Abstract

Eighty two women were enrolled in the present study, they are classified into two groups, and the first included 42 females aged 23 – 42 years who had never a normal pregnancy. They had to undergo IVF with a regular 6 month menstrual cycle before applying for an IVF at the Infertility Treatment Center in Sadder City Medical in Najaf, Iraq. The second group included 40 females with age rang 22 – 40, were selected as control, results of the present work were summarized in the below table. Oxytocin and cortisol levels were evaluated in the present work in addition to several oxidants and antioxidant parameters. Results of the study showed significant elevation in the BMI (Mean ± S.D.) at females suffered unknown infertile cause comparison to healthy females and this elevation was directly correlated to pregnancy prevention. Outcomes recorded statistically significant decrease in the oxytocin and SOD Activity (U/dl) in the sera of females who submitted for artificial insemination, while all of cortisol, MDA, NO, and Cp concentration seemed to be higher in the sera of patient’s women than their corresponding in the control group. Results of the study illustrated highly significant correlation between oxytocin and cortisol (r = - 0.735 at p = 0.001), as well as oxytocin and NO (r = - 0.779 at p = 0.001, and between MDA and NO (r = 0.882 at p = 0.001). More than; the study showed there are significant correlation (r = 0.832) between Cortisol with NO, and MDA with SOD Activity (r = -859) at p = 0.005. The study concludes that oxytocin could directly affect in the preventing of normal pregnancy moreover in decrease of the success of the artificial insemination process.    Key words: Oxytocin, Cortisol, Artificial Insemination, Female Infertility, Oxidative Stress, SOD activity, NO, MDA.

Abstract

Cordia myxa a tree belongs to boraginaceae family contained many secondary products like Flavonoids and Alkaloids. So uses as anti - inflammation, and antibacterial .The objective of this research to increase some secondary products from callus extraction by using chemical elicitors, like ZnSo4 and CoCl2 in various concentration, the method of Budhiraja was use to estimate the concentration of secondary products. Results showed that 0.5mg/l from ZnSo4 lead to significant increase compound dihydroxyrobmetin, Rubinin, and Chlorogenic reaching 2.95, 218.44, 60.99, µg/ml respectively. Moreover, had 2.5mg/l of ZnSo4 concentration negative impact on concentration of secondary metabolites, all compound decreased except datiscoside that arrived to highest rates significantly 70.63 µg/ml. While treatment 0.5 mg/l CoCl2 lead to decrease all compounds except hesperdin, which was significantly increase to 71.42 µg/ml, the concluded of this research showed that 0.5mg/l of CoCl2 and 2.5mg/l of Zno4 had negative effect on most  concentration of secondary metabolites.

Abstract

Background: WHO declared that   Zika virus infection as a global public health emergency of international concern. Objectives: To determine the level of knowledge of Health care workers regarding Zika virus in Baghdad city. Subjects and Methods: A descriptive; cross sectional study conducted at 41 randomly selected (multistage sample) hospitals and primary health care centers  in Baghdad city, included 600 health care workers, The data collection continued for the period starting on 11th November-2018 ending on 3th March 3, 2019. Results: The results of demographic data was conducted on health care workers with their mean age (37.8±10.7)  years ranging from (20-66) years and the highest percentage (34.2%) were in the age group (30-39) years and the lowest percentage(3.3) were in the age group (age>60) years, most of studied sample were females (73%) and married (71%),regarding Educational qualification the highest percentage (57%) from College and higher educational level, the lowest percentage from secondary school, the majority of studied sample (60%)  were medical staff and not well informed regarding the association of Zika virus and Guillain-Barre syndrome, the diagnostic test, and management options, There knowledge was mainly gained from Internet, Radio and T.V. Conclusion: This study concluded that the health care workers had fair and acceptable knowledge regarding Zika virus in Baghdad city during the period of study . Recommendation: Co-ordinate educational programs are needed to increase the knowledge level of health care workers about Zika virus and other emerging diseases, these programs can be extended to include the medical students, travelers and pregnant women. Key words:  Zika virus, Knowledge, Health care workers, Baghdad city.

Abstract

Introduction: Early menarche is one of the major of concern in reproductive health, and affects a large number of women throughout their reproductive life from early adolescent. Early menarche is an important indicator of sexual and reproductive health. The aim of this research was to explain the relation between nutritional status and lifestyle with early menarche case in-adolescent in Surabaya. Method: The research design used was cross sectional. The study population consisted of 232 early-adolescent. The study sample totaled 145 early adolescents based on Purposive sampling with a study period of 2 months. The independent variables were nutritional status and lifestyle, while the dependent variable was early menarch. The data collection method used was a questionnaire sheet filled out by the adolescents and BMI measurement. The statistical analysis used Spearman rho (α ≤ 0, 05). Results: The results showed that nutritional status and lifestyle were positively related to early menarche in early-adolescents (p = 0.000). Discussion: Overweight nutritional status or high BMI and unhealthy lifestyle will tend to experience early menarche. Early menarche can lead to a premature menapouse as well, the risk of heart and bone disorders. Keywords: Nutritional status, Lifestyle, Early menarche, Early-adolescent.

Abstract

One of the alkaloid compounds that were found in the fruit of the Capsicum genus is a Capsaicin, which provides its spicy flavor. Capsaicin extracted directly from fruit and limited use in clinical trials to support the biological activity. In this research, using cationic polymerization were  carried out to the synthesis of drug-spacer polymer to obtain more able as hydrolysis proceeded and more convenient for hydrolysis of attachment of the appropriate pendant drugs, through increases the distance between drugs as a bioactive and backbone of the polymer chains. All prepared drug polymers were characterized by FTIR, UV-visible, TGA and 1HNMR techniques.

Abstract

Abstract Objective: Serratiopeptidase (SRP), an enzyme with great effect in opposing inflammation. Applications of enzyme topically provide advantage of direct entery to the location of action. This study examined the possibility of using topical SRP preparations in the formula of ointments and to assess the topical effect of SRP in facial wound management in rabbits. Material and Method: healthy male rabbits weight,1.25 ± 0.25kg divided into four groups: group one animals received no treatment, group two animals treated with Vaseline only, group three and four were treated by SRP (0.5% and 1%) respectively. Standard incisions were done on submandibular region of all rabbits. Wound healing assessment was determined by histological method. Results: group one and two showed incomplete closure of the wound with poor re-epithelization, while other groups (three and four) demonstrated complete closure of the wound with good re-epithelization. Conclusion: topical application of SRP has ability to improve facial wound healing in rabbits. Keywords: Serratiopeptidase, Facial wound, Rabbit.
