Saint Pauls Review adalah jurnal ilmiah berkala yang diterbitkan dua kali setahun oleh Bagian Pusat Studi Sekolah Tinggi Teologi Saint Paul Bandung. Jurnal ini mengkaji isu-isu kontemporer yang ada di tengah-tengah masyarakat khususnya kaum milenial yang sedang mengalami perubahan yang begitu cepat demi berkontribusi dalam pelayanan Gereja di negara kesatuan Republik Indonesia. Penulisan dalam jurnal ini lebih berfokus pada bidang Teologi, Konseling, dan beberapa disiplin ilmu terkait seperti Psikologi, Sosial dan Antropologi. Jurnal ini ditulis oleh para teolog Kristen, para dosen dan mahasiswa, para pendeta dan rohaniawan serta orang awam yang menaruh perhatian terhadap pergumulan masyarakat pluralisme dalam gaya penulisan yang dapat dicerna oleh masyarakat Kristen. Saint Pauls Review adalah jurnal open access yang menerbitkan artikel penelitian dalam bidang teologi, misiologi, konseling pastoral, kepemimpinan Kristen, pendidikan Kristen, dan filsafat agama. Kriteria publikasi jurnal ini didasarkan pada standar etika yang tinggi dan kekakuan metodologi dan kesimpulan yang dilaporkan.

Abstract

This research examines the evidences of the divinity and humanity of Jesus in the New Testament. These two natures of Jesus have often been debated among Christians throughout the history of the church. Evidenced by the emergence of four popular views such as: ebionism, Arianism, docetism, apolinarism. By using qualitative research, the researcher examines, analyzes and elaborates literature, articles and studies from experts to find interpretations of the New Testament texts in order to produce valid and reliable views and be held as truth. The conclusion of this study is that the New Testament evidence shows that Jesus was true God and true man.

Abstract

This study aims to discuss tithing offerings based on the Bible Malachi 3:6-12 to see its relevance to the church today. The research was conducted at GPKB Region IV, Sadaniang District, Mempawah Regency, West Kalimantan. The method used is a biblical hermeneutic method to interpret the biblical text and also a survey method with a quantitative approach. The finding in this study is that, tithing offerings are still relevant today because they are based on the unchanging word of God, legalized by God, and have the nature of continuity that remains a legacy for church practice.

Abstract

A good and true friendship is a friendship that is built continuously both long distance and face to face. Therefore, in the context of pastoral ministry, a church pastor needs to be friendly with all members of his congregation. The pastor's role is to encourage all members of the church to increase friendship among fellow congregations and make friends with all people. Friendship with all people is highly valued by Christ Jesus through His word. This study aims to explain the role of the church pastor as a leader in increasing friendship with all people. To answer the problems and research objectives, qualitative research methods are used by applying a library approach. The results of the research to be achieved are the pastor of the church as a spiritual leader who plays an intense role in being able to encourage believers or the congregation to increase friendship with all people according to the teachings of Jesus Christ in His word.

Abstract

This article is to conduct a study on the Spiritual Qualities of the Philadelphia’s church in Revelation 3:7-13 as a Role Model for Christians nowadays. As a believer in Christ must understand correctly how to live, have the spiritual quality of growing, which is good and strong. Spiritual growth begins with a correct understanding of the Word, and it is the Word that will move every believer to continue doing what is right before God. Therefore a person's faith is based on his spiritual quality. The church in Philadelphia is a congregation that has a strong and basic spirituality. The belief and spiritual quality of the Philadelphian congregation in Christ is expressed through the way of the church's life, which obeys the word, does not deny God's name, waits diligently on God, and faithfully preaches the gospel. This way of life is a role model in the Christian life. Artikel ini adalah untuk melakukan suatu penelitian mengenai Kualitas Rohani Jemaat Filadelfia Dalam Wahyu 3:7-13 Sebagai Panutan Bagi Orang Kristen Masa Kini. Sebagai orang yang percaya kepada Kristus harus Mengerti dengan benar bagaimana seharusnya hidup, memiliki Kualitas rohani bertumbuh, yang baik dan kuat. Pertumbuhan secara spiritual dimulai dengan pemahaman yang benar tentang Firman, dan Firman itulah yang akan menggerakkan setiap orang percaya untuk terus melakukan perbuatan-perbutan yang benar dihadapan Tuhan. Karena itu iman seseorang didasarkan pada kualitas rohaninya. Jemaat di Filadelfia merupakan jemaat yang memiliki rohani yang kuat dan mendasar. Keyakinan dan kualitas rohani jemaat Filadelfia kepada Kristus dinyatakan melalui cara hidup jemaat, yang menuruti firman, tidak menyangkal nama Tuhan, tekun menantikan Tuhan, dan setia memberitakan Injil, cara hidup ini merupakan suatu Panutan dalam kehidupan kekristenan.

