Abstract

Suatu produksi minyak sawit dapat dikatakan memiliki efisiensi tinggi jika persentase kehilangan minyak (oil losses rendah. Kendati demikian, persentase kehilangan (oil losses) ini masih belum bisa ditiadakan, karena sangat sulit untuk mencegah terjadinya kehilangan minyak tersebut. Banyak faktor yang mempengaruhi oil losses pada proses pengolahan tandan buah segar (TBS) menjadi CPO. Faktor yang paling menentukan adalah tekanan pada stasiun pengepresan (screw press) dan buah yang tidak masak. Penggunaan tekanan press yang kecil akan menghasilkan kadar oil losses yang besar, sedangkan penggunaan tekanan prees yang besar akan menghasilkan tingginya biji kelapa sawit yang pecah pada stasiun press. Kehilangan minyak dapat diketahui dengan metode ekstraksi dan bahan pelarutnya n-heksan yang dilakukan di laboratorium PT. Bintara tani nusantara,Tbk. Dari tujuh kali percobaan diperoleh persen kehilangan minyak pada pada cake press di stasiun press yaitu 6,57%, 6,59%, 6,63%, 7,29%, 7,56%, 8,56% dan 8,89%. Standar persen kehilangan minyak di pabrik kelapa sawit < 8%. Dari data yang ada maka lima data memenuhi standar yaitu 6,57%, 6,59%, 6,63%, 7,29%, 7,56%, sedangkan dua data tidak memenuhi standar persen kehilangan minyak, yaitu 8,56% dan 8,89%. Abstract

The use of starch in the industry is very wide, both in the field of food and non-food. Therefore, to expand its application, starch needs to be modified in the form of starch nanoparticles. Nanoparticle technology will improve starch characteristics as a result; it has low suspension viscosity at relatively high concentrations, and has high binding strength due to a large active surface area. In general, there are three ways of making nanoparticle starch, namely acid or enzymatic hydrolysis, regeneration (precipitation) and mechanical treatment. The purpose of this study was to conduct a journal review relating to the preparation method of starch nanoparticles and their application in the development of bioplastic composites. The development of bioplastics is currently constrained by the results of bioplastic characteristics; both the physical and mechanical properties produced are still low. Nanoparticle technology developed to improve the characteristics with the addition of nano-sized material (nanoparticles) into bioplastic formulas that produce nanocomposites. The problem faced in the development of nanoparticle starch is that the preparation method used is not ready for commercial production. The resulting yield is still low and the process steps are too long. One way to overcome this is to adapt the nanoparticle starch preparation method that is more efficient for the production scale.

Abstract

Fluocinolone Acetonide Cream is a topical medication used to treat itching, redness, dry skin, crusting, inflammation, and discomfort of various skin conditions. This research was conducted to determine the levels of the active substance contained in Fluocinolone Acetonide Cream. Testing the levels of active substances is carried out to ensure the levels of active substances are in accordance with predetermined requirements. The side effect of the active substance is that if the drug has excess levels of the active substance it will endanger the drug user and if there is a deficiency of the active substance, the drug will not have any reaction. at a wavelength of 200-300 nm and the maximum wavelength of the Fluocinolone Acetonide Cream test is 238. The test results for determining the levels of active substances in the sample are 98.99% and 99.14% where the specifications used are between 90% - 110%. These results indicate that the sample levels fall within the specifications established by Pharmacopoeia edition I and II 2009.

Abstract

In 2018, the Ministry of Industry initiate the Making Indonesia 4.0 program in response to rapidly increasing of information technology and the internet growth. This initiative followed by the Regulation of the Minister of Industry No. 1532 about the Industri 4.0 curricula. Polytechnic ATI Padang as a Vocational College of the Ministry of Industry that the job and function is to produce skilled labour that able to prepare these challenges in the term of appropriate curricula and lectures book. This paper tries to analyze the existing condition of the Polytechnic ATI Padang and the technical implementation of lectures in accordance with the Curriculum 4.0 policy implemented by the government. The proposed model is a reviewed of 9 (nine) pillars of technology in Industry 4.0 which combined to the academic document and the manufacturing cycle model in industrial business processes.

Abstract

Penelitian tentang penambahan kunyit terhadap masa simpan nugget jagung bertujuan untuk meminimalkan mikroba perusak nugget jagung dengan menambahkan kunyit giling dan memperpanjang masa simpan olahan nugget jagung pada beberapa kondisi penyimpanan. Metode dalam penentuan masa simpan nugget jagung adalah Metode Accelerated Shelf Life Test/ASLT dengan persamaan Arhenius, dimana nugget jagung yang telah ditambahkan kunyit giling segar dengan berbagai konsentrasi (0%, 1%, 2%, 3% dan 4%) disimpan pada tiga tingkat suhu yang berbeda, yaitu suhu -15oC, -5oC dan 5oC. Pengamatan terhadap nugget jagung adalah masa simpan dan Total Plate Count. Hasil analisis kerusakan fisik nugget jagung selama penyimpanan dapat diminimalkan dengan penambahan kunyit giling. Hasil analisis Total Plate Count menunjukkan bahwa penyimpanan Nugget Jagung pada suhu -15oC selama 30 hari mampu menekan pertumbuhan mikroba dari 5,0 x 104 cfu/g (tanpa penambahan kunyit) menjadi 2,4 x 104 cfu/g (penambahan kunyit 4 %). Penambahan 4 % kunyit pada suhu -15oC memiliki umur simpan terlama yaitu 68 hari atau 2 bulan 8 hari.

