Abstract

Myalgia is a common musculoskeletal disorder characterized by muscle pain and discomfort, often caused by excessive activity, poor posture, or stress. In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), acupuncture is used to regulate Qi and Xue flow to relieve pain and improve body function. This research aims to determine the benefits of acupuncture care in overcoming pain in the shoulder and neck area in myalgia patients at the Iryas Cisauk Health Clinic. This research used a qualitative descriptive design with a case study approach in one myalgia patient. Data collection was carried out through anamnesis, physical examination, and examinations based on TCM principles such as pulse and tongue examinations. Pain intensity was measured using the Numerical Rating Scale (NRS). Acupuncture therapy is administered during eight sessions of visits, and evaluations are carried out at each session to see the progression of the patient's condition. The results showed significant improvement after acupuncture therapy. The patient's pain scale decreased from NRS 6 to 0–1 after eight therapy sessions. In addition, there is an increase in the range of motion in the neck and shoulders, a reduction in pain points, and an improvement in daily activities and the quality of sleep of patients. Acupuncture care provided in a structured manner based on the diagnosis of TCM syndrome is effective in reducing myalgia pain, improving movement function, and helping the patient's condition recover. Acupuncture therapy can be a safe and beneficial alternative to non-pharmacological therapy in the treatment of musculoskeletal pain.

Abstract

The use of body part terms in everyday expressions is a well-documented phenomenon across many languages, yet it remains underexplored in Tetun , one of the official languages of Timor-Leste. Body part lexemes in Tetun frequently appear as components in compound words, producing words that go far beyond their literal anatomical references. This research aims to describe the form-meaning relationship in body-part compound words in Tetun and to uncover the cultural values and social concepts reflected within them. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed. Data were collected through observation and note-taking of natural speech, supplemented by dictionary consultation and interviews. The corpus consists of Tetun compound words containing body-part elements, classified and analyzed using Bauer's typology of compounding and Lieber's morphosemantic framework, alongside conceptual metaphor and metonymy theory. The analysis identifies three main categories of body-part compounds: compositional, metonymic, and metaphorical. Compositional compounds retain transparent semantic links between their elements, while metonymic compounds use a body part to refer to related functions or states. Metaphorical compounds, the most dominant category, map physical bodily experience onto abstract psychological and social domains. From an anthropolinguistic perspective, the body functions as a cultural symbol system through which Tetun speakers evaluate behavior, express emotions, and understand social roles. This study contributes to Tetun morphology documentation and enriches Austronesian linguistic studies by demonstrating how language, cognition, and culture intersect through bodily experience. The findings also have practical value for Tetun lexicography and language education

Abstract

The psychoanalytic theory developed by Sigmund Freud provides a fundamental foundation for understanding the structure of personality and human psychosexual development. This article aims to analyze, in depth, the basic concepts of psychoanalysis, the mechanisms of ego defense, as well as their clinical application in the counseling process. The method used is a literature review, comparing various reference sources related to the implementation of psychoanalysis. The results of the study show that the success of counseling is highly dependent on the ego’s ability to balance conflicts between the id and the superego through specific techniques such as free association and transference analysis. The findings also suggest that psychoanalysis remains relevant in contemporary counseling due to its capacity to explore the depth of personality and the symbolic meaning of behavior. The implications of this study are that counselors need to integrate an understanding of unconscious dynamics with appropriate therapeutic techniques to enhance the effectiveness of interventions, particularly in cases involving trauma and long-standing psychological conflict. The conclusions of this study confirm that, although it is a classical theory, psychoanalysis remains relevant for examining the roots of psychological problems stemming from past experiences.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the application of behavioral therapy theory in behavioral counseling through a comprehensive literature review. The study employs behavioral therapy, rooted in learning theory, which emphasizes observable behavior and environmental influences as key determinants of human actions. The study synthesizes major theoretical frameworks—including classical conditioning, operant conditioning, social learning theory, and cognitive behavioral therapy—to explain how maladaptive behaviors are formed and modified. Using a qualitative literature review method, data were collected from scientific journals, books, and relevant academic sources, then analyzed through comparative and integrative approaches. The findings indicate that behavioral counseling focuses on systematic behavior change through reinforcement, punishment, modeling, and cognitive restructuring techniques. The approach is highly structured, measurable, and goal-oriented, allowing counselors to design interventions based on empirical evidence. Additionally, behavioral therapy effectively addresses various psychological and social problems by replacing maladaptive behaviors with adaptive ones through learning processes. The integration of cognitive elements has further strengthened its relevance in contemporary counseling practices. Despite its strengths—such as objectivity and practicality—behavioral therapy also faces limitations, including its tendency to overlook internal psychological processes and emotional depth. Overall, the study concludes that behavioral therapy remains a significant and widely applicable approach in counseling, particularly in educational, clinical, and social contexts, due to its evidence-based techniques and adaptability to diverse client needs.

