Mestaka: Jurnal Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat diterbitkan pada tahun 2022 oleh CV. Pakis Journal. Abstract

Improving tax education is urgently needed to enable students to manage their personal finances wisely and understand the importance of taxes in community development. This program aims to increase tax compliance and foster a culture of tax awareness as a means of strengthening soft skills in students in grades 1, 2, and 3 of the Al-Mubarak Islamic Boarding School (Islamic Senior High School) in Tobarakka, Wajo. A sound understanding of financial literacy is crucial for preparing students to manage their personal finances and understand the significance of taxes in national development. Through a learning program involving various methods and simulations, students are encouraged to understand basic financial concepts and tax obligations. This program is expected to enhance students' understanding of the importance of intelligent financial management and social responsibility through tax payments. The results of this community service activity confirm the importance of improving education to support the development of students' soft skills, which in turn will help them become more responsible and competitive individuals in the future.

Abstract

Technology has become an important aspect of the business world as it is able to expand market reach, improve efficiency, and enhance competitiveness. Currently, many Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) have adopted technology to expand their businesses and promote their products. However, Warung Berkah has not yet adopted technology in its operations. Warung Berkah has been operating for nearly three years and has successfully provided a variety of culinary products to customers; nevertheless, despite its relatively long establishment, this MSME has not developed optimally. By developing social media accounts and implementing online ordering services, the Warung Berkah MSME is expected to grow further. The implementation process of this activity was carried out through interviews, observations, and documentation, and the results obtained after implementing the developed platforms indicate fairly positive outcomes, as evidenced by increased interaction on Warung Berkah’s social media pages. The expected impact of this activity is that the Warung Berkah MSME will continue to utilize digital-based promotional media through social media accounts and consistently make use of online ordering services.

Abstract

This Community Engagement Program was conducted at PT Salam Jaya Lestari, focusing on optimizing inventory planning and procurement processes to improve the company’s distribution efficiency. The topic was selected based on the company’s operational challenges, including fluctuations in customer demand, the risk of stock discrepancies, delivery delays, and procurement document management that had not yet been optimally organized. The objective of this program was to improve the accuracy of inventory planning, enhance procurement processes, and support smoother distribution through workflow improvements within the Planner & Buyer Division. The implementation method involved direct observation and active participation in daily work activities, including stock checking, preparation and verification of Purchase Orders, procurement document management, and coordination with suppliers and logistics partners. The results show improved efficiency in stock-checking processes, more structured procurement activities, and a reduced risk of stock discrepancies and distribution delays. The program outcomes have helped the company manage inventory and procurement processes in a more structured and efficient manner.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play a vital role in the national economy; however, many MSMEs still lack structured financial recording systems. Sozo Salon MSME in Batam City is a service-based business that previously did not prepare systematic income statements, making it difficult for business owners to assess financial performance and make informed decisions. This community service activity aims to improve financial transparency and decision-making quality through the implementation of digital financial reporting using the Zenwel Biz application. The methods employed include observation, interviews, digital financial recording system design, implementation assistance, and monitoring and evaluation. The results indicate that the partner is able to record revenue and expense transactions digitally and generate automatic periodic income statements. The outputs include the implementation of a digital financial recording system, automated income statements, and a system user guide. Overall, this activity enhances financial management understanding, business transparency, and supports more structured and sustainable financial decision-making for MSMEs.

Abstract

Micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), particularly those operating in the laundry service sector, are currently facing increasingly intense competition as well as demands to adapt to the rapid development of digital technology. Laundry Barokah, as one of the MSMEs in Batam City, still experiences several limitations, especially in terms of brand identity, digital promotional activities, and the use of digital payment systems. This study aims to help improve the operational efficiency and business competitiveness of Laundry Barokah through the utilization of digital technology. The methods employed include interviews and direct observation to gain an in-depth understanding of the partner’s conditions and challenges. Based on the analysis results, several implementations were carried out, including the development of a business logo as a visual identity, promotion through Instagram as a digital marketing medium, and the implementation of a digital payment system using QRIS. The results indicate an improvement in business visibility, as reflected by increased reach and interaction on the Instagram account, the emergence of positive customer reviews, and enhanced convenience and efficiency of transactions through non-cash payments. Overall, the utilization of digital technology has proven to have a positive impact on improving operational efficiency, service quality, and the competitiveness of Laundry Barokah.