Abstract

PT X Padang is one of the factories that processes CPO (Crude Palm Oil) into Olein commonly called cooking oil. The process of making olein is done through several stages of the process such as degumming, bleaching, filtration, deodorization and fractionation. The purpose of the analysis carried out is to analyze how much the quality deviation of RBDPO is Free Fatty Acid (FFA), color and Iodin Value by using the mean chart control chart (X) and control chart range (R), identifying the causes of quality problems (deviations) RBDPO with a causal diagram (fishbone), provides improvement proposals to improve the quality of RBDPO that occurred at PT. X Padang. The results of processing are the number of samples outside the control limit for FFA levels of 6 samples with a percentage of 37.5%, color that is 10 samples with a percentage of 62.5%, and Iodin Value which is 0 samples. The most dominant causes when viewed with fishbone diagrams are human, machine and material factors. From the results of the analysis it can be concluded that RBDPO products at PT X still have data that is beyond the control limits. The main causes are influenced by human, machine and material factors, so prevention must be done by examining the problems that occur and taking corrective actions.

Abstract

PT Bukit Muria Jaya is a company engaged in the manufacture of cigarette paper which has good quality paper, has a white color and low tear strength. The process of making cigarette paper carried out in PT Bukit Muria Jaya Laboratory has several stages of the process starting from taking raw materials in PM (paper machine) 1, mixing with starch, printing process, pressing process, and drying process. At the time of making cigarette paper using pulp of the NBKP and LBKP types. The shed paper that is made will be tested for the specified physical parameters such as grammature, tensile strength and permeability. In this research, cigarette paper will be made without using a CaCO3 filler with NBKP: LBKP variations are 35: 65, 45: 55, 55: 45, 65: 35, 75: 25, 85: 15, 95: 5%. The results showed that all variables used did not meet the desired physical properties of cigarette paper.

Abstract

Urea in water is not very good for the environment and also living things because it can cause odor and can damage body tissues. This study aims to verify the test method of determining urea levels in wastewater with p-Dimethylamino benzaldehyde reagent using UV-Vis Spectrophotometer. The method used in this study is Spectrophotometry. In this research, several verification parameters will be carried out, namely precision, accuracy, linearity and working range, and detection limits and quantization limits. Based on testing these parameters, the CV (Coefficient Variation) value meets the requirements for precision acceptance, namely CV ≤ CV Horwitz. Accuracy results at spike concentrations were 10%, 20%, 30%, 40% and 50%, respectively 102,608%, 106,540%, 101,713%, 106,409%  and 101,171%. The results of the working range and linearity, R2 = 0.9994. Detection limit 0.0089 and quantization limit 0.0297. Based on the results obtained from the verification, the test method of urea content in water meets the requirements and can be used to determine the level of urea in effluent.

Abstract

A lot of limestone encountered in Indonesia. Most of the limestone reserves in Indonesia are in West Sumatra. Limestone utilization in West Sumatra is currently only limited as the adhesive mortar or bleach on the walls, so that the low economic value. Therefore, the need for efforts to increase the value added products of limestone, which is to process it into products that are more efficient in the industry such as precipitate calcium carbonate (PCC) which has a high economic value. PCC is a limestone that has been processed in such a way so as to form small particles that homogeny and it’s easy to set up. Currently PCC can be synthesized via three methods, namely the method of Solvay, caustic soda, and carbonation. In this study, the method used is the manufacture of PCC carbonation method, i.e. by passing carbon dioxide gas into a suspension. PCC quality tested by several parameters, purity of CaO 37.75 %, Fe3 + impurity levels of 6.72 ppm and a water content of 2.29 %.

Abstract

Listening merupakan skill pertama yang dimiliki seseorang dalam berbahasa. Listening juga merupakan salah satu skill yang diujikan dalam mata kuliah Bahasa Inggris. Banyak mahasiswa Jurusan MLIA Politeknik ATI Padang mengalami kesulitan dalam mengerjakan soal ujian akhir praktikum listening Bahasa Inggris. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menemukan tingkat kesulitan soal ujian akhir praktikum Bahasa Inggris agar dapat dijadikan input untuk perbaikan pengajaran materi kuliah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan dari 33 buah soal ujian terdapat 15 buah soal yang berada pada rentang 0,76-1,00 dan termasuk soal dengan kategori mudah, 6 buah soal berada pada rentang 0,26-0,75 dan termasuk ke dalam soal dengan kategori sedang, dan 12 soal merupakan soal dengan kategori sulit yang berada pada rentang 0,00-0,25. Secara umum dapat disimpulkan bahwa soal ujian akhir semester praktikum listening jurusan Manajemen Logistik Industri Agro mempunyai tingkat kesulitan 0,53 dan berada pada rentang 0,26-0,75 sehingga termasuk soal dengan kategori sedang
