Abstract

One of the main objectives of waqf, which is called Tasbil al-Thamarat, is to make waqf assets useful and productive. Waqf properties must be developed using instruments that can provide good benefits for waqf. Profits from waqf assets must be used for the benefit of the welfare of Muslims. Waqf infrastructure is considered as the most effective way to ensure the expansion of waqf while at the same time providing distribution services to the general public. This bibliometric study maps research related to the development of Waqf and Infrastructure research trends published by leading journals from 2001 to 2021 which have been indexed by Scopus. Analysis is focused on trending keywords, authors and institutions. The data analyzed were 118 research publications. This study provides information for researchers who focus on research in the field of Islamic Philanthropy, especially waqf infrastructure instruments. In the end, this theme has the potential to continue to be developed.

This study tries to analyze the contribution of BAZNAS through Zakat, Infaq, Alms, and Waqf (ZISWAF) funds to mitigate the impact of COVID-19 in the fields of economy, education, social humanity, health, and da'wah in Indonesia and to know which aspect has a bigger role than the five aspects studied. This study uses a qualitative and quantitative approach (mixed method). The data collection technique was carried out through in-depth interviews with experts consisting of academics, practitioners, scholars, and regulators. The data analysis technique uses Analytical Network Process (ANP) with Super Decision 2.10 software. The results of this study are that of the five aspects studied, 1) social & humanitarian criteria have the highest weight and become a priority for BAZNAS's contribution to mitigating the risk of the impact of COVID-19 in Indonesia. Another order of priority: 2) health; 3) da’wah; 4) education; 5) economy which is the last priority for BAZNAS's contribution. The potential implication of this research is to provide alternative strategies for BAZNAS in making some decisions.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to identify attitudes about ZISWAF throughout the previous five years, from 2019 to 2023, and to determine whether or not moral hazard can exist at ZISWAF institutions. The technique involves using SentiStrength and Microsoft Excel 2019 to analyse secondary data in metadata from 149 journals collected from Dimensions, together with descriptive statistical analysis, meta-analysis, and sentiment analysis. The sentiment analysis's findings demonstrate the perspectives of ZISWAF researchers, with neutral sentiments representing for 41%, positive sentiments for 32%, and negative sentiments for 26%. ZISWAF-related research reveals a positive attitude since people are still optimistic about this financial instrument's potential to solve social issues. The fact that ZISWAF fund management still operates on a manual method, which is susceptible to moral hazard and human error, the ineffectiveness of ZISWAF management, and the lack of a supervisory institution for ZISWAF fund management all contributed to the unfavourable sentiment that was discovered in the research regarding to ZISWAF. As a further practical application, this study makes recommendations to regulators, academics, and the ZISWAF Institution.
