Abstract

Soil macrofauna play an important role in maintaining soil quality and fertility, including through improving aeration, water absorption, and the dispersal and decomposition of organic matter. The presence of macrofauna is also an effective biological indicator to assess soil conditions ecologically. This study aims to assess soil quality based on the diversity of macrofauna species found in landfill areas in Semarang City. The approach used was quantitative method with sampling technique using pitfall trap at three points of observation location. Based on the identification results, 11 species of macrofauna were found with a total of 85 individuals. The diversity index value in diurnal and nocturnal communities showed a medium category, indicating a fairly good species diversity although uneven. The average index values for both time groups were relatively equal, reflecting the stability of the macrofauna community in the two periods of daily activity. Sites with good natural vegetation tended to have higher soil quality, while areas directly exposed to landfill activities showed degraded soil quality due to lack of vegetation cover and high inorganic waste content.

Abstract

Ketahanan pangan Kota Semarang masih menghadapi tantangan akibat rendahnya produksi pangan lokal dibandingkan kebutuhan konsumsi masyarakat sehingga kota masih bergantung pada pasokan pangan dari luar daerah. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis potensi urban farming berbasis Internet of Things (IoT) dalam mendukung ketahanan pangan perkotaan. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif berbasis data sekunder Badan Pusat Statistik, dokumen perencanaan wilayah, dan Systematic Literature Review (SLR) terkait urban farming serta smart farming berbasis IoT. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa simulasi pemanfaatan 100% ruang terbuka hijau (RTH) berpotensi meningkatkan produksi pangan lokal hingga mendekati kondisi swasembada pangan dan menurunkan defisit pangan secara signifikan. Namun, pendekatan tersebut bersifat teoritis dan berpotensi menimbulkan dampak ekologis karena RTH tetap memiliki fungsi sosial, ekologis, dan resapan air. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini juga menyusun skenario pemanfaatan RTH secara lebih realistis sebesar 15%, 30%, dan 50%. Hasil simulasi menunjukkan bahwa defisit pangan masih terjadi, tetapi dapat berkurang melalui penerapan urban farming berbasis IoT dan peningkatan produktivitas sebesar 20–50% berdasarkan sintesis literatur smart farming. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa urban farming berbasis IoT berpotensi menjadi strategi pendukung ketahanan pangan perkotaan, meskipun belum mampu memenuhi kebutuhan pangan kota secara keseluruhan. Temuan ini juga membuka peluang penelitian lanjutan terkait pemanfaatan lahan non-RTH seperti rooftop, pekarangan, lahan tidur, dan fasilitas publik untuk mengurangi defisit pangan tanpa meningkatkan risiko alih fungsi ruang terbuka hijau.

Abstract

This study presents a redesign of Sampangan Park (Semarang) into a Free Activity Zone intended to support community socio-economic and social interaction activities. Adopting the LIFE framework (Local Economy Activation, Inclusive Social Interaction, Free Public Access, Eco-friendly), the research uses a case-study approach combining primary (field observation, questionnaires, informal interviews) and secondary data (planning documents and literature). Data were analysed through site analysis, activity analysis, and SWOT to identify strategic issues, followed by spatial zoning and 3-D visualization to formulate design responses. Findings show that Sampangan Park has strategic locational advantages (proximity to arterial roads and existing street vendors) and a multifunctional amphitheatre that can catalyse diverse community activities; however, constraints include pedestrian obstruction by informal vendors, inadequate lighting, drainage and uneven maintenance. The proposed design reintroduces integrated seating, a designated PKL (street vendor) corridor, a history plaza, improved signage and inclusive access (disability-friendly circulation), while preserving green elements and improving management provisions. The study concludes that a zoning + participatory management approach can strengthen the park’s role as an accessible socio-economic public space and recommends further participatory monitoring and a governance plan for implementation.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dinamika transformasi struktural dan daya saing ekonomi Kota Semarang selama periode 2010–2024 yang mencakup tiga fase perencanaan pembangunan. Urgensi penelitian ini didasari oleh perlunya memahami arah rekonfigurasi ekonomi kota inti pasca-pandemi COVID-19 di tengah fenomena penyebaran aktivitas ekonomi ke wilayah penyangga (hinterland). Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan memanfaatkan data Produk Domestik Regional Bruto (PDRB) atas dasar harga konstan 2010, yang dianalisis melalui instrumen Location Quotient (LQ), Dynamic Location Quotient (DLQ), Shift Share Analysis (SSA), dan Tipologi Klassen Dinamis.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya pergeseran ekonomi dari sektor perdagangan konvensional dan konstruksi menuju sektor jasa modern. Sektor Transportasi dan Pergudangan, Real Estat, serta Jasa Perusahaan konsisten berada di Kuadran I (Maju dan Tumbuh Pesat), yang mempertegas peran Semarang sebagai pusat logistik dan jasa. Sementara itu, Sektor Industri Pengolahan terbukti tangguh karena tetap bertahan di Kuadran III (Berkembang Cepat). Sebaliknya, Sektor Perdagangan Besar dan Eceran mengalami penurunan kinerja ke Kuadran IV setelah pandemi. Kesimpulan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa perubahan struktur ekonomi Kota Semarang merupakan bentuk adaptasi untuk mencapai keseimbangan baru melalui penguatan sektor jasa. Rekomendasi kebijakan diarahkan pada penguatan sektor jasa unggulan lewat penataan ruang yang fleksibel serta peningkatan produktivitas manufaktur melalui investasi teknologi

