Abstract

Tomato fruit waste is fruit that has rotted and eventually becomes waste, often causing problems for the environment, so it is not widely used by the community. Tomato fruit waste can be used as a substitute for EM4 in making solid organic fertilizer, because in tomato waste there are microbes that can help the fermentation process. The aim of this research was to determine the effect of tomato waste and EM4 on accelerating the composting of oyster mushroom baglog waste. This type of research is experimental, namely there is 1 control and 2 treatments with 3 repetitions for each treatment so that 9 experimental plots are obtained. The research design used was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD). Data collection techniques use observation and documentation methods, then analyzed using descriptive methods. This was done to obtain fertilizer indicator data. Measurement of fertilizer indicators such as temperature, aroma, texture, color, pH and humidity. This research was carried out for 14 days and obtained data results which stated that tomato fruit waste was effective as a substitute for the role of EM4 in the process of making solid organic fertilizer, because in tomato fruit waste there are bacteria that help the fermentation process. The conclusion of this research is that the use of tomato fruit waste in the process of making organic fertilizer from oyster mushroom baglog waste produces good quality fertilizer as seen from the results of physical tests which show the characteristics, namely blackish brown color, odorless, neutral pH, humidity 60%-80 %, and the texture breaks down. The results of data analysis on the development of teaching materials showed that the validator score for teaching materials experts was an average of 4.6, material experts had an average of 4, and the public readability test average was 4.1, so that teaching materials in the form of brochures are suitable for use.

Abstract

The development of a science cannot be separated from the development of technology, as well as the development of the theory of evolution as a branch of pure biology which studies the existence of changes in the structure of living creatures which until now continues to experience development. This article uses a literature review approach by examining Darwin's theory of evolution based on the philosophy of science in the study of past, present and future time. Darwin's theory is striking in the excellence of its findings, such as the development of empirical data on an organism, even though it has had many controversies in the development of its science. The results of the study and analysis show that Darwin's theory of evolution can still be used today and is compatible with other existing theories.

Abstract

Indonesia as one of the tropical countries in the world with high air humidity triggers the breeding of mosquitoes such as Aedes aegypti which is one of the vectors of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF). This type of research is a literature study using the literature review method. This method is carried out by evaluating, interpreting and explaining the ideas discussed in several studies by searching for sources from the Google Scholar database. The selection of the type of article is based on the year of publication, the article can be accessed in its entirety, and discusses plants as repellents against mosquitoes. Based on research results from several sources, there is a biological prospect as an anti-mosquito agent for anti-mosquito and repellent/repelling power because it contains bioactive compounds, such as alkaloids, saponins, flavonoids, phenols, tannins, steroids and terpenoids. These compounds enter through respiratory contact and digestive/gastric toxins so that mosquitoes experience mortality/death. This compound also blocks chemical receptors (chemoreceptors) found on the palpus and antennae of mosquitoes, so that mosquitoes escape without sucking blood again. It is hoped that this review article can provide information regarding repellent plants as anti-mosquitoes. It can be concluded from the results of the review that there are plants that have repellent power against Aedes aegypti with increased protective power according to the increase in concentration of the plant used, as well as the length of exposure of the extract from each plant to the skin.
