Abstract

Pityriasis versicolor (PV) is a skin disease caused by the fungus Malassezia, common in tropical regions with high humidity, such as Indonesia. Pityriasis versicolor is characterized by hypopigmented or hyperpigmented patches, primarily on the chest, back, neck, and face, with some cases accompanied by itching. Risk factors include oily skin, immune conditions, genetics, and hot and humid environments. Further research is needed to understand the role of Malassezia in Pityriasis versicolor to improve treatment and prevent recurrence. To determine the role of Malassezia spp. in Pityriasis versicolor (PV) based on a literature review. Literature review with a narrative review design. Based on several reviewed journals, it can be concluded that Malassezia spp., which are part of the normal skin microbiota, can become pathogenic in individuals with certain predisposing factors. The transformation from yeast to hyphae, as well as the production of virulence factors such as lipase, protease, phospholipase, azelaic acid, melanin-like pigments, and the ability to form biofilms, play a role in the development of Pityriasis versicolor lesions. Interaction with the host occurs through direct mechanisms (irritant metabolites, keratinase) and immunological mechanisms (activation of inflammatory and allergic pathways), leading to skin barrier disruption, pigmentation changes, fine scaling, and potential alopecia. Variation in species and virulence profiles contributes to differences in clinical manifestations and responses to antifungal therapy. Malassezia spp. plays a key role in the development of Pityriasis versicolor through multifactorial virulence mechanisms and interactions with host predisposing factors, which influence clinical manifestations and treatment outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between social support and work stress among nurses at Bhayangkara Hospital, Gorontalo. This research uses a uatitative research design with a population of 80 nurses. The total sample was 80 nurses using the technique total sampling. The research result showed that the work stress level of nurses was in the medium category for 61nurses with a percentage of 76,3%. The social support of nurses is in the medium category as many as 61 nurses with a percentage of 76,3%. Based on the results of the correlation test rank spearmen with correlation value (r) of – 0.592 and a sig value (p) = 0,000 (p<0.05). so it can be concluded that there is a significant negative relationship between social support and work stress in nurses at Bhayangkara Hospital, Gorontalo. This Shows that the higher the social support, the lower the work stres for nurses.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is one of many degenerative illness with topmost number of cases in the world. One of the complications often created by diabetes mellitus is diabetic ulcer, which is susceptible to bacterial infection, obe of which is Staphylococcus aureus. This research wish to formulate an n-hexane fraction cream preparation from brotowali leaves (Tinospora crispa L.) and evaluate its antibacterial activity. Brotowali leaves were ectracted using 96% ethanol and the maceration method, then fractionates using n-hekxane. Then, antibacterial tests were implemented on the n-Hexane fraction using the disc method and formulates into a cream preparation with concentrations of 12,5%, 25% and 50%. The evaluation of the preparation was implemented by testing its spreadability, pH, homogeneity and organoleptic properties. Derived from the outcome of the study, it was shown that the n-Hexane fraction and Brotowali leaf cream formulation had inhibitory activity against Staphylococcus aureus, with the largest inhibition zone at a concentration of 50%. The n-Hexane fraction Brotowali leaf cream has the potential to be developed as a topical formulation for diabetic ulcers.

Abstract

Breast carcinoma represents the most prevalent malignancy among women, rendering routine surveillance using ultrasonography (USG) essential for early detection and monitoring. This case report describes a 49-year-old female presenting with a palpable mass and pain in the left breast, occurring one year after undergoing wide excision in the right breast, with prior histopathological findings of microglandular adenosis. Physical examination revealed bilateral breast masses without evidence of axillary lymphadenopathy. Breast ultrasonography demonstrated a cystic lesion with a solid component in the right breast and a cystic lesion in the left breast, both classified as BI-RADS III. This case underscores the critical role of post–wide excision surveillance using ultrasonography in identifying residual or recurrent lesions in the breast, including the contralateral side. Consistent monitoring and an appropriate clinical approach are expected to prevent diagnostic delays and improve clinical outcomes in patients with residual or recurrent breast lesions.

Abstract

Digital transformation in healthcare requires hospitals to provide effective, efficient, and patient-satisfaction-oriented services. One strategic effort is the implementation of a Hospital Management Information System (SIM-RS), supported by a commitment to quality healthcare services. Analyze the influence of the effectiveness of the implementation of SIM-RS and the commitment to the quality of health services on the efficiency of health services and their implications for patient satisfaction at Ibnu Sina Hospital Makassar. This study uses a quantitative approach with a survey method. Data were collected through distributing questionnaires to respondents and analyzed using path analysis to test the direct and indirect influences between research variables. Shows that the effectiveness of SIM-RS implementation and commitment to quality healthcare services have a positive effect on healthcare service efficiency. Healthcare service efficiency also has a positive effect on patient satisfaction. Furthermore, healthcare service efficiency has been shown to act as a mediating variable in the relationship between SIM-RS implementation effectiveness and commitment to quality healthcare services on patient satisfaction. These findings emphasize that the success of hospital digitalization needs to be balanced with a strengthened commitment to quality to achieve efficient services and optimal patient satisfaction.
