Abstract

Cross-border e-commerce has become an important component of the global digital economy, enabling consumers to engage in international online transactions while simultaneously facing challenges related to information asymmetry, perceived risk, and trust. This study aims to synthesize existing literature on the relationships among price transparency, perceived risk, and consumer trust in cross-border e-commerce. A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) was conducted following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines. Articles were retrieved from the Scopus database using keywords related to price transparency, perceived transaction, perceived risk, trust, and cross-border e-commerce. From an initial pool of 476 articles, 45 studies met the inclusion criteria and were analyzed through thematic analysis supported by the Watase Uake System. The findings reveal that price transparency, consumer trust, and perceived risk are the dominant themes shaping consumer behavior in cross-border digital marketplaces. Price transparency plays a critical role in reducing information asymmetry and enhancing consumer confidence, while trust acts as a key mechanism for mitigating uncertainty in international online transactions. The review also highlights the growing importance of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain, and augmented reality (AR), in strengthening transparency, security, and transaction efficiency. Furthermore, the literature is primarily grounded in Information Asymmetry Theory, Theory of Planned Behavior, Signaling Theory, and Structural Equation Modeling approaches. This study concludes that transparent pricing practices and trust-enhancing digital environments are essential for sustainable cross-border e-commerce development and recommends further research focusing on developing countries, cross-cultural contexts, and technology-driven trust mechanisms.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the development of Human Resource Management (HRM) research in borderland regions through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. The increasing complexity of cross border phenomena such as migration, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, data governance, global health systems, and sustainability requires an integrated synthesis of fragmented scholarly developments. The study follows the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines, using Scopus as the primary database for publications from 2016 to 2026. A total of 49 articles were selected and analyzed using thematic, comparative, and contextual synthesis. The findings reveal that HRM research in borderlands remains predominantly anchored in Strategic Human Resource Management (SHRM), emphasizing organizational performance outcomes through variables such as employee engagement, leadership, organizational culture, training, and employee performance. Although emerging studies indicate a shift toward digital HRM, artificial intelligence governance, human rights based HRM, and cross border health and regulatory systems, these developments remain fragmented and lack theoretical integration. Dominant frameworks such as the Resource Based View, Institutional Theory, and Social Exchange Theory continue to be widely used; however, they are insufficient to fully explain the socio technical, ethical, and geopolitical complexity of borderland HRM contexts. The research gap identified in this study lies in the absence of an integrative and multidimensional framework that connects technological transformation, human centered governance, and cross border institutional dynamics within HRM scholarship. Existing studies tend to be siloed within organizational performance, technological adoption, or institutional regulation, without a unified conceptual synthesis. The novelty of this study lies in systematically synthesizing fragmented HRM literature in borderland contexts and proposing the need for a holistic, adaptive, and multidisciplinary HRM perspective that integrates digital technology, human rights, employee wellbeing, cultural diversity, regulatory systems, and global geopolitical dynamics. This study concludes that HRM in borderlands should be reconceptualized as an adaptive socio technical and institutional system rather than merely a performance driven organizational tool.

Abstract

Early literacy is a critical foundation for young children’s academic development that determines lifelong learning success. This research is motivated by the low early literacy ability of Group A children at TK Al-Azhar, Muaro Jambi Regency, indicated by limited letter recognition, phonemic awareness, and vocabulary. This study aims to analyze the effect of the Guided Play strategy on early literacy abilities of Group A children at TK Al-Azhar, Muaro Jambi Regency. The method used is a quasi-experimental approach with a pretest-posttest nonequivalent control group design. The research sample comprised 40 children, consisting of 20 in the experimental group and 20 in the control group. The research instrument was an early literacy observation sheet with 20 indicators. Data analysis techniques included Shapiro-Wilk normality test, Levene’s homogeneity test, and Paired Sample t-Test. The results showed a significant improvement in early literacy ability in the experimental group, with the pretest mean score of 44.75 increasing to 74.85 in the posttest. The Paired Sample t-Test yielded t = -18.392 with Sig. (2-tailed) = 0.000 < 0.05. Therefore, H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted, indicating that the Guided Play strategy significantly affects early literacy ability of Group A children at TK Al-Azhar, Muaro Jambi Regency. This study recommends the systematic application of the Guided Play strategy in literacy learning at the early childhood education level.