Abstract

The quality of life in a city can be reflected through the availability of public spaces that facilitate both collective and individual activities. In densely populated urban areas such as Semarang, the existence of inclusive and functional parks is essential to enhance social interaction, physical health, and economic activities. To address this need, the Semarang City Government initiated the Free Activity Zone program, which provides cost-free public spaces in line with the city’s vision, mission, and development priorities. Kedondong Park, located in Lamper Tengah Subdistrict, South Semarang District, was chosen as the design site due to its dense population and limited green open space. This research aims to develop Kedondong Park into an inclusive public space that accommodates social interaction, recreation, sports, and community activities. Data collection methods include literature review, field observation, interviews, and questionnaires. The analyses applied consist of SWOT, potential–problem mapping, activity, site, and zoning, which were synthesized into the LIFE design concept: Local Economic Activation, Inclusive Social Interaction, Free Public Access, and Eco-Friendly. The design outcome is a three-dimensional proposal for Kedondong Park, emphasizing improved functionality, comfort, and quality of public space through activity zoning, supporting facilities, and strengthened elements that promote creativity, social interaction, and inclusive community engagement.

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas dinamika pelaksanaan proyek pembangunan Sentra Industri Kecil Menengah (IKM) Logam Kota Semarang di Kawasan Industri Wijayakusuma yang menghadapi berbagai tantangan force majeure. Faktor eksternal seperti pandemi COVID-19, krisis energi global, serta gangguan rantai pasok internasional memberikan dampak signifikan terhadap keterlambatan proyek. Kajian ini menguraikan bagaimana profesionalisme keinsinyuran, khususnya dalam peran Pejabat Pelaksana Teknis Kegiatan (PPTK), mampu menjaga integritas, akuntabilitas, serta memastikan keberlangsungan proyek melalui addendum kontrak dan penerapan prinsip etika insinyur Indonesia. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa penerapan prinsip Catur Karsa Sapta Dharma Insinyur Indonesia menjadi landasan penting dalam pengambilan keputusan yang adil, transparan, dan berkelanjutan. Penelitian ini juga menegaskan pentingnya strategi mitigasi risiko global dalam perencanaan proyek infrastruktur pemerintah.

Abstract

Solid hazardous medical waste (B3 waste) is a hazardous byproduct that requires special handling according to applicable regulations. This study aims to evaluate the management of solid B3 medical waste in two Community Health Centers (Puskesmas) in Gunungpati Regency, namely Sekaran Community Health Center and Gunungpati Community Health Center. A descriptive qualitative method was used, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that the management of solid B3 medical waste in both community health centers has not fully complied with the standards stipulated in the Regulation of the Minister of Health of Indonesia Number 2 of 2023. Sekaran Community Health Center faces challenges such as the lack of fire extinguishers (APAR) in the temporary storage facility, while Gunungpati Community Health Center lacks adequate internal transportation such as trolleys. In addition, there is a striking difference in the volume of solid B3 medical waste generated between inpatient and non-inpatient facilities. In 2024, Gunungpati Community Health Center generated the highest amount in September at 217.95 kg, while in Sekaran Community Health Center the highest amount was in June at 84.79 kg. Gunungpati Community Health Center produces a higher volume of waste due to its inpatient services and diverse health programs. These findings highlight the need for infrastructure strengthening, staff training, and regular evaluation to support the safe and sustainable management of hazardous solid medical waste at the primary healthcare level.