Abstract

Abstrak Permasalahan dalam tulisan ini terletak pada isu doktrin eskatologi tentang kerajaan seribu tahun, khususnya dalam pandangan dispensasionalisme dengan covenant theology. Munculnya isu ini karena sebagian kekristenan menafsirkan kerajaan seribu tahun dengan cara penafsiran yang berbeda-beda oleh penerus Agutinus. Pembahasan ini bertujuan untuk memperbanyak pembasahan tentang kerajaan seribu tahun. Karena penitik beratan pada “kerajaan seribu tahun”, maka tulisan ini menggunakan pendekatan kepustakaan. Tulisan ini akan menjabarkan kerajaan seribu tahun menurut pakar utama, hasil kerajaan seribu tahun menurut dispenasionalisme dengan covenant theology. Kesimpulan dari tulisan membuktikan bahwa kerajaan seribu tahun benar-benar akan terjadi di masa depan. Kata Kunci: Komparasi-konsep-eskatologi-dispenasionalisme-covenant-theology-tentang-kerajaan- seribu-tahun.

Abstract

The lives of today's teenagers determine the future of a nation because teenagers are the nation's future assets. However, recently juvenile delinquency behavior is often very concerning. Amid this situation, the role of Christian educators is very much needed to foster and guide teenagers so that they have good character. The formulation of the problem in this paper is what is the role of Christian religious teachers in the church in preventing juvenile delinquency? So the purpose of this study was to determine the role of Christian religious teachers in the church in preventing juvenile delinquency. This study uses a library research approach. From this research, the results are, first, Christian educators play a role in implementing Christian hospitality. This means that Christian educators should love teenagers and make it happen by providing motivation and encouragement to teenagers to become good people. Second, play a role in conducting counseling guidance. Counseling carried out on adolescents is expected to provide true knowledge about God and satisfaction in receiving the counseling service. Third, play a role in developing youth talents. Because of this role, teenagers can develop the talents that exist in themselves and teenagers can do more positive and good activities. Fourth, make discipleship of the youth. Because teenagers must be guided to stay centered on God.

Abstract

In its continuity to distinguish true faith and false faith in the christian life is not an easy thing to do. Therefore there needs to be a test of faith to prove the authenticity of one's faith. This study uses the biblical text's exposition approach to Matthew 13:36-43 by looking at the background and finding the meaning of the text. Researchers also use interpretations to get a clearer meaning and then the results are presented by describing what tests are effective in proving the authenticity of one's faith . The test is through hardship and fun. Whether in adversity one still believes and worships God and whether in pleasure one does not forget God

Abstract

This paper intends to find out Ruth is a woman of character and integrity in various perspectives in terms of words, actions and loyalty as a daughter-in-law and a foreigner (Moab), (Ruth 1:16). With the struggles and challenges of life's journey as Naomi's daughter-in-law and a foreigner (Moab), Ruth remains committed in words and actions that reflect a person of integrity. The author executes Ruth 1:16 as a hermeneutic validation text and the inspiration for the exposition. The method used in writing this paper is a descriptive qualitative method with a correlated library, literature, published journal approach to examine the subject matter to explore the feminist hermeneutics of the narrative of the Book of Ruth: characters, words, actions and loyalty. This paper presents a theological study of women's contributions through feminist hermeneutics, while still upholding the respect and authority of the Bible. By reflecting on the feminist hermeneutics of the narrative of the Book of Ruth: character, words, actions and fidelity to the role of women in society, ministry in the church and life in the home.

Abstract

Dewasa ini, kekristenan seringkali dipahami dan dinilai hanya sebatas agama saja. Dengan adanya sebuah pemahaman dan penilaian yang demikian, cukup sulit untuk memiliki iman Kristen yang sejati. Adapun metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis terhadap teks Alkitab dalam Matius 13:24-30. Dalam analisis ini, penulis menggunakan berbagai sumber pustaka, seperti buku-buku tafsiran, leksikon, dan berbagai sumber dari jurnal ilmiah. Melalui penelitian yang dilakukan, diketahui bahwa tantangan iman orang percaya diibaratkan lalang yang tumbuh diantara gandum. Untuk dapat bertahan menghadapi tantangan tersebut, diperlukan hidup yang mengandalkan Tuhan. Orang yang mampu bertahan menghadapi berbagai tantangan hidup adalah orang yang memiliki iman Kristen yang sejati. Ketika seseorang memiliki iman Kristen yang sejati, maka ia akan bertumbuh dan hidup menghasilkan buah kebenaran.
