Abstract

PT Bukit Asam Tbk is a state-owned mining and palm oil company listed on the IDX. However, it is uncertain whether its investment funds and financial statements comprising income statements, equity statements, and balance sheets have been properly audited and managed, particularly during periods of declining income. The purpose of this study is to examine the impact of investment funds and financial statements on the solvency ratio at PT Bukit Asam Tbk, both partially and simultaneously, during the period 2011 to 2021. This research was conducted at PT Bukit Asam Tbk; the data sourced from the financial reports published on the IDX. This study employed quantitative data, derived from secondary sources, and were processed using Eviews 10 over a timeframe of 2011–2021, comprising 11 annual observations. Based on the results, the t-test indicates that not all investment fund and financial statement variables have a significant effect on the solvency ratio. This implies that business management has been less effective in managing its investment funds. The F-test, however, indicates a significant combined effect on the company's solvency. This highlights the importance of effectively managing investment funds and financial reports in order to positively influence solvency.

Abstract

This research aims to evaluate and analyze the technical requirements of the fire protection system at the facility to ensure compliance with international safety standards and actual field conditions. The theoretical framework and evaluation instruments are based on National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards, including NFPA 11 (Foam Systems), NFPA 15 (Water Spray Fixed Systems for Fire Protection), NFPA 20 (Installation of Stationary Pumps for Fire Protection), and NFPA 2001 (Clean Agent Fire Extinguishing Systems), as well as standards from the American Petroleum Institute (API), such as API 2030 and API RP 2001. The research methodology uses an applied case study with a quantitative technical approach, consisting of field data collection, fire zone classification, determination of worst-case fire scenarios, and hydraulic calculations for water, foam, and pump pressure requirements. The analysis classifies the M-8 Gathering Station into eight fire zones, with Fire Zone 1 (Crude Oil Storage Tank Area) identified as the critical design case, having the highest fire-water demand of 1,195 GPM. The infrastructure analysis shows that the water pond capacity of 1,386 m³ and foam tank capacity of 5,151 liters are sufficient to meet a four-hour operational requirement. Hydraulic analysis indicates a required pump discharge pressure of 132.43 psig to ensure effective fire suppression. The study concludes that the designed fire protection system meets safety standards and recommends the installation of appropriate nozzles and clean agent systems to enhance fire safety and operational reliability at Gathering Station M-8.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the influence of teacher quality and learning methods on ICT utilization and its impact on learning quality at SMKN 5 Bandung, both partially and simultaneously, with ICT as an intervening variable. The study uses a quantitative survey method with 83 teacher respondents. Data were analyzed through descriptive and verifiable analysis using SPSS path analysis. The descriptive results showed that teacher quality, learning methods, and learning quality were in the medium category, while ICT utilization was in the high category. Verifiable analysis showed that teacher quality and learning methods simultaneously had a significant effect on ICT utilization (R² = 0.488). Partially, learning methods had a significant effect on ICT utilization (ρ = 0.775; Sig. < 0.001), while teacher quality did not show a significant effect. ICT utilization has a positive and significant effect on learning quality (path coefficient = 0.342; R² = 79.3%). Learning methods also had a direct effect on learning quality (ρ = 0.500), while teacher quality did not show a significant influence. Path analysis showed that the indirect effect of learning methods through ICT (26.5%) was greater than the direct effect (25.0%). Simultaneously, teacher quality and learning methods have a significant effect on learning quality. The study concludes that learning methods and ICT utilization are dominant factors in enhancing learning quality at SMKN 5 Bandung, while teacher quality still requires optimization, particularly in ICT integration.

Abstract

Stevens–Johnson syndrome (SJS) and toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN) are life-threatening cutaneous adverse drug reactions with high mortality. Carbamazepine, an aromatic anticonvulsant, is a major trigger in Southeast Asian populations due to HLA-B*15:02 genetic susceptibility. In patients with organic mental disorder (gangguan mental organik, GMO) and epilepsy, early diagnosis is often delayed because prodromal symptoms overlap with psychiatric manifestations or are masked by communication barriers. This case report aims to describe the diagnostic and emergency management challenges of carbamazepine-induced SJS/TEN in a patient with GMO and epilepsy. This case report was compiled retrospectively based on medical records and clinical documentation from Dr. Radjiman Wediodiningrat Lawang Mental Hospital. A 26-year-old female with GMO and epilepsy developed SJS/TEN overlap with 10–29% body surface area (BSA) involvement one week after carbamazepine initiation. Symptoms included high fever (39.8 °C), painful swallowing, an erythema-multiforme–like rash, bullae, and severe mucosal erosions of the lips and eyes. The Nikolsky sign was positive. Laboratory findings showed elevated liver enzymes and electrolyte imbalances. Carbamazepine and all psychiatric medications were immediately discontinued. The patient received high-dose intravenous methylprednisolone, fluid resuscitation, and supportive care before referral to a tertiary hospital. Diagnosing SJS/TEN in patients with mental disorders requires high clinical vigilance due to atypical presentations. Prompt drug withdrawal is critical despite the dilemma of seizure control. Multidisciplinary collaboration is essential for optimal management and improved prognosis.