Abstract

The ineffectiveness of Western counseling theory in the sociocultural context of Indonesia underscores the need for a model that is relevant and rooted in local values. This study aims to analyze in depth the KIPAS (Intensive, Progressive, Adaptive, and Structured Counseling) model as a holistic framework for student character development, with a special focus on the integration of the Catur Murti philosophy from Raden Mas Panji Sosrokartono. Using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method, this study surveyed the scientific literature from various databases covering the period 2009–2024. The results indicate that KIPAS has a solid philosophical foundation through the decolonization of Western epistemology and the positioning of local wisdom as the core of its practice. This model inherently prevents cultural encapsulation by redefining the counselor’s role from an “expert” to a cultural facilitator who understands problems as “interactional problem situations.” The primary mechanism of character development occurs through the internalization of the concept of Catur Murti (alignment of Creation, Taste, Speech, and Work), which enables character transformation from within, producing individuals who are honest (bares), confident (steady), and courageous (wani). The implications of these findings emphasize the need to transform the competencies of school counselors and to open a broader empirical agenda for follow-up research to test the effectiveness of the model across diverse cultural contexts.

Abstract

Guidance and counseling services require a strong theoretical foundation to build effective therapeutic relationships. Person-Centered Therapy (PCT), developed by Carl Rogers, offers a humanistic approach that places the client as the primary agent in the process of change. This article aims to comprehensively map the concepts, mechanisms, and practical implications of PCT in the context of counseling services through a literature review method. This writing uses a narrative literature study design with data sources derived from national (SINTA, Garuda) and international (PubMed/StatPearls) journal databases. The results of the study show that the success of PCT is highly dependent on the creation of core conditions by counselors, namely empathy, unconditional positive regard, and congruence. The thematic findings highlight the role of PCT in improving self-concept, increasing resilience in vulnerable populations, and facilitating self-actualization through an equal partnership relationship between counselors and counselors. The practical implications of this study underscore the importance of active listening and reflection skills training for guidance and counseling practitioners to improve the quality of services in various educational and community settings. In conclusion, PCT remains relevant as the foundation of assistance relations that humanize humans in the modern era. Watson et al. (2011) affirm that empathic attunement within a person-centred frame is a transtheoretically validated mechanism of change that underpins therapeutic effectiveness regardless of specific orientation

Abstract

Amylum is widely used as an excipient in pharmaceutical formulations, one of which is inert and can be mixed with any drug without causing a chemical reaction. The aim of this research is to know the preparation method of cassava amylum (Durio zibethinus, Murr) native and pregelatinized which is used as binder to dissolution rate of paracetamol tablet with granulation method. The native and pregelatinized amylum produced from cassava is carried out by a preliminary test to determine the nature of physical characteristics and to know the ability as a binder of the tablet. The paracetamol tablets produced from the two methods were tested dissolution using medium buffer phosphate at 37 ± 0,5 ° C (pH 5.8, 50 rpm). The results showed that cassava starch preparation method had an effect on dissolution rate of tablet. Pregelatinized amylum as binder on paracetamol tablet showed Q value (93,17 ± 0,01)% while native amylum showed value of Q (81,76 ± 0,20)%. The use of pregelatinized cassava starch as a binder on paracetamol tablet has better characteristic properties compared with native starch

Abstract

This research aims to analyze legal aspects related to material and immaterial compensation lawsuits for damage to goods in the delivery process by cargo companies and the falsification of insurance payment receipts. This problem is important because it concerns legal protection for consumers and the responsibility of business actors in goods transportation activities. The research method used is quantitative with a legislative approach and a conceptual approach, supported by a literature study of various primary and secondary legal sources. The results of the study show that cargo companies are in principle responsible for damage to goods that occur during the delivery process, unless it can be proven that there are compelling circumstances. However, in the case of falsification of proof of insurance payment, there is an element of unlawful acts that strengthen the basis of a lawsuit for the aggrieved party. Material damages can be sued based on actual losses suffered, while immaterial damages relate to non-economic losses such as inconvenience and psychological losses. In addition, such acts of counterfeiting have the potential to have criminal legal consequences that have an impact on civil liability. In conclusion, legal protection for shipping service users needs to be strengthened through the enforcement of cargo company liability and supervision of insurance practices in the transportation of goods. This research is expected to contribute to the development of civil law, especially in the aspects of consumer accountability and protection
