Abstract

PT. Pupuk Sriwidjaja  is a company that produces urea (CON2H4) and ammonia (NH3) fertilizier. Both products are marketed for domestic and foreign (export) consumption. Especially for urea fertilizier, the sale is through two distribution channels, namely the subsidized agriculture sector and the commercial sector (both domestic and foreign). While ammonia fertilizer is marketed to the commercial sector (both domestic and foreign). PT. Pupuk Sriwidjaja experienced fluctuating sales conditions due to a decrease and growth in sales volume. As for the purpose of the problem, to find out how much percentage (%) of growth or decrease in sales of urea and ammonia fertilizers, find out the marketing development program strategy of PT Pupuk Sriwidjaja. The results showed that, based on the analysis of sales data of PT. Pupuk Sriwidjaja Palembang in 2013-2017, it can be seen that the sales growth of urea fertilizer experienced fluctuating conditions with a growth of 6.08% and ammonia sales experienced a five-year sales growth of 27.79%.

Abstract

Soffell is a mosquito repellent product in the form of lotions and sprays. Soffell can be used to protect the body from mosquito bites with an effective protection of up to 8 hours because it contains DEET in it. Determination of the level of DEET active substances in Soffell Spray products used the gas chromatography method. Gas chromatography is a method of separating a mixture into its constituent components based on the interaction of the stationary phase and the mobile phase. The stationary phase used is the dimethyl polysiloxane column while the mobile phase is N2 gas. N2 gas used because it is inert (does not react with analytes) is also easily obtained and inexpensive. In this gas chromatography, the column used is the RTX-1 column which contains dimethyl polysiloxane. The injection system used is a split injector for samples that have high concentrations. The incoming sample volume is only what is needed while the remainder is discarded. The detector used is FID (Flame Ionization Detector) so it requires H2 gas as a combustion gas and O2 as an oxidizer to produce a flame. DEET active substances levels obtained from Soffell Spray products are Soffell Spray Geranium 12.815 %, 12.518 %, 12.543 % and Floral Spray 11.900 %, 12.043 %, 12.067 % respectively. The analysis results obtained from Soffell Spray products are still included in the standard company specifications are for Soffell Geranium Flowers 11.97-13.78 % and Floral Spray 11.05-12.72 %.

Abstract

Analysis of free chlorine for ten days of indirect oleo chemical cooling water sample has been carried out. Analysis of free chlorine using a colorimetric instrument based on the occurrence of color after using DPD powder. The concentration level of the color of the sample on the colorimeter showed the level of chlorine. The results of research conducted for 10 days showed that the free chlorine content in indirect cooling water samples were 0.28-0.42 ppm. Chlorine levels obtained in accordance with the recommended quality standard 0.3-0.5 ppm.

Abstract

The development of titania photocatalytic reactors has been carried out as a solution for processing peat water into clean water that meets the Clean Water Quality Standard requirements. In this study the titania photocatalytic reactor will be used to degrade heavy metals iron (Fe) and manganese (Mn) in industrial wastewater in Batam City. For the initial stage, the wastewater to be degraded is wastewater from six industries, each of which has treated stage. Iron and manganese levels in waste water outlets are determined by the Inductively Coupled Plasma-Atomic Emission Spectroscopy (ICP-AES) device. The results of the analysis found iron and manganese content of 0.0017 ppm and 0.0023 ppm respectively. These results indicate that the processing of industrial waste in each company has been able to eliminate the content of heavy metals iron and manganese and has fulfilled the Regulation of the Minister of Environment No. 5 of 2014 Appendix 47. APHA 3120 B Method: 2012. However, these results have not optimally disappeared heavy metals and besides that the waste treatment process still leaves new waste and uses a lot of chemicals. This research will be continued to remove heavy metals in the industrial wastes with the titania photocatalytic reactor.

Abstract

Kemampuan minyak atsiri dari batang Amomum apiculatum sebagai insektisida alami telah diuji terhadap lalat Drosophila melanogaster. Uji yang dilakukan meliputi meliputi uji mortalitas, antifeedant dan repelan. Konsentrasi minyak atsiri untuk pengujian berturut-turut adalah 0; 0.1; 0.5; 1 %. Didapatkan persentase mortalitas tertinggi pada hari kelima yaitu 0; 0; 17.80; 35.53 %. Persentase antifeedant berturut-turut berdasarkan konsentrasi adalah 93.81; 94.07; 95.29; 96.61 %. Sedangkan persentase repelan berturut-turut adalah 4.46; 40; 60; 73.33 %. Minyak atsiri batang Amomum apiculatum juga menghambat proses regenerasi lalat, dibuktikan dengan adanya telur dan pupa pada kontrol pada hari ke-5, dan sebaliknya pada media dengan minyak atsiri sehingga dapat dari penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan minyak atsiri batang Amomum apiculatum berpotensi sebagai insektisida alami.

