Abstract

This research aims to design a model framework strategy planning an efficient and effective for the development of tourism sector in the province of Riau Islands, given the state of the province of Riau Islands has various advantages of geographical and geopolitical turns out to date have not been optimal in the development of tourism when seen from the results of their achievements.The research method used is a qualitative study using literature study approach on the articles published by various research journals that are directly related to the condition of tourism in Riau Islands Province, as well as articles related to strategic planning for the tourism sector in different countries.The results of this study to get a model framework beginning, starting from the perception of all stakeholders in tourism (tourists, communities, investors/companies and governments) for the development of tourism of the future, which will then be combined method RBV until finally found a strategy planning efficient and effective in the development sector Riau Islands tourism concept with through practitioner, practical and praxis, and FGD.Keywords: Framework, strategic planning, RBV, FGD

Abstract

Program of community service aims to improve the capabilities of Kayu Manis Batam SMEs in managing financial management through the making of SOPs conducted in April-August 2019. Methods in this activity include observation, FGD, program design and trial & error, and implementation. The results of the program activities have resulted in five SOPs in the financial sector that have been well implemented by SMEs.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the variables that are thought to strongly influence the management of savings management on the millennial generation in Batam City. Batam City is an industrial and trade city whose geographical location is in direct line with Singapore and Malaysia, offering a lot of very attractive goods and services, especially for millennials. The variables used are self-control, attitude toward saving, financial literacy, parental socialization, and peer influence on saving behavior. The methodology in this study uses primary data through the distribution of questionnaires to 267 millennial respondents, and processing the data using the SPSS program version 21.0, the results show that the attitude toward saving, financial literacy, parental socialization variables have a significant effect on the saving behavior variable, but the variable self-control, and peer influence do not have a significant influence on saving behavior in the millennial generation of Batam City.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan temuan-temuan baru tentang sikap dan perilaku investor dalam berinvestasi di Kota Batam. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah berupa kajian strategi pengembangan investasi di Kota Batam sebagai daerah Free Trade Zone (FTZ). Metode penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif analisis dengan teknik Fishbein untuk menggambarkan respon kognitif, afektif dan perilaku seorang investor dengan tindakannya dalam berinvestasi. Penentuan jumlah sampel menggunakan teknik purposive sampling yang ditujukan kepada 105 investor secara proporsional (proportional sampling) di berbagai bidang kegiatan ekonomi. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa nilai sikap investor masuk ke dalam kategori mendekati agak baik, dan nilai perilaku investor adalah positif. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa secara umum meskipun nilainya masih rendah, Kota Batam memiliki harapan besar untuk dijadikan tempat investasi yang menarik, dan memungkinkan investasi berulang-ulang. Dalam hal ini pemerintah daerah lebih fokus pada hal-hal berikut: penentuan tingkat UMK, transparansi pada biaya bongkar muat yang harus dikeluarkan di pelabuhan, peningkatan kualitas pelayanan dari petugas pemerintah, efisiensi biaya penyediaan energi, dan memberikan kepastian hukum dalam berinvestasi. Kata Kunci: PMA, PMDN, Investasi, Teknik Fishbein This research aimed to get new insights about attitudes and behaviors of investors in investing at Batam City. The result of this research was a strategy to develop the investment at Batam City as a Free Trade Zone (FTZ) area. The method used was descriptive analysis research with Fishbein technic to describe the cognitive response, affective response, and the behaviors of an investor in doing investment. The number of samples was determined using purposive sampling method on 105 investors at various fields of economic activities proportionally (proportional sampling). The analysis showed that the grade of the investors’ behaviors was in the category of nearly quite good, whereas the grade of investors’ attitudes was positive. This showed that even though the great was still low, in general Batam City had a big opportunity to be an interesting investment area and allowed a continuous investment. In this case, local government had to give more focus on the following things: the determination of minimum wage, transparency of loading and unloading costs at the harbors, government officers service quality development, energy sources cost efficiency, and legal security in doing investment. Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to examine the impact of CEO Education on Firm Performance. The sample covers 180 observations from IDX LQ45 listed on Indonesia Stock Exchange for period 2017 until 2020. The CEO Education is defined by the field of study in economic, management, business, or accounting. Firm Performance is measured by Tobin’s Q from market based perspective. Board characteristics and Stock Returns are used as control variables in this paper. The result shows that there’s a relationship between CEO Education and Firm Performance. CEO with economic, management, business, or accounting background have a positive and significant impacts on Firm Performance. The result becomes stronger with additional test of CEO Education measured by the level and quality of education on Firm Performance, supporting that CEO Education does enchance the Firm Performance.

Abstract

The millennial generation has an important role in the development of online purchasing because it grows at a time when technology has advanced, especially through the use of smartphone applications. This study aims to analyze the effect of utilitarian, hedonic, privacy, andtrust on attitude toward online purchasing, and attitude toward online purchasing on online purchase intention. The research method used is a quantitative approach by distributing questionnaires to the millennial generation in Batam City. Through the SmartPLS application tool, the results show that utilitarian and hedonic have a significant positive effect on attitudes toward online purchasing, while privacy and trust have no significant effect on attitudes toward online purchasing. In addition, attitude toward online purchasing has a significant positive effect on online purchase intention. The results of this study provide recommendations to companies in strategies to increase online sales among millennials

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of profitability, leverage, institutional ownership, managerial ownership, and dividend policy on firm value controlled by firm size. The sample of this study used 170 manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesian Stock Exchange from 2014 to 2018 which were selected using a purposive sampling method. The research method used was multiple linear regression analysis. The program used is the SPSS version 24 program. The results of the study indicate that profitability, institutional ownership, managerial ownership and dividend policy are significantly positive with firm value, leverage is negatively related to firm value. As a control variable, firm size has a significant positive effect on firm value.

Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh dari debit card use, self control, dan future perception terhadap saving behavior melalui cost saving sebagai variabel mediasi pada mahasiswa di Kota Batam. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif, di mana pengambilan data dilakukan secara random sampling dengan membagikan kuesioner kepada 400 responden mahasiswa di berbagai Universitas di Kota Batam dengan syarat para responden aktif menabung setiap bulannya. Dari hasil analisis dan pengolah data menggunakan SmartPLS 3.0 dan SPSS versi 23.0, diperoleh hasil bahwa debit card use, self control, dan future perception mempengaruhi seseorang dalam menyigapi penghematan biaya (cost saving).Kata Kunci: cost saving, debit card use, future perception, saving behavior, self control. AbstractThis study aims to determine the effect of debit card use, self control, and future perception on saving behavior through cost saving as a mediating variable for students in Batam City. This study uses a quantitative method, where data collection is done by random sampling by distributing questionnaires to 400 student respondents at various universities in Batam City with the condition that the respondents actively save every month. From the results of analysis and data processing using SmartPLS 3.0 and SPSS 23.0, the results show that debit card use, self control, and future perception affect a person in responding to cost savings. Keywords: cost saving, debit card use, future perception, saving behavior, self control.
