The aim of this study is to find out the implementation of active learning strategy in Arabic teaching at a senior high school in Palu city. This study used a qualitative research method. The data was collected through observation, interviews, and document analysis. The data, then, was anallysed using grounded theory approach. The results of the study illustrates that iImplementation of active learning strategies in Arabic teaching is intended as a means to deliver students to achieve Arabic learning competencies, namely: al-Istima 'competence, al-Kalaam competence, al- Qira'ah, the competence of al-Kitaabah. with the implementation of learning as follows: first, the Planning stage which contains the stages of learning planning that becomes a guide for achieving learning outcomes. Second, the Implementation stage. The teaching emphasis on the learning process which includes activities and creativity of students in gaining knowledge, skills, values, and attitudes during Arabic learning. During evaluation phase, the teacher actively measure students’ behavior changes that is used as a benchmark for planning and learning development which is aimed at assessing cognitive, affective, psychomotor aspects. The implications of the study are expected for teachers to know and apply active learning to maximize the potential and improve students’ learning outcomes.

Teachers’ Strategy in Improving Students’ Learning Achievement of Al-Qur’an and Hadits at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Mardiah Mardiah; Askar Askar; Rustina Rustina

This study aims to determine the strategies of teachers of the Qur'an and hadith subjects in improving the learning achievement of students in Madrasah Tsanawiyah (MTs) Al-Khairaat Biromaru. The method is qualitative research, with data collection techniques namely; observation, interview and documentation. By using analytical techniques; data collection, data reduction, data presentation and data verification. Data verification uses three methods namely deductive, inductive and comparative. Research results show that by using expository learning strategies with lecture, training or group work methods in teaching it can make it easier for teachers to control students to learn in accordance with the objectives to be achieved in the Al-Khairaat Biromaru Madrasah (MTs) Al-Khairaat Biromaru namely to increase learning achievement. In addition, the selection of media in teaching is also highly considered by Madrasas, especially Madrasah Tsanawiyah (MTs) Al-Khairaat Biromaru because it is one of the determinants to motivate students so that their learning achievement increases, for example in the form of cardboard paper written by the teacher containing verses of Al-qur'an or hadith, or by showing videos that match the material.

The aim of this article is to find out the contribution of Islamic education values in marriage according to the customs of the tribe in district of Banggai Bulagi. This study used qualitative method. While the data was gathered through direct observation, interviews, and document. The results show that (1) the tradition of pasai is carried out with the intention of fulfilling the provisions of the applicable customs and helping to meet the costs of holding the wedding party in the women's family. (2) implementation of marriage according to the customs of the Bulagi tribe only through poiyas stage. Then the realization of the values of the Islamic education in marriage according to the customs of the tribe of Banggai district of Bulagi consists of three extant value i.e. value of belief, value of equality, and the value of morals. (3) A marriage according to the Banggai customs, carried out in accordance with customary paths and stages, is more steady in understanding the values of Islamic education. The implication of this research is, the role of religious figures, custom figures, public figures, are very influential on society of the tribe in the village of Banggai Bulagi to keep the value of education of Islam applied in any tradition and instilling the teachings of Islamic religion to the younger generation to avoid pregnancy outside of marriage.

The Role of Environment in Improving Learning Quality: A Case Study of Al-Istiqamah Modern Islamic Boarding School Rara Pratiwi; Kamaruddin Kamaruddin; Adawiyah Adawiyah

This study examines the role of learning environment in improving the quality of learning students in modern boarding school Al-Istiqamah Ngatabaru. Research method used in this research is qualitative method with a case study approach. The data were collected through observation, semistructured interview, and documentary study. Data then analyzed through three stages, namely data reduction, display data and conclusion drawing/verification. The research results show that the role of learning environment in improving the quality of learning cases in modern boarding school Al-IstiqamahNgatabaru has a big role so that it affects the achievement of students. Based on the results of research in the field of Islamic boarding school learning environment role is the formation of students through the system pengasramaan, student character formation with the assignment, and the creation of a conducive learning. Supporting learning factors include good classroom, organized learning system, teaching program (TMI), curriculum management, while learning inhibiting factors include teachers demanded for professionals, influences coming from within students and surrounding areas, and inadequate facilities.

Effectiveness the Use of Audio Visual Media in Teaching Islamic Religious Education Winarto Winarto; Ahmad Syahid; Fatimah Saguni

This study examines the effectiveness of using audio visual as media in improving learning achievement of a Islamic Junior high schools. The study used qualitative methods with observation, interview and documentation as techniques for data collection. The results of this research shows that the use of audio visual media in enhancing the learning achievement of Islamic education at SMP Negeri 1 Palu was effective for several reasons: First, the use of audio-visual media can clarify the material that is taught, effectifying and functioning students’ sensory, both senses of sight and hearing in accordance with the nature of the characteristics of the material and subject matter that is taught. Second, gives stimulation, experiences and observations that is similar to students in the same time with the subject matter. Third, encourages students to be active in learning activity. By using the audio-visual media, we can also say that the PAI teachers have motivated the whole class to be actively included in the teaching learning proces. Fourth, audio-visual media is very effective in improving students’ interest and achievement in learning Islamic education. The supporting factors are the learning system thatt is used, the quality of teachers, the facilities and infrastructures, as well as the role of parents, communities and the agencies related. The factors that inhibit the effectiveness of using audio visual media are as follows: (1). Time allocation of learning, (2). Procurement of electricity. To overcome these problems we can use genset macine as temporary power, desain the material an media in accodane with time.

This study discusses the urgency of the competency of teachers on the subjects of Islamic religious education. This study used descriptive qualitative method and gather data through observation, interview, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out through reduction, data presentation, and data verification that ended with checking the validity of the data. The results of this study shows that competence of teachers in junior high school is adequate. The role of teachers in improving the quality of teaching, positions which directly determine the success, considering the teacher as a figure who is directly involved in learning in the classroom. All of these roles requires more concrete effort, and directly touch to the needs of students in order to get better the quality of learning. The efforts made by the Islamic religious education teachers in improving the quality of education including the provision of guidance to students, advice, supervision of students, providing motivation and rewards, using varied teaching methods, and personal approach to students. Supporting factors include the existence of good cooperation from principals, teachers, parents, staff, students and the local community, the infrastructure, the competent teachers, and safe and orderly environment. Inhibiting factors include the lack of instructional media; in this case the writer mean is computer and LCD, the lack of participation and support fromstudents’ parent. As for efforts to deal with is as follows: add computer and LCD and establish good coordination with parents.
