Abstract

Ischemic stroke is a global health burden, including in Indonesia, where the incidence and prevalence are very high. Although the treatment of ischemic stroke has advanced, mechanical thrombectomy is becoming a significant interventional procedure. This research aims to review the effectiveness, safety, and challenges of implementing mechanical thrombectomy in real clinical practice, as well as to analyze the factors influencing treatment outcomes. The literature review was conducted using a narrative approach, with articles selected from PubMed published between 2020–2025 in English, discussing thrombectomy in acute ischemic stroke, and available in full text. Articles not meeting these criteria, including those published before 2020, case reports, and literature reviews, were excluded. Of 1,171 articles, five met the criteria for analysis. Mechanical thrombectomy demonstrates high effectiveness with high recanalization rates, often surpassing those reported in clinical trials. However, these technical advances do not always correlate with improved patient quality of life due to changes in patient profiles, such as older age, moderate vascular occlusion, and delayed treatment. While the procedure is relatively safe, expanding patient criteria and systemic factors may increase the risk of mortality. Key challenges include limited access, lack of expertise, diagnostic barriers, financial constraints, and service gaps. Mechanical thrombectomy is an effective treatment for ischemic stroke, significantly improving recanalization rates. Long-term outcomes depend on factors such as treatment timeliness, case complexity, and patient age. To optimize benefits, improving workflows, expanding access to services, and tailoring treatment strategies to individual patient conditions are essential.

Abstract

The reform of criminal law through Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code (New Criminal Code) marks a paradigm shift in the Indonesian criminal justice system—from a retributive approach to a more humanistic and corrective one. This article aims to analyze the reorientation of the criminal justice system towards restorative justice from the perspective of the New Criminal Code, by placing the values of restoration, balance, and humanity as the main cornerstones of criminalization. In contrast to previous research, which generally positions restorative justice as limited to sectoral law enforcement policies or the discretion of the apparatus, this article emphasizes that the New Criminal Code has integrated the principles of restorative justice both normatively and structurally into the national criminal law system. The analysis was carried out using a normative and conceptual juridical approach to the purpose of punishment, sentencing guidelines, and the role of judges in imposing sentences, as stipulated in the New Criminal Code, and by comparing these with conventional criminal justice practices. The results of the study show that the New Criminal Code not only accommodates restorative justice as an alternative mechanism for case resolution but also establishes it as a philosophical orientation for the criminal justice system, which has implications for changing the perspectives of perpetrators, victims, and society. Thus, this reorientation requires consistent implementation by law enforcement officials so that the goals of criminal law reform can be achieved substantively.

Abstract

Hospitals as service organizations face increasingly complex challenges in managing healthcare service marketing amid rising patient expectations regarding service quality and experience. One relevant approach in hospital service marketing is the service marketing mix (7P), which includes product, price, place, promotion, people, process, and physical evidence. However, existing studies indicate that the implementation of the service marketing mix (7P) in hospitals remains largely partial and lacks strategic integration. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the service marketing mix (7P) as a service marketing strategy in hospitals through a literature review approach. A narrative–analytical literature review was conducted by examining 20 relevant national and international journal articles retrieved from the Google Scholar, Scopus, and Garuda databases. The analysis employed a thematic approach to identify implementation patterns, the role of each 7P element, and the implications of service marketing mix integration for patient experience, satisfaction, and loyalty. The findings reveal that although the service marketing mix (7P) has been widely adopted in hospital marketing studies, its practical implementation remains insufficiently integrated. The people, process, and physical evidence elements play a dominant role in shaping patient experience, while the lack of integration among the 7P elements contributes to service inconsistency and low patient loyalty. This study highlights the importance of positioning the service marketing mix (7P) as an integrated, patient-experience-oriented service marketing strategy to enhance marketing effectiveness and hospital competitiveness.

