Abstract

This research aims to find out: (1) Improvement in student learning outcomes, (2) Student responses, (3) Find out whether there is an increase in student and teacher activity, after implementing the taching factory learning model on basic electrical concepts material in class XI TBSM SMK Negeri 1 Nisam. The type of research used is Quasi Experimental Design using a non-equivalent control design. The sampling technique used was 40 students consisting of 20 class XI TBSM 2 students as the experimental class and 20 TBSM 1 students as the control class. Data collection instruments use multiple choice questions and questionnaires. The research results show that: (1) There is an increase in student learning outcomes after implementing the teaching factory learning model on basic motorbike electrical concept material with an average n-gain score for the experimental class of 0.70, which is in the medium category, in the control class the average is n -gain score of 0.16 is in the low category. (2) Student response questionnaire after applying the teaching factory learning model to the basic concepts of motorbike electricity in class XI TBSM SMK Negeri 1 Nisam is in the very good category with an average score of 83%. (3) teacher activities are in the good category with an overall average score of 3.42 with a percentage of 85.5%, while student activities are in the good category with an overall average score of 3.33 with a percentage score of 83%.

Abstract

The planning of embankment on soft soil at the Harus River, South Kalimantan, is an area owned by a mining company. This area is planned to be developed into a transportation route, which will later function as an alternative transportation route to accelerate the transportation of the company's mining products. The embankment planning is located directly on soft soil. According to Geotechnical guidelines 1, Pedoman Kimpraswil: Pt T-8-2002-B, soft soil refers to soil that, if not properly identified and investigated, may cause instability and long-term settlement problems that cannot be tolerated because it has low shear strength and high compressibility. Therefore, handling of settlement in soft soil is essential. One alternative for preventing failure in embankment soil is reinforcement. However, in this study, only the height of the embankment is planned without reinforcement. The aim of this study is to determine the safety factor of the embankment on the soil. The analysis of the safety factor is conducted by applying the finite element method with the help of PLAXIS 8.2 software. The data used in this study were obtained from literature and laboratory testing results from SI-ADORADO-GOLDER. Based on the stability calculation of the embankment on soft soil with a height of 1.5 meters per stage and a slope of 1:5, the results obtained from the analysis using the finite element method with PLAXIS 8.2 indicate that the embankment meets the safety factor criterion of 1.4. The slope of the embankment obtained from the PLAXIS 8.2 program is 1.441.

Abstract

Along with the rapid development of construction, especially in terms of efficiency and safety, the use of alternative materials such as steel and precast concrete has become increasingly popular. One important aspect of building construction is the connection between new structures and existing ones. This study aims to compare the methods of connecting new beams to existing columns at the Al-Ihsan General Hospital, using two types of connectors, namely steel connectors and anchor connectors, in the context of efficient and safe connections. The buildings studied are Buildings D, F, and G, which fall into the risk category IV, with a seismic importance factor of 1.50. The method used in this analysis is seismic analysis using the ETABS program for structural modeling and internal force calculations. The analysis evaluates the strength and performance of connections using anchors as the link between new beams and existing columns compared to connections using steel connectors. The analysis results show that the use of anchors in beam-column connections not only provides time efficiency but also exhibits equal or even better strength than the use of steel connectors, making it a more efficient alternative in designing connections for buildings linked to existing structures.

Abstract

In this modern era, transportation is something that is needed by the general public, especially motorized vehicles, as evidenced by the presence of various new motorized vehicle products. However, the use of motorbikes that have been used daily for more than 5 years will experience a significant decrease in performance, this makes motorcycle owners want to improve the performance of the motorbikes they have. One step that can be taken to improve the performance of a motorcycle engine is to optimize the performance of the camshaft, so motorcycle owners do not need to change the cubic centimeter (cc) of their motorcycle but can optimize engine performance. In this study, the addition of camshaft lift variations of 1.5 mm using experimental methods to find the results of the effect of modifying the camshaft lift which will be adjusted to the engine capacity. The results of this study show an increase in torque and power which is quite significant with the highest torque results achieved on the modified camshaft addition of 1.5 mm lift of 8.6 Nm at 8000 rpm and power of 8.5 hp at 8000 rpm, this is due to the higher suction valve opening the greater the volume of air and fuel mixture entering the combustion chamber, resulting in an increase in torque and power.

Abstract

The halal zone is a crucial component in the halal supply chain, ensuring compliance with Sharia standards from the raw material stage. This study examines the implementation of halal zones for micro-scale raw materials by highlighting strategic models and challenges at the local level. The objective of this research is to explore effective strategies for establishing halal zones that cater to the needs of small and medium-sized industries while identifying barriers to their implementation. The study employs a literature review method by analyzing recent literature on the halal supply chain, halal regulations, and relevant case studies. The findings reveal that the successful implementation of halal zones largely depends on the synergy between business actors, local governments, and halal certification bodies. The main challenges include a lack of awareness among business owners regarding halal principles, limited supporting infrastructure, and the complexity of the certification process. The implications of this research emphasize the need for more adaptive policies and community-based support systems to accelerate the adoption of halal zones at the local level. With the right strategy, halal zones can enhance the competitiveness of the halal industry and strengthen consumer trust in Sharia-compliant products.

