Abstract

The purpose of the present research was to analyze the use of English speech acts functions by the staff of home stay at Belumbang Tourism Village in Tabanan Bali. The research method applied was descriptive qualitative approach which was largely relied on the philosophy of phenomenology approach. The types of data were the qualitative ones which were in the forms of words, phrases, expressions, and sentences on the use of English speech functions. The sources of data were primary data which were directly collected from the respondents and the key informant, and the secondary data which were collected from the existing data provided by the second party. The methods used for data collection were observation, questionnaires, and interview methods. The methods for data analysis were descriptive and qualitative by using the theory of speech acts functions proposed by Searle (1983). The population of the research was 30 people. The sampling technique applied was non-probability sampling.  The findings of the research were the result and the discussion showed that those 5 speech act functions, such as: assertive, directives, expressive, commissive, and declarative were used.

Abstract

This study uses a qualitative descriptive method.This study aims to analyze the types and reasons for using code switching in the Basboi song entitled Happy Birthday. The data source for this study was taken from the lyrics of the happy birthday song by Basboi. In analyzing the types of code switching, researchers use the theory of Romaine, namely inter-sentential switching, intra-sentential switching and tagswitching. After doing the analysis, there are 2 types of code switching found in this study, namely inter-sentential switching of 2 data, and intra-sentential switching of 9 data. In this research, there was only one reason for using code switching which was found, namely repetition of 1 data.

Abstract

Social Carrying Capacity is the response or reaction of the local community to the development of tourism in an area. Tanjung Benoa is a very popular tourist attraction among tourists who like water sports activities. However, the Covid-19 pandemic or better known as the Corona Virus is currently sweeping the world. The tourism industry is an industry that has been greatly affected by this pandemic. Declining tourist visits can have an impact on a destination, both in economic, socio-cultural, and environmental aspects. This study aims to determine whether the social carrying capacity at Tanjung Benoa Tourist Attraction has been exceeded or not. The data in this study were collected through questionnaires in six neighborhoods in Tanjung Benoa. Questionnaires were distributed to 100 respondents with a total of 35 indicators. The sampling technique in this study used Probability Sampling with the type of Proportionate Stratified Random Sampling which was then analyzed using descriptive statistics. Based on the research results, it is known that the social carrying capacity at Tanjung Benoa Tourist Attraction has not been exceeded. Local people still want tourism activities in Tanjung Benoa

Abstract

The variety of potential beach tourism attractions in Padangbai village requires the stakeholders to determine the beach attraction which needed as the priority that can be done in advance and that can be done effectively and efficiently. The objectives of this research first was to know the existing condition of a beach tourist attraction in Padangbai village which is a Bias Tugel Beach and Blue Lagoon Beach. To be able to determine the development priority of a beach tourism attraction which can be seen from 6A components of tourism development, includes attraction, accessibility, amenities, ancillary, activities, and available packages. Researchers used data collection techniques in the form of observations and interviews with informants. The informant determination technique uses using purposive sampling technique with 10 informants which consist of academics, business, community, government, and media, as the stakeholders in accordance pentahelix concept. The data analysis technique used in this research was qualitative descriptive which was analyzed by AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) method. The result of this research indicates that Bias Tugel Beach is a priority to develop. The determination of Bias Tugel Beach as a priority tourist attraction has an average value of each criterion from the highest to the lowest value, such as a tourist attraction of 26.5%, tourist activity criteria of 22.9%, additional service criteria of 18.5%, accessibility criteria by 14.7%, the criteria for amenities by 9.9% and the criteria for the availability of tour packages by 7.6%. Nevertheless, there are accessibilities and amenities criteria that need to be improved by the management based on tourism development 6A components..
