Abstract

The issue of out-of-school children (OOSC) remains a persistent challenge within Indonesia's education system, particularly in remote and marginalized regions where disparities in access, infrastructure, and socioeconomic conditions continue to hinder educational equity. As one of the Government of Indonesia's strategic partners, UNICEF plays a significant role in catalyzing the strengthening of policies, programs, and inclusive education interventions for children at risk of being left behind. This study aims to analyze the role and influence of UNICEF Indonesia in addressing the issue of out-of-school children through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR). The review was conducted by systematically collecting and examining scholarly publications and official reports from databases such as Google Scholar and the UNICEF Indonesia website, using keywords including “UNICEF Indonesia”, “quality education”, “out-of-school children”, and “strategic partnership”. A total of 16 articles and four reports met the inclusion criteria. They were analyzed thematically with respect to the scope of intervention, methodological approach, and key findings related to Indonesia’s government-UNICEF collaboration. The results reveal that the partnership between the Government of Indonesia and UNICEF has significantly improved access to and the quality of education through programs such as early-grade literacy initiatives in Papua, non-formal education pathways for marginalized groups, and the Child-Friendly Cities Initiative in urban areas. Furthermore, cross-sectoral collaboration among government, civil society organizations, and international partners has enhanced policy effectiveness in reducing the number of out-of-school children. This study emphasizes that evidence-based strategic partnerships and participatory approaches are key factors in promoting inclusive and sustainable education aligned with “Quality Education,” the fourth Sustainable Development Goal (SDG 4).

Abstract

Malaysia is the second largest palm oil producer in the world after Indonesia, while Sabah is a major contributor to Malaysia’s palm oil production with over 50,000 smallholders that plays an important role in economic development. However, the demand for sustainable palm oil, driven by deforestation and human rights, has led to stringent requirements, for instance, Malaysian Sustainable Palm Oil (MSPO) and Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO). The upcoming EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) further intensifies this pressure, which demanding palm oil industry’s traceability and transparency of supply chain and deforestation-free commodities. While Sabah pledged to achieve 100% fully certified by 2025, significant challenges remain; most independent smallholders are still uncertified, with only 885 total certified as of 2023, which is only 3% from the total 30,000 smallholders. This qualitative study is based on a secondary data review, which identifies key barriers faced by independent smallholders to comply with the certification requirement. High certification cost, less training, land title issues, and uncertainty of premiums are among the identified challenges. Existing initiatives are reviewed and found to have insufficient initiative taken to overcome these hurdles. The study concluded that without tailored intervention, these independent smallholders risk exclusion from the EU market. To address this, the study proposes actionable, multistakeholder recommendations that include cooperative models for group certification, expanding training programs, leveraging technology, and resolving legal issues. The findings underscore that achieving this sustainability and EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDT) compliance requires inclusive strategies that make certification more attractive but economically reasonable and practical among independent smallholders.

Abstract

This study is to determine the influence of leadership style, motivation, and career development on turnover intention of PT. X. The object of this research is the employees of PT X. Quantitative research with a cross-sectional approach. Data collection was carried out in 2019 at PT X.A statistical analysis of the data used was a multiple linear regression test. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The sample in this study was all 95 employees from various divisions at PT X. Sampling was carried out offline at PT X. The results of the study show that Leadership Style, Work Motivation, and Career Development have a negative and significant effect on Turnover Intention. The results of this study indicate that companies need to pay serious attention to the leadership practices implemented by managers or supervisors. An effective, communicative, and supportive leadership style can create a conducive work environment and increase employee engagement with the organization. Therefore, the management of PT X needs to develop a leadership training program that focuses on improving communication skills, employee empowerment, and team-oriented leadership. The results of this study contribute to the growing literature on turnover intention by confirming that a holistic approach, including leadership, psychological (motivational), and structural (career development) aspects, is more effective in explaining employee turnover intention than examining only one factor in isolation.

Abstract

This study examines the effects of employee training (X1) and employee engagement (X2) on employee performance (Y) at Taruna Bhakti vocational senior high school in Depok City. A quantitative research approach was employed, involving two independent variables and one dependent variable. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire distributed through the Google Forms platform to the 51 study respondents, representing the total number of employees. The data were analyzed using SPSS software (version 31) and SmartPLS, with responses measured on a five-point Likert scale. The empirical results confirm that employee training and employee engagement serve as significant positive predictors of employee performance. The findings indicate that training initiatives enhance teachers’ pedagogical, technical, and interpersonal competencies, while high levels of engagement strengthen vigor, dedication, and proactive involvement in professional roles.

Abstract

The hijab industry in Indonesia has experienced rapid growth along with the increasing number of Muslim women wearing hijab and the expansion of the modest fashion trend. This condition intensifies competition among hijab brands, encouraging companies to understand the factors influencing consumers’ purchase intentions. This study aims to analyze the effect of Quality perception and lifestyle on purchase intention toward Buttonscarves hijab. This research employs a quantitative approach using a purposive sampling technique. Primary data were collected through an online questionnaire distributed to 100 respondents who have purchased or used Buttonscarves hijab. Data analysis was conducted using Partial Least Squares (PLS) with the assistance of SmartPLS software. The results indicate that Quality perception has a positive and significant effect on purchase intention, while lifestyle does not have a significant effect on purchase intention. These findings suggest that product quality is the primary factor influencing consumers’ intention to purchase premium hijab products. This study provides managerial implications for hijab brands to consistently maintain and improve product quality to enhance consumers’ purchase intentions.
