Abstract

ABSTRACT COVID-19 (Coronavirus Disease 2019) is still a significant problem; therefore, mental health issues and COVID-19 are starting to get attention because of the increasing psychological impact and mainly because of Substance Use Disorder (SUD). Further study is required on this issue. This paper aimed to determine the prevalence, diagnosis, and treatment of SUD during the COVID-19 pandemic. This literature review is gained from scientific articles with a range of publication years from 2016 to 2021 about SUD During the COVID-19 pandemic based on Prevalence, Diagnosis, and psychotherapy of the published journal using Pubmed, Google Scholar, and SAGE Journals, and then critically reviewed. The prevalence of SUD patients during the COVID-19 pandemic has increased; however, digital psychotherapy strategies for SUD patients have been found and proved effective during the pandemic. In conclusion, the COVID-19 pandemic impacts a person's mental and behavior and could be a high-risk opportunity for substance abuse. Therefore health workers must improve health services for SUD patients to receive the health access needed even in a pandemic. Keywords: Mental Health, Substance Use Disorder, COVID-19, Prevalence, Diagnosis, ManagementCorrespondence : dedydermawan555@gmail.com

Abstract

Treatment-resistant depression occurs in about 20% of all Major Deppresion Disorder patients. In addition to the high cost of treatment to be borne, the high functional disability rate, the suicide rate triggered by the disorder is also quite large. Various efforts were made to overcome this, including dose optimization and duration of treatment, substitution of drug selection, combination therapy and augmentation using non-antidepressant drugs and bilateral electroconvulsion therapy. Current pharmacological options according to some experts are no more efficacious than the 1950s. Clearly, a novel therapeutic approach to treatment - resistant depression disorders is urgently needed. Over the last few decades, there has been a renewed interest in focal neuromodulation as a treatment approach for neuropsychiatric conditions. The neuromodulation-based interventions discussed include Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) and Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (tDCS), which are non invasive intervention therapy and Vagus Nerve Stimulation (VNS) and Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS), which are invasive interventional therapies. This literature review proves that, although today only TMS and VNS have been approved for use by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in the United States, but neuromodilation-based intervention therapy has proven to be promising as a more effective and efficient resistant depression therapy in the future.

Abstract

Acute psychotic and transient disorders have annually increased, especially in developing countries. The highest prevalence for acute Psychotic disorders is currently in three developing countries, namely Ibadan, Nigeria, and India. Reported the most causes by psychosocial factors and biological factors. Acute and Transient Psychotic disorders have an annual incidence rate of about 3.9% to 9.6% of the 100.000 population. The reported prevalence range from 10% to 50% mostly in the first year. We aim to report a case of Acute and Transient Psychotic Disorders accompanied by suicide attempts to increase cases so that psychiatrists should be able to make a diagnosis quickly and precisely because it is included in the emergency psychiatric. Acute and Transient Psychotic Disorders often cause symptoms in the form of acts of self - harm or others, in the form of committing suicide, which is a very important social phenomenon and requires attention not only from a psychiatrist but also the general public. The phenomenon of suicide has spread to almost all parts of the world, both in countries with advanced technology and in developing countries. Integrated management of this case is clinically oriented to a biopsychosocial model that is used as a basic principle in the clinical practice of a doctor in building relationships with patients. In this case, we reported a 24 – year - old male, the first attack, occurring within one week, and accompanied by suicidal thoughts. So it is necessary to take a biopsychosocial approach that aims for comprehensive and sustainable interventions.

Abstract

Background: The number block is a media that Montessori created in 1909. This block media is made of a wooden square and consists of 10 blocks with red and blue colors. Each red and blue segment represents the sum of 1 block. According to Fridani in Kompas Daily (2010), the block game itself has several advantages, including that children can recognize mathematical concepts because by playing blocks, children get to know more concepts - less, the same and not the same, the concepts of numbers and numbers and science. Such as calculating, classification, gravity, and stabilization. Objective: To determine the effect of number blocks on increasing numeracy skills in mentally disabled childrenMethod: The research design was a pre-experimental design with one group pre-test - a post-test design approachResults: Before being given the intervention to play numeric blocks, most of the ten respondents (59%) had the level of numeracy (analyzing number symbols, addition, and subtraction) in children with mental retardation, which was in the low category. Mental is in the good category for eight respondents (47%), and five respondents (29%) are included in the good category. Conclusion: There is an effect of numeracy skills on children with mental retardation before and after the intervention to play number blocks.

Abstract

Introductions: One of the mental health disorders that have an impact on physical health is called somatization disorder. Somatization is characterized by the appearance of complaints of pain in body parts that occur repeatedly. Anxiety, various physical complaints, and an increasing number of symptoms accompany symptoms of somatization disorder. The most common physical complaint is heartburn. Case: This case report discusses the case of a 36-year-old woman who complained of heartburn by visiting various doctors, but no medical results showed any abnormalities. Purpose: This case report aims to provide a literature review of heartburn symptoms due to somatization. Discussion: The Relationship between Heartburn Levels and Somatoform Disorders Psychosocial stressors are related to psychological factors that influence medical conditions that cause prominent psychological and somatic disorders. Psychological disorders and vice versa can cause physical disturbances. The patient's bodily medical condition can cause psychological disorders. Patients with severe acute pain will experience anxiety, fear, and sleep disturbances. This is due to the patient's discomfort with his condition, where he suffers from the pain he experiences and cannot move. With increasing duration and intensity of pain, the patient may experience a depressive disorder, and then the patient will be frustrated and irritable towards those around him and himself. Conclusion: The high pain intensity in the patient will cause sensitivity and increase his concern for his physical, lowering the threshold for detecting physical sensations or expressing distress and pain.

Abstract

Background: Post-COVID is a multifactorial disease that describes the residual effects of acute COVID-19 infection that are continuous or relapsing and in remission. The study found that 87% of people who recovered and were discharged from the hospital showed persistence of at least one symptom even within 60 days. COVID-19 patients who have bipolar disorder require therapeutic adjustments to avoid specific drug interactions between psychotropic drugs and those used in COVID-19 protocols. Objective: To determine the treatment of post-COVID patients with bipolar affective disorder. Methods: Collect and analyze research articles on Update Therapy for Post-COVID Syndrome Patients with Bipolar Affective Disorder. These articles were obtained by searching using Google Scholar, PubMed/NCBI, and SAGE Journal. Results: The use of combination drugs between antipsychotics and antidepressants with hydroxychloroquine/azithromycin is not recommended because it has side effects that can induce psychiatric symptoms. COVID-19 patients with bipolar disorder (BD) who do not respond to pharmacotherapy may receive electroconvulsive therapy (ECT). Non-pharmacological therapies such as counseling and the use of telepsychiatry are effective in treating mental health and overcoming adverse psychological effects. Conclusion: COVID-19 patients with bipolar affective disorder require unique therapy to avoid drug interactions and pharma-cotherapy. Non-pharmacological efforts include counseling and telepsychiatry to cope with emotional distress and mental health challenges. However, challenges remain in providing care for these patients.
