Abstract

Ketergantungan Indonesia terhadap impor gandum terus meningkat dan berpotensi mengancam ketahanan pangan nasional. Kondisi lingkungan yang sesuai pertumbuhan gandum perlu dipelajari dalam rangka pengembangan gandum di Indonesia. Salah satu aspek yang perlu dikaji adalah kemampuan adaptasi gandum jika ditanam pada wilayah dengan iklim dan ketinggian tertentu. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi perbedaan karakter varietas gandum yang adaptif di dataran menengah dengan pendekatan karakter agro-fisiologi. Penelitian di laksanakan di dataran menengah (517 mdpl) Kecamatan Tanjung Raya, Kabupaten Agam, Sumatra Barat dan beberapa laboratorium Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Andalas. Varietas gandum yang digunakan yaitu empat varietas nasional (Nias, Selayar, Guri 5 Agritan dan Guri 6 Unand). Data karakter fisiologi disajikan secara deskriptif dan data pertumbuhan hasil dianalisis menggunakan uji F taraf 5%, apabila terdapat perbedaan nyata dilanjutkan dengan uji DNMRT. Hubungan antara karakter agro-fisiologi dianalisis menggunakan korelasi pearson taraf 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pengaruh yang berbeda nyata dan korelasi yang erat antar karakter agro-fisiologi beberapa varietas gandum di dataran menengah Sumatra Barat

Abstract

Penelitian ini diselenggarakan dengan maksud untuk menganalisis pengaruh diameter umbi kentang G0 dan berbagai jenis POC sebagai bioaktivator pada pupuk kandang ayam terhadap pertumbuhan vegetatif, komponen hasil, serta ketersediaan unsur hara nitrogen (N), fosfor (P), dan kalium (K) di dalam tanah. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan mulai bulan Oktober 2023 hingga Januari 2024, di Desa Pandansari, Kecamatan Sumber, Kabupaten Probolinggo di ketinggian 2000 mdpl. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan percobaan Split Plot Desain dengan 3 kali ulangan. Faktor pertama adalah macam diameter benih kentang G0 (D) yang terdiri dari 3 taraf perlakuan yaitu D1 : benih umbi kentang diameter 1,7 cm, D2 : benih umbi kentang diamter 2,5 cm, dan D3 : benih umbi kentang diameter 3 cm. Faktor kedua adalah macam POC sebagai bioaktivator pupuk kandang ayam (P) yang terdiri dari 4 taraf perlakuan yaitu P0 : tanpa bioaktivator (kontrol), P1 : air cucian beras, P2 : air limbah ikan, P3 : air rebusan kedelai. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa ukuran umbi kentang G0 3 cm (D3) serta penggunaan bioaktivator air cucian beras (P1) berpengaruh terhadap parameter pengamatan tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, dan bobot umbi pertanaman. Terdapat interaksi nyata pada perlakuan D3P1 pada paramter pengamatan jumlah cabang, jumlah umbi per tanaman, serta mampu meningkatkan ketersediaan unsur hara N, P, dan K dalam tanah, sehingga berpotensi mendukung pertumbuhan tanaman yang lebih efisien dan berkelanjutan.

Abstract

The productivity of sweet corn must be continuously improved to meet increasing market demand. Inorganic fertilizers may reduce soil fertility. The application of (PGPR) derived from bamboo roots, which function as biofertilizers and biostimulants by enhancing nutrient availability and stimulating plant growth. Appropriate plant spacing is also an important agronomic practice for optimizing the use of light, water, nutrients, and growing space. This study aimed to evaluate the interaction between plant spacing and bamboo root PGPR concentration on the growth and yield of sweet corn. The experiment was conducted in Potroyudan Village, Jepara from December 2024 to March 2025 using a two-factor Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD). The first factor consisted of three plant spacings (75 × 40 cm, 75 × 30 cm, and 75 × 20 cm), while the second factor included three PGPR concentrations (0, 25, and 50 ml L⁻¹). Data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) followed by Duncan's Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at the 5% significance level. The interaction between plant spacing and PGPR concentration significantly affected plant height only at 6 weeks after planting. Plant spacing significantly influenced stem diameter, cob weight with husk, and cob length without husk. The 75 × 40 cm spacing produced the highest cob weight (276.48 g) and longest cob length (19.44 cm). PGPR concentration showed no significant effect, although 25 ml L⁻¹ tended to produce better growth and yield. Overall, plant spacing contributed more to sweet corn productivity than bamboo root PGPR under the conditions of this study.

Abstract

The increasing use of synthetic pesticides in intensive agricultural systems has caused various adverse impacts, including pest resistance, environmental contamination, and pesticide residues in agricultural products. Botanical pesticides derived from local plant resources represent an environmentally friendly alternative for sustainable pest management. This study aimed to inventory and botanically identify local plant species with potential as botanical pesticides in Karo Regency, North Sumatra, Indonesia. The research was conducted from April 2026 to Juny 2026in Kebayaken, Kubucolia, and Semangat Villages using an exploratory survey approach. Plant samples were collected based on information obtained from local communities, followed by specimen collection, morphological documentation, and botanical identification using morphological characteristics and taxonomic references. The collected data were analyzed descriptively based on species richness, family composition, growth habit, plant parts utilized, and target pest organisms. The results revealed 16 plant species belonging to eight families, with Zingiberaceae and Asteraceae being the dominant families. Herbaceous plants constituted the predominant growth habit, while leaves and rhizomes were the most frequently utilized plant parts for botanical pesticide preparation. This inventory provides baseline scientific information on the diversity of local plant species with potential as botanical pesticides in Karo Regency and serves as a valuable foundation for future studies on secondary metabolite characterization, bioactivity evaluation, and the development of botanical pesticides derived from local biological resources to support sustainable agriculture.
