descriptive analysis and binary logistic regression, it was found that the characteristics of Lima Puluh Kota Regency who prefer no to have health insurance are living in urban areas, their economic status is not poor, never married/divorced, age group 0 – 9 years old (children), not working, not using the internet, have health complaints and the highest level of education is Primary or Secondary school. Therefore, it is hoped that the government can make policies that are right on target by specifically intervening in the promotion of health insurance ownership based on these characteristics. Collaboration with private health insurance providers can also expand the scope of health insurance ownership.

Abstract

Food insecurity occurs when the most basic human need, which is food, is not fullfiled, making someone difficult to carry out daily activities. The highest SDGs indicator 2.1.2 (prevalence of population with moderate or severe food insecurity based on the Food Insecurity Experience Scale (FIES)) in 2023 is in East Nusa Tenggara Province (NTT). This study aims to identify the general status of household food insecurity and analyze the influence and determine the tendency of socioeconomic access factors on the level of household food insecurity using data from the National Socio-Economic Survey (Susenas) in March 2024 using by Partial Proportional Odds Model (PPOM) of ordinal logistic regression. The results show that households living in rural areas, with a large number of household members, female household heads, older household heads, household heads with education below high school, households in the agricultural sector, unsafe drinking water, and a food expenditure share above 60 percent are more likely to experience food insecurity.

Abstract

House prices play a crucial role in shaping the economic and social dynamics of society, influenced by environmental conditions, accessibility, and socio-economic factors. This study develops an adaptive model for predicting house listing prices by integrating statistical and geospatial analysis techniques. Data were collected through web scraping using the Rumah123.com API and cover property prices across subdistrict and district levels in Bogor. Satellite imagery and environmental indicators—such as the Normalized Difference Built-Up Index (NDBI) and Normalized Difference Water Index (NDWI)—were analyzed to uncover market trends. The findings reveal that urban density has negative spillover effects on surrounding areas, while green spaces and high-moisture zones positively influence property values. Digital infrastructure and air quality also affect housing preferences. The Spatial Durbin Error Model (SDEM) accounts for complex spatial dependencies, resulting in more realistic price estimates. These insights contribute to improved decision-making for housing investments by various stakeholders.

Abstract

Local governments play a role as implementers of central government policies at the local level and are given the authority to carry out development through decentralization mechanisms. Decentralization provides autonomy to local governments so that they can regulate and manage their regions based on their unique social, cultural, and economic conditions. One form of decentralization is fiscal decentralization, which is the granting of rights to local governments to manage their finances independently. This study aims to evaluate the impact of fiscal decentralization, economic growth, and the human development index on poverty levels in 35 districts/cities in Central Java Province from 2020 to 2023. The analysis was conducted using the Random Effect Model (REM), selected based on the results of the Chow and Hausman tests, as it can handle the heterogeneity in panel data. The results of the study indicate that all three variables have a significant impact on poverty levels, thereby providing a foundation for poverty alleviation efforts at the local level.