Abstract

Globalization and the increasing involvement of cross-national actors in the hospitality industry have created multicultural work environments that require effective intercultural communication. Differences in cultural backgrounds between expatriate management and local employees may generate communication barriers that affect organizational effectiveness. This study aims to explain the forms of intercultural communication barriers that occur between expatriate management and local staff at Bali Garden Beach Resort. The study adopts a qualitative approach using a case study method based on Yin’s case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with expatriate and local informants and were analyzed using Edward T. Hall’s Intercultural Communication Theory, particularly the concepts of high-context and low-context culture. The findings indicate that intercultural communication barriers arise from differences in message delivery styles, interpretations of verbal and nonverbal communication, perceptions of hierarchy, as well as orientations toward time and work professionalism. These cultural differences are often not recognized as cultural issues but are instead perceived as individual attitude or performance problems. This study highlights the importance of strategically managing intercultural communication in multicultural hospitality organizations.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the experiences and challenges faced by students during the Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) regarding managing interpersonal communication to maintain relationships despite physical distance and differing schedules. This study used qualitative methods with a narrative approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews. The results showed that students experienced a range of complex emotions, such as longing, sadness, anxiety, and frustration. These feelings mainly arise from disrupted communication routines, demanding KKN activities, and limited time for interaction. As a result, their communication patterns shift from emotionally oriented conversations to more functional interactions, primarily conducted through digital platforms such as WhatsApp using text messages and occasional video calls. To maintain relationships, students employ several strategies, including honesty, consistent communication, conflict management, commitment, and mutual understanding. Therefore, maintaining a long-distance relationship during the KKN period requires adaptive communication skills, effective emotional regulation, and an understanding of each partner's limitations. These findings highlight the importance of flexibility and emotional intelligence in maintaining relationships under challenging circumstances

Abstract

Dyspepsia is a collection of symptoms related to gastroduodenal disorders, such as pain or burning in the epigastrium, postprandial fullness, upper abdominal bloating, and early satiety. Dyspepsia is classified into two types, namely organic dyspepsia and functional dyspepsia. Organic dyspepsia is accompanied by structural abnormalities such as gastritis, peptic ulcers, gastric cancer, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), and gastric acid hypersecretion, whereas functional dyspepsia does not show abnormalities on physical examination or endoscopy. Dietary and lifestyle factors play a major role in the occurrence of dyspepsia, including the consumption of spicy, fatty, and baked foods; overeating; coffee consumption; smoking habits; alcohol intake; the use of anti-inflammatory drugs; and lack of physical activity. This study is qualitative research with a case study approach using a purposive sampling technique on one respondent. The measuring tool used was the change in dyspepsia symptoms before and after the intervention. The results showed that after four sessions of acupuncture therapy, there was a decrease in pain intensity and dyspepsia symptoms. Based on these results, acupuncture can be considered a complementary therapy for the treatment of dyspepsia in patients at the Griya Sehat Thabib Clinic Prof. Jim Bekasi.

Abstract

The emergence of exclusive and intolerant religious narratives in the digital space has the potential to erode the multicultural spirit in Indonesia. In the context of da'wah, such a reality requires effective strategies as an effort to prevent and minimize division. However, the situation in various da'wah spaces still shows partiality, meaning the da'wah message is not delivered in accordance with the cultural, social, and digital literacy conditions of the audience. This remains a challenge to be addressed in da'wah, especially in cyberspace. Based on this reality, this study aims to examine the concept of inclusive da'wah as a strategy capable of accommodating differences and preventing religious exclusivism in cyberspace. The research method uses a qualitative approach with a literature review method. The results show that inclusive da'wah in the digital realm is conducted based on constructive, educational, participatory, and contextual communication. Inclusive da'wah in the virtual world can be applied to digital media such as social media, YouTube, podcasts, blogs, and websites. This research has implications for the development of a more inclusive and responsive digital da'wah model.

Abstract

The event organizer industry is part of the tourism service sector, which has project-based operational characteristics with a high degree of variability. Unlike the recurring service sector, events take place within a limited time frame, involve many parties, and are influenced by unpredictable environmental conditions. These conditions mean that a static, planning-based operational management approach cannot always guarantee the stability of event implementation. This study aims to develop a conceptual framework of Adaptive Event Management Capability as a model of operational resilience for event organizer organizations. The study uses a conceptual approach through the integration of dynamic capability theory, organizational resilience, and service management. The analysis was conducted through a literature synthesis to construct a theoretical framework of adaptive capabilities in project-based service organizations. The results of the study indicate that the operational resilience of event organizations is shaped by four key capabilities, namely anticipatory capability, responsive capability, transformative capability, and sustainable stabilization capability. These four capabilities form an operational learning cycle that determines the consistency of organizational performance. These findings confirm that the success of activities is determined not only by the quality of planning but also by the organization’s ability to interpret and adjust its actions to changing situations. This research contributes to the development of tourism service management studies by positioning the stability of operational processes as a key factor in the performance of project-based organizations.