Abstract

Expressive language ability is a crucial aspect of early childhood development that enables children to articulate thoughts, feelings, and needs to their social environment. This study aims to describe the implementation of role-playing method and its effectiveness in improving expressive language skills of children aged 4–5 years at TK Tunas Indah, Jambi City. The study employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design following the Kemmis and McTaggart model, conducted in two cycles each comprising planning, action, observation, and reflection phases. The subjects were 15 children from Group A at TK Tunas Indah Jambi for the 2024/2025 academic year. Data were collected through observation, documentation, and field notes, and analyzed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Results revealed a significant improvement in children's expressive language ability across cycles. In the pre-cycle, 40% of children were categorized as Not Yet Developing (BB), 33% as Beginning to Develop (MB), 20% as Developing as Expected (BSH), and 7% as Developing Very Well (BSB). Following Cycle II, BB dropped to 0%, MB to 13%, BSH rose to 40%, and BSB reached 47%. These findings confirm that the role-playing method effectively stimulates children's active language use, expands vocabulary, builds speaking confidence, and strengthens social interaction. This research provides practical contributions for early childhood educators in designing innovative and engaging language learning activities.

Abstract

Media coverage of the murder of an Indonesian Embassy staff member in Peru has generated diverse interpretations regarding the motives, characteristics, and context of the crime. This topic warrants scholarly attention, as media construction of criminal cases can shape public perception and social understanding of crime. Although studies on crime news construction have been widely conducted, prior research remains limited in examining cases with diplomatic and inter-state dimensions that simultaneously consider interpretations from both national and international media alongside actors responses, amid restricted information access and ongoing legal proceedings. This study aims to analyse how media coverage of this case produces diverse interpretations through the lens of critical criminology. A qualitative case study design was employed through digital observation, interviews, and literature review. The analysis draws on Richard Quinney’s Social Reality of Crime theory, specifically the propositions of definition of crime, construction of criminal conceptions, and the social reality of crime. The findings reveal that media outlets constructed the case through varied terminology, sources, and narratives, framing it as organised crime, mistaken identity, and geopolitical entanglement. These constructions shaped actor interpretations ranging from ordinary criminal acts, premeditated murder, transnational criminal networks, to international geopolitical interests. This interaction ultimately produced a social reality of crime that is dynamic and contextual, thus, this study demonstrates that crime is a social construction shaped through interpretation, power relations, and media narratives in the public sphere.

Abstract

This final project is titled “Raden Mas Said’s Mnemonic Dish as the Concept Behind the Creation of Batik Motifs for Couture Apparel.” The creation of this work is inspired by Raden Mas Said’s struggle and by the philosophy of jenang katul, which serves as a symbol of his closeness to the common people. The mnemonic concept was used as the basis for this creation because mnemonics are techniques that help people remember through specific symbols and experiences. Jenang katul was chosen as a mnemonic tool because it holds historical and philosophical significance and is used as an offering in Javanese traditions. The creation of the batik motifs was inspired by the story of Raden Mas Said, who drew a war strategy from Nyi Ageng Karang’s simple advice on how to eat jenang katul. This story is represented through the “Nuju Pusat” motif, which depicts a strategy of attacking from the periphery toward the center. Furthermore, this work also highlights the values of the Tri Dharma and Raden Mas Said’s spirit of nationalism, such as a sense of belonging to the homeland, the courage to defend one’s birthplace, and a spirit of unity. Through this couture fashion piece based on batik motifs, it is hoped that the public will view the work as a reminder to love, preserve, and develop Indonesia’s culture and homeland.