Abstract

The Free Nutritious Meals Program is a social initiative managed by micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Punggur Besar Village to support the nutritional needs of schoolchildren. However, program managers face challenges in increasing visibility, transparency, and community engagement due to limited digital technology capabilities. This activity aims to empower program managers through AI-based digital marketing training that is easily accessible and relevant to their social context. The training was conducted offline at the Punggur Besar Village Office using participatory learning methods and hands-on practice using participants' own devices. Twenty program managers participated in the entire activity. All participants successfully created program-specific social media accounts, produced educational content, and documented activities with the help of AI tools. Eighty percent of participants were able to independently develop content narratives, and seventy-two percent began utilizing basic analytics to understand community responses to their content. The main benefits gained were increased digital communication capacity, strengthened program accountability, and increased confidence in interacting with the public online. This activity demonstrated that the use of AI in digital marketing can be adapted inclusively to strengthen community-based social programs, with the active involvement of managers as key actors in digital transformation at the village level.

Abstract

In accordance with Government Regulation No. 43 of 2014, Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) play a crucial role in promoting village economic independence through community involvement and capital support from Village Funds. However, BUMDes across the country still face a number of challenges in implementing sharia-compliant financial management, including a lack of human resource knowledge, a lack of technical support, and poor implementation of sharia principles in financial procedures. The Sriwijaya Cipta Karya BUMDes in Sadar Sriwijaya Village, which still uses a traditional financial management system, is also affected by this situation. Through service learning techniques, this Community Service (PKM) project aims to improve the understanding and capabilities of BUMDes managers in implementing sharia-compliant financial management. Using a training approach, lectures, case studies, and practical experience in creating Islamic financial journals and reports, the implementation process included preparation, training/implementation, and evaluation. The results of the activity demonstrated significant improvements in participants' understanding of Islamic accounting and economic principles, the development of Islamic financial Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and the capacity of administrators to create financial reports and journals in accordance with Islamic principles. Furthermore, this effort raised public awareness of the importance of sustainable, fair, and halal business practices. Therefore, it is hoped that this mentoring will improve the professional and sustainable financial governance of Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) and serve as a model for Sharia-based village economic management.

Abstract

The use of digital marketing through online marketplaces has become increasingly important for businesses to introduce products and build brand awareness. PT. Ilock Nusantara Indonesia is a company engaged in home security products; however, the utilization of the Shopee marketplace as a digital marketing medium had not been fully optimized. This practical work activity was conducted to assist the company in implementing digital marketing strategies through a marketplace as an initial effort to enhance brand awareness. The methods applied included observation and interviews with the company, product uploading, catalog arrangement, product description development, and product categorization based on type. The results indicate that the Shopee store of PT. Ilock Nusantara Indonesia has become more organized and informative, with a total of 44 products successfully uploaded. Although no sales had occurred at the time of reporting, the store and products were already accessible through the marketplace search feature. This reflects an improvement in product visibility and serves as an initial step in building the company’s digital brand awareness.

Abstract

The community service mentoring program aims to improve the skills of educators who teach early childhood. Their focus is on producing picture storybooks that serve as innovative and instructive learning tools, while still considering the unique characteristics of young children. These picture storybooks play a crucial role in fostering growth in areas such as language, thinking, social skills, emotional intelligence, and fostering an interest in reading in children from an early age. This community service program is implemented using a training approach. This includes delivering information, conducting discussions, providing guidance, and offering opportunities for practical application. The training covers various elements of storytelling, including the goals and methods for developing and sharing stories in educational settings. The teachers participating in the mentoring program are mentors from three early childhood education schools. These teachers faced challenges in creating learning resources that incorporate storytelling techniques. The results of the activity showed that the teachers improved their understanding and skills in creating picture storybooks that are relevant and tailored to children's needs. Furthermore, the training also motivated educators to adopt a more creative mindset in producing their own learning materials. With this mentoring, it is hoped that this community service project will have a positive impact on improving the standards of early childhood education and fostering a strong dedication to literacy from an early age.

Abstract

Permata Laundry is a laundry service micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) located in Batam City that faces increasing business competition due to the rapid growth of similar service providers. One of the main challenges encountered is the limited utilization of digital media for promotion and service delivery, which affects market reach and business visibility. This Community Service Program (PKM) aims to develop a digital media-based promotional strategy to enhance brand awareness, promotional effectiveness, and service efficiency at Permata Laundry. The method applied in this activity involves primary data collection through interviews and direct observation of business operations. Based on the analysis results, several outputs were designed and implemented, including the creation and optimization of a Google Maps business profile, the management of Instagram and TikTok social media accounts as promotional tools, and the implementation of an online ordering system using Google Forms integrated with QR Codes. The results indicate that the application of digital marketing strategies improves access to business information, customer interaction, and service efficiency. Therefore, digital-based promotional development has a positive impact on strengthening competitiveness and ensuring the sustainability of Permata Laundry in the digital era.