Abstract

The photocatalytic of Titania is an alternative solution for treating peat water into clean water that corresponding to the quality standard of clean water. A photocatalytic reactor of Titania has been developed to obtain more optimum peat water treatment efficiency. The optimum composition of the titania suspension to be coated into the titania film on the surface of the photocatalytic reactor is on the composition of titania and the starch in water with the ratio of (4: 1: 25) wt.%, and durability enhanced by adding the ACR dispersant. Titania film obtained by screen printing coating technique. The batch system of photocatalytic reactor with a 1 L / 6 hour reactor capacity has been developed into a continuous photocatalytic solar reactor with a fivefold capacity of batch system. The reactor will be developed again into a peat water treatment technology of household-scale industry that can produce 100 L of clean water from peat water for six hours at a cost of less than Rp 1000, -.

Abstract

One of the factors that affect the quality of concentrated latex is pH. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of pH on the value of Volatile Fatty Acid (VFA) of concentrated latex. The method used is titration using Ba(OH)2 as the titrant and BTB as an indicator. The results showed that the pH of the initial concentrated latex pH 10 the VFA value was 0.0158%. Then on decreasing the pH at pH 9.50 the VFA value was 0.0219%, at pH 9 the VFA value was 0.0328% and at pH 8.5 the VFA value was 0.0522%. However, at pH 10.5 which the pH was increased from the initial conditions, the VFA value was 0.0129%. This shows that the lower the pH, the value of the Volatile Fatty Acid of concentrated latex increases, while if the pH is increased, the value of the Volatile Fatty Acid of concentrated latex decreases. A good pH condition for concentrated latex according to the American Society for Testing and Materials Standard (ASTM D.1076. Y80) with a maximum standard of 0.030% is at pH 9.5 - 10.5.

Abstract

β-carotenes is the most active form of provitamin A. β-carotenes has similar properties to vitamin A, which are sensitive to oxygen, light, and heat. Oxidation of β-carotenes is a major cause of reducing levels of β-carotenes in food. The samples used in this study are CPO (Crude Palm Oil), BPO (Bleached Palm Oil), RBDPO (Refined Bleached Deodorized Palm Oil), and RBD Olein (Refined Bleached Deodorized Olein) in the processing of CPO into bulk cooking oil and packaged cooking oil. The method used is spectrophotometry. This research was conducted to test the content of β-carotenes in each sample during the processing. The difference between bulk cooking oil and packaged cooking oil depend on the raw material, processing time, and supporting material. The stages of the processing of bulk cooking oil and packaging consist of bleaching, deodorizing, and fractionation. β-carotenes levels in bulk CPO was found to be between 432.1156-434.9257 ppm, and packaging CPO ranged between 490.0259-491.9635 ppm. After fractionation,  it is obtained in bulk RBD Olein 5.4714-6.8757 ppm and packaged RBD olein 15.3098-16.8184 ppm. Thus, reduced content of β-carotenes during the processing of bulk and packaged cooking oil its about 98.5558% and 96.7456%.

Abstract

Antibiotic is a biochemistry compound that came from an organism whereas in small dose can be used to prevent the other organism growth and also even can kill them.  For that aim, were needed an Accuration of active material composition in the antibiotic in order it can work as expectation.  To make sure of the actives material composition would be required an analysis method.  Before the method is using as a standard method, it must be done a validation so that will give an accurate and precise result.  Validation process involved some parameters which  were linearity, precision, accuration, and limit detection with each receiving conditions were determination coefficient for linearity > 0.9970,  % SD < 2%, for  precision  and recovery range was  97-103%.  The result of these research were:  determination coefficient of linearity (r2) = 0,9998, % RSD for precision of Trimethoprim  was o,4% and 0,32 % for Sulfadiazine Sodium, precision = 0,049 % RSD for Trimethoprim and 0,32 % for Sulfadiazine Sodium, accuration= 98,14 % Recovery for Trimethoprim and 98,69% for Sulfadiazine Sodium, Limit detection= 0,5020 for Trimethoprim and 0,0501 for Sulfadiazine Sodium. In sort we can say that this method can be used as routine analysis method.

Abstract

The research about “Acid-Base Indicator Manufacturing from Avocado’s Peel” had done. The research aims to make acid-base indicator from avocado’s peel in paper form as chemistry’s learning media. Polytechnic ATI Padang was the place that the research held with avocado’s peel as the sample matter.  The genre of the research was descriptive with qualitative approaching. It had two phases which was manufacturing and testing of paper indicator from avocado’s peel. Data was collected by acid-base indicator from fruit’s peel’s paper test observation. Data analysis showed interval up to 30 days for avocado’s peel based paper indicator to express a different color in acid, base, and neutral solution. The Conclusion of the research was acid-base indicator from avocado’s peel paper was stable and could be used as acid-base indicator and learning media.