Abstract

Pomade is a hair oil made from oily or wax-based ingredients and is applied for hairstyling. The use of pomade is intended to make the hair appear smoother, shinier, and more moisturized. Pomade has been proven to provide longer-lasting hairstyling effects compared to most other hair care products. Papaya seeds (Carica papaya L.) are known to contain chemical compounds such as flavonoids, phenols, alkaloids, terpenoids, and saponins, which are beneficial for promoting hair growth. The enzyme carpain, found in the alkaloid group, is believed to help maintain hair pigment. Meanwhile, virgin coconut oil (VCO) has long been traditionally used to nourish hair. Virgin coconut oil (VCO) contains high amounts of vitamin E, vitamin K, lauric acid, and iron, which serve as essential nutrients and vitamins for moisturizing the hair. This study was conducted experimentally by formulating and testing the stability of pomade preparations using papaya seed oil and VCO at concentrations of 5%, 7.5%, and 10%, followed by evaluation. The evaluation of the formulation included organoleptic tests, homogeneity tests, irritation tests, hedonic (preference) tests, pH tests, spreadability tests, resistance tests, rinsing tests, and stability tests. The results showed that the pomade formulation met the quality and stability evaluation requirements. It had a semi-solid texture, a green tea scent, and different colors for each formulation: F0 was ivory white, F1 (5%) was cream-colored, F2 (7.5%) was cream-colored, and F3 (10%) was yellowish-white. The most preferred formulation was F2 with a 7.5% concentration. All formulations were homogeneous and did not cause skin irritation. They had a pH range of 5.3–6.5, a spreadability range of 4.3–6.5 cm, and demonstrated stable consistency without significant changes. In conclusion, the formulation of pomade using a combination of papaya seed oil (Carica papaya L.) and virgin coconut oil (VCO) can be developed as a pomade that provides a shiny and moisturized hair appearance while preserving hair pigment for long-term use. The concentrations of 5%, 7.5%, and 10% remained stable during the stability tests.

Abstract

Hypertension is one of the most prevalent chronic diseases among older adults and is frequently associated with anxiety, which may negatively affect blood pressure control, treatment adherence, and overall quality of life. Anxiety that is not properly managed can also increase the risk of cardiovascular complications and reduce the effectiveness of hypertension management. Therefore, providing education on non-pharmacological interventions is essential to enhance older adults' knowledge and self-management capabilities. This study aimed to analyze the effect of slow deep breathing education on improving knowledge regarding anxiety management among older adults with hypertension. A quantitative study employing a quasi-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design was conducted involving 70 older adults with hypertension selected through total sampling from the working area of the Baitussalam Community Health Center, Aceh Besar. Participants received structured educational sessions on slow deep breathing techniques as a complementary strategy for anxiety management. Knowledge was assessed using a validated structured questionnaire administered before and after the intervention. The collected data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test to determine differences in knowledge scores between the pretest and posttest. The results demonstrated a statistically significant improvement in participants' knowledge following the educational intervention (p < 0.001), indicating that the program effectively increased their understanding of anxiety management through slow deep breathing. These findings suggest that slow deep breathing education represents an effective, practical, and community-based health education strategy for enhancing knowledge and promoting anxiety self-management among older adults with hypertension, thereby supporting comprehensive and holistic hypertension care.

Abstract

Sustainable business performance has become a strategic priority for manufacturing firms as increasing environmental regulations and competitive pressures require organizations to integrate operational efficiency with sustainability objectives. However, previous studies have largely examined the direct relationship between operational excellence and sustainable business performance, while limited attention has been given to the mediating role of operational performance in this relationship, particularly within emerging economies. This study aims to examine the effect of operational excellence on sustainable business performance and to investigate the mediating role of operational performance among manufacturing firms in Indonesia. A quantitative explanatory research design was employed using survey data collected from 312 medium and large-scale manufacturing companies in West Java. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 4. The findings indicate that operational excellence has a significant positive effect on sustainable business performance and significantly enhances operational performance. Furthermore, operational performance positively influences sustainable business performance and mediates the relationship between operational excellence and sustainable business performance. These findings support the Resource Based View by demonstrating that operational capabilities create sustainable competitive advantages when translated into superior operational outcomes. The study contributes to the sustainability and operations management literature by clarifying the capability building mechanism linking operational excellence to sustainable business performance in an emerging economy context. Managerially, the findings suggest that manufacturing firms should strengthen operational execution capabilities through continuous improvement, process standardization, and operational efficiency initiatives to achieve long-term sustainability.