Abstract

Menarche, the first menstruation, is a key indicator of biological maturity in girls. The age at menarche varies due to factors such as genetics, environment, physical activity, socioeconomic conditions, and nutritional status. Proper nutrition is crucial for sexual maturation because it affects reproductive hormones. Poor nutrition can delay menarche, whereas overnutrition or obesity may lead to earlier menarche due to increased estrogen levels associated with higher body fat. This research aims to assess the relationship between nutritional status and age at menarche among students at SD Islam Al Azhar 19 Sentra Primer and SMP Islam Al Azhar 22 Sentra Primer. This analytical-descriptive study used a cross-sectional approach with 211 respondents selected through purposive sampling. Nutritional status was measured using anthropometric data (height and weight) and body mass index (BMI) calculation. Age at menarche was obtained through structured interviews. Statistical analysis was conducted to test the relationship between nutritional status and age at menarche, with significance set at p < 0.05. Most respondents had normal nutritional status, and the majority experienced menarche between the ages of 10–11 years. Statistical analysis revealed a significant relationship between nutritional status and age at menarche (p < 0.001), with normal nutritional status correlating with menarche at expected physiological ages. A significant relationship exists between nutritional status and age at menarche. Adequate nutrition is vital for timely menarche, and monitoring nutritional status while promoting balanced diets is essential for supporting adolescent growth, development, and reproductive health.

Abstract

Puberty is a transitional period to adulthood characterized by physical, cognitive, and psychosocial changes. One of the indicators is sexual maturity and reproductive ability, which are influenced by various factors, including nutritional status. Nutritional imbalances can accelerate or delay sexual maturity. This study aims to determine the relationship between nutritional status and sexual maturity in students of SD Al-Irsyad Al-Islamiyyah II Bekasi. The design of this study is quantitative, with an analytical descriptive approach using a cross-sectional method. The sample consisted of 60 students in grades 4, 5, and 6, obtained using a total sampling technique. Nutritional status was measured using the Body Mass Index (BMI) based on the CDC 2000 growth chart, while sexual maturity was assessed using the Tanner staging questionnaire. The data were analyzed using the Chi-square test and Fisher’s exact test. The results showed a significant relationship between nutritional status and sexual maturity in male students, with a p-value = 0.023, and a p-value = 0.036 in the female group. Both results indicate that there is a significant relationship between nutritional status and sexual maturity in boys and girls.

Abstract

Low blood pressure (hypotension) is a condition in which blood pressure is lower than 90/60 mmHg or low enough to cause symptoms such as dizziness and fainting. Acupuncture therapy offers an approach to addressing low blood pressure or hypotension without the side effects of pharmaceutical blood-pressure-raising medications. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of acupuncture treatment for hypotension patients at Bale Terapi Datu (TCM Center NTB) in West Lombok Regency. This single case study involved eight therapy sessions with a 31-year-old female participant who had been experiencing hypotension for the past two weeks. Data collection included observation, interviews, hearing, smell, and touch, following Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) diagnostic standards. Acupuncture points were chosen based on a diagnosis of qi and xue deficiency, with needle manipulation focused on tonification. After eight therapy sessions, the participant experienced significant improvement in blood pressure from 70/80 mmHg to 100/80 mmHg. Additional symptoms such as dizziness, fatigue, constipation, insomnia, loss of appetite, and restlessness have significantly decreased, and the participant’s physical condition has improved. Tongue examination revealed increased redness, and the pulse, which was initially weak, became more stable, indicating a smoother flow of liver qi and blood. The acupuncture treatment provided was effective in treating low blood pressure or hypotension caused by qi and blood deficiency by improving qi flow and increasing blood volume and circulation, thereby improving physical condition and reducing the symptoms experienced by the participant.

Abstract

Hyperglycemia is a chronic condition that can cause serious complications, such as liver damage and elevated SGOT and SGPT enzyme levels, which are closely related to Diabetes Mellitus (DM). Palm fruit (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.), which is rich in antioxidants such as carotenoids, vitamin E, flavonoids, alkaloids, saponins, and tannins, has antidiabetic and hepatoprotective potential. Streptozotocin selectively damages pancreatic β-cells, causing oxidative stress and decreased blood insulin levels. This research aims to analyze the effect of palm fruit extract (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) by observing steatosis, inflammation, fibrosis, and necrosis. This study is a laboratory experimental study with a post-test–only control group randomized experimental design. There were five groups that received treatment for 28 days, namely KN (negative control, pellet feed), KP (positive control, streptozotocin), P1 (treatment 1, streptozotocin 30 mg/kg BW and palm fruit extract dose 100 mg/kg BW), P2 (treatment 2, streptozotocin 30 mg/kg BW and palm fruit extract dose 200 mg/kg BW), and P3 (treatment 3, streptozotocin 30 mg/kg BW and palm fruit extract dose 300 mg/kg BW). The results of this study were analyzed using the Kruskal–Wallis test and the Mann–Whitney test for comparisons between two independent groups. The Kruskal–Wallis test showed that the group comparison results obtained a value of p = 0.000. The Mann–Whitney test showed significant differences in the comparisons of KP with P1, P2, and P3 (p = 0.015 < 0.05; p = 0.007 < 0.05; p = 0.005 < 0.05). The dose of 300 mg/kg BW of palm fruit extract was the most optimal dose for improving the histopathological appearance of liver tissue in male Wistar rats (Rattus norvegicus).

