Abstract

This study analyzes the level of fandom among supporters of Kapal Udara Band in Makassar City through three indicators: imitation, consumptive behavior, and obsession. A descriptive quantitative method was employed, with a sample of 72 respondents selected using Slovin’s technique. Results indicate a "moderate" level of fandom, with a Total Respondent Achievement Rate (TCR) of 53%. Imitation (TCR 55%) and consumptive behavior (TCR 55%) dominated, while obsession scored lower (TCR 48%). Fans tended to be selective in imitating band members and purchasing merchandise, with financial awareness influencing consumption decisions. Obsession manifested as moderate social engagement without disrupting personal lives. These findings align with prior studies highlighting local music fans’ tendency to balance loyalty with personal responsibility. The research concludes that fandom for Kapal Udara Band reflects an integrated collective identity free from extreme dominance, while emphasizing the community’s role in sustaining the local music ecosystem. Practical implications include community-based marketing strategies and strengthening cultural values in the independent music industry.

Abstract

This study discusses the phenomenon of ghosting in romantic relationships by utilizing psychological and sociological approaches in the context of the digital era. The methodology used is a qualitative approach through literature study and in-depth interviews with six participants, consisting of three perpetrators and three victims of ghosting. The main objective of this study is to explore the causes, impacts, and preventive measures against ghosting. The findings show that ghosting behavior is influenced by psychological aspects, such as avoidant attachment style and moral disengagement, as well as sociological aspects such as individualism culture and easy access to technology. The impacts felt by victims include decreased self-esteem, anxiety, and difficulty in building trust. Meanwhile, perpetrators can experience feelings of guilt or relief, depending on the motivation behind their actions. Efforts to reduce ghosting include increasing honest and open communication, education about psychological impacts, and wise use of technology. The conclusion of this study emphasizes the importance of implementing a multidisciplinary approach in understanding ghosting in order to encourage the formation of healthier romantic relationships in the digital era.

Abstract

This article examines the phenomenon of “People Pleasure” among Generation Z, which is the tendency to please others rooted in perfectionism. Through the framework of symbolic interaction theory, this research focuses on how individuals shape meaning from social interaction and communication, as well as the importance of setting self-limits to deal with such behavior. Findings suggest that perfectionism can be a trigger for mental dissatisfaction, as individuals feel pressured to meet their own and others' expectations. This tendency contributes to various mental health problems, such as anxiety and depression. Therefore, applying the concept of “Self Boundaries” is crucial to maintain a balance between meeting the needs of others and maintaining mental health. This study proposes several strategies, such as increasing self-awareness, setting clear boundaries, and communicating effectively to help individuals overcome the behavior of “People Pleasure.” Overall, this study provides useful insights into the impact of perfectionism and social media on “People Pleasure” behavior, and offers practical approaches to improve Generation Z's mental health in the face of complex social pressures. It is hoped that the results of this study can serve as a reference for the development of interventions in the context of psychology and sociology.

Abstract

The phenomenon of cultism toward religious figures continues to persist despite the entrance of society into an era of cultural modernism, which is characterized by rationality and scientific advancement. This article aims to analyze the factors that trigger the emergence of cultism toward religious leaders through a sociological approach and to explain its influence on modern social life. The method used is a literature review of various scholarly sources, including academic journals and research articles relevant to the theme of cultism in society. The study's findings indicate that cultism arises as a response to socio-economic instability experienced by communities, where the presence of charismatic figures is seen as a beacon of hope for prosperity and liberation from hardship. Society tends to seek authoritative figures who offer certainty in social life. Additionally, the influence of media, feudalistic social structures, and power relations between religious figures and their followers further reinforce this phenomenon. Cultural modernism and the shift toward more moderate religious values do not automatically eliminate cult practices; rather, they transform them into more symbolic and concealed forms. This study recommends the importance of critical religious literacy and the strengthening of social rationality to prevent distortions in the relationship between religious leaders and society.

Abstract

Child marriage is a complex social phenomenon and is influenced by a variety of factors, including social pressures, economic conditions, cultural norms, and media influences. This study aims to analyze the main factors that drive early marriage and its impact on the lives of individuals and society. Based on various studies that have been conducted, it is found that social pressure from the family and the surrounding environment plays a big role in encouraging individuals to marry at a young age, especially for women. In addition, difficult economic conditions often make early marriage seen as a solution to reduce financial burden, especally for women, which leads to limited employment opportunities and financial dependence. In terms of health, teenage pregnancy has a high risk to both mother and baby, including medical complications and a higher mortality rate. Therefore, it is important for the public and the government to increase education about the risks of early marriage and provide policy support that can prevent it. With a better understanding, it is hoped that individuals can make more mature decisions before entering family married life. From a psychological perspective, couples who marry at a young age are more prone to experiencing domestic conflicts due to a lack of emotional readiness and experience in managing long-term relationships. Another negative impact is the inhibition of education and provide policy support that can prevent it. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of hidden curriculum in Basic Student Leadership Training (LDKS) activities in Senior High Schools (SMA). Hidden curriculum refers to learning that is not listed in the formal curriculum, but plays an important role in the formation of students' character and values, such as attitudes, behaviors, and norms. This study uses a qualitative approach with Husserl's phenomenological theory to understand the participants' experiences and perspectives related to the implementation of the hidden curriculum. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with teachers, facilitators, and students involved in LDKS activities. The results show that the implementation of the hidden curriculum in LDKS is still inconsistent, with differences in understanding of this concept among facilitators and teachers. In addition, the lack of evaluation of the effectiveness of the hidden curriculum and the existence of conflicts between the formal curriculum and the hidden curriculum are obstacles in achieving the goal of optimal character education. The findings also show that the involvement of all parties, including parents and the community, is minimal in this process. Therefore, this study suggests the need to increase understanding of the hidden curriculum, develop a more structured evaluation system, align the formal curriculum and the hidden curriculum, and increase the involvement of all parties to increase the effectiveness of the implementation of the hidden curriculum in LDKS activities in high schools.