Abstract

Expert systems are one of the fields of artificial intelligence (AI) that seeks to adopt human knowledge into computers, so that computers can solve problems as experts usually do. One of the problems handled by expert systems is diagnosis in the health sector, such as to diagnose early suspicions of human digestive diseases commonly known as digestive disorders. The expert system in this study was created in the form of a Web-based application. The application of an expert system with the certainty factor method is used to diagnose diseases in the human digestive system. Digestive diseases in this application are limited to diarrhea, gastritis, dysentery, gastric tumors (benign tumors of the stomach), and appendicitis (appendix). The application of an expert system for digestive diseases in humans contains information on diseases, symptoms, and follow-up treatment. This application can be used as an alternative media for diagnosing digestive diseases, and can help users predict the disease they are suffering from based on the symptoms experienced by the user. The expert system created using the certainty factor method, which means this method provides information related to the disease into a possibility, namely happening and not happening and not knowing. The system design used to illustrate the creation of an expert system consists of context diagrams and data flow diagrams and ERD (Entity Relationship Diagram)

Abstract

The purpose of this website development is to assist and provide effectiveness in increasing public awareness regarding animal care practices, as well as to facilitate shelters in presenting information on stray animal adoption. Additionally, this website also facilitates donations that will be used to provide health services to stray animals. This platform also functions as a promotional medium for animal-related events, such as adoption events, education, and socialization of proper animal care. Through these features, it is expected that a better relationship can be created between the community and shelters, and that more stray animals can obtain decent housing and necessary care. Website testing was conducted using the black box testing method, where all functionalities were tested without looking at the internal code. Based on the test results, all systems were declared to function properly according to the expected specifications. The development method for this website uses the SDLC (System Development Life Cycle), which consists of several main stages, namely: the planning stage where the system's objectives and needs are identified, the analysis stage that focuses on user needs, the design stage where the interface and system structure are developed, and the implementation and testing stage, which involves website creation, testing, and improvements based on the test results. By following the SDLC method, the website is expected to run optimally and meet user needs.

Abstract

Changes in the earth's surface temperature can have significant impacts on climate, environment, human health, and ecological systems. Global warming becomes increasingly complex when applied to urban contexts, which often experience urban heat island (UHI) effects. This study aims to analyze the relationship between Local Climate Zone (LCZ) and Land Surface Temperature (LST) in Padang City. This study identifies the distribution pattern of LCZ and relates it to surface temperature variability. The data used to map the local climate zone using samples made using WUDADPT and to determine land surface temperature using Landsat 8 OLI/TIRS C1 Level 1 Satellite Imagery. The results of this study are that the Local Climate Zone (LCZ) in Padang City consists of 13 classifications. The type of building that dominates Padang City is Open Low-rise. Meanwhile, Densee Trees dominate the type of natural land cover in Padang City. Land Surface Temperature (LST) in Padang City is dominated by low temperatures covering an area of ​​43,987.94 Ha. The relationship between LCZ and LST in Padang City has a coefficient of determination of 0.608, which means that the level of relationship between LCZ and LST shows a moderate relationship with the greatest influence occurring in the heavy industry classification with a coefficient of determination of 0.904, which means that the influence of heavy industry on temperature is 90.4% or very strong.

Abstract

This research is entitled "Design and Development of a WEB-Based Hand Tools Sales Information System at PT. XYZ Bekasi City”. The purpose of this research is to find out what the Hand Tools sales information system is like, and the obstacles or constraints faced in the information system, as well as providing solutions to problems with the Hand Tools sales system. Where is the sales process for Hand Tools used at PT. XYZ in Bekasi currently still uses conventional methods, namely by recording in bookkeeping and assisted by Microsoft Office Excel, so that the sales process is not effective and efficient. Very often, making invoices, travel documents, recording goods data, collecting customer data and recording transactions is very inaccurate. From these problems, the idea emerged to create a web-based information system, in which computerized sales management could be carried out. The research methods used are Library Research and Field Research.

Abstract

A grocery store must consider the comfort of people engaging in activities within it, one of which is lighting. Good lighting is an essential part of visual comfort. According to SNI 6197:2020, the standard illumination level for grocery stores is 300 lux. However, initial measurements revealed that during nighttime, the illumination level in the grocery store did not meet the standard, with an average measured illumination level of only 35 lux. Based on this issue, this study aims to determine the appropriate lighting design for grocery stores through analysis using the DIAlux EVO 12.0 software. This research employs the ADDIE research and development model, which comprises five stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The results of the study, following development using the DIAlux EVO 12.0 software, indicate that five lighting points are required in the grocery store using Philips LED Bulb 19-watt Cool Daylight lamps. After implementation, re-measurements showed that the average nighttime illumination level reached 308 lux. Therefore, the research and development on lighting levels in the grocery store can be considered successful, as it significantly improved lighting in areas or conditions with illumination levels below the Indonesian National Standard.