Abstract

Gastritis is one of the most common gastrointestinal disorders and is characterized by inflammation of the gastric mucosa that may cause symptoms such as epigastric pain, nausea, bloating, and decreased appetite. The high prevalence of gastric complaints encourages the exploration of complementary therapies that can support conventional treatment. One alternative approach is acupuncture, particularly Jin’s 3 Needle acupuncture, which aims to restore the balance of body energy and improve digestive function. This study aims to describe the implementation and therapeutic outcomes of Jin’s 3 Needle acupuncture in the management of gastritis patients at Griya Sehat Holistic Kalisari, East Jakarta. This research used a qualitative case study approach involving one gastritis patient who underwent six acupuncture therapy sessions over four weeks. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and clinical examinations including tongue and pulse diagnosis based on Traditional Chinese Medicine principles. The therapy applied several acupuncture points such as CV12, PC6, ST36, BL20, BL21, and CV4 with notification techniques and moxibustion. The findings showed gradual improvement in the patient’s symptoms after repeated therapy sessions. Complaints such as heartburn, nausea, bloating, and decreased appetite were reduced and eventually disappeared. Improvements were also observed in tongue appearance, pulse stability, and overall physical condition. These results indicate that Jin’s 3 Needle acupuncture may serve as a complementary therapy for gastritis management. The study implies that acupuncture has potential to support holistic digestive health care and may be further explored in broader clinical research.

Abstract

Adiposity is a chronic metabolic disorder characterized by excessive fat accumulation and an increased risk of noncommunicable diseases. Its rising prevalence in Indonesia requires effective and safe therapeutic approaches. Acupuncture, as a complementary therapy, is considered to have potential in regulating metabolism and energy balance. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of acupuncture treatment for weight loss in adiposity patients at the Sehat “Tade” Clinic, Cilegon. The study used a qualitative approach with a case study method involving one 48-year-old female participant with a BMI of 37 kg/m². Acupuncture therapy was performed in six sessions over three weeks. Data were obtained through the four Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) examination methods: observation (Wang), listening and smelling (Wen), inquiry (Wen), and palpation (Qie). Effectiveness was assessed based on a comparison of pre- and post-intervention conditions, including weight loss, changes in BMI, clinical complaints, and TCM examination results. After six therapy sessions, there was weight loss and improvement in clinical complaints such as low back pain and headache. TCM examination showed improvement in tongue condition, reduced abdominal tenderness on palpation, and enhanced energy levels and emotional regulation in the patient. The participant also demonstrated positive changes in diet, rest, and physical activity. Acupuncture treatment administered in a structured and individualized manner is effective in promoting weight loss and improving clinical conditions in adiposity patients. This therapy has the potential to serve as a complementary approach in adiposity management and can be further developed through studies with a larger number of participants.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in Batu Bara Regency, focusing on its alignment with applicable laws and regulations. The main objective is to identify gaps between legal expectations and actual practices in CSR implementation, particularly regarding program budgeting, beneficiary selection, proposal submission, and reporting obligations. A qualitative approach using a case study design was employed, involving companies in the region that are required to carry out CSR under national and local regulations. In-depth interviews were conducted with company representatives, local government officials, and community stakeholders. The findings reveal that CSR implementation in Batu Bara Regency often deviates from legal norms, with significant issues in transparency, accountability, and compliance. Companies frequently fail to report CSR budgets and activities as required by regulations, and the beneficiary selection process lacks consistency. Additionally, there is a lack of effective monitoring and weak enforcement of sanctions for noncompliance. The study recommends strengthening regulations, improving coordination between companies and local governments, simplifying submission processes, and increasing community participation to ensure that CSR programs meet legal standards and effectively promote community welfare.
