Abstract

Bagasse is waste produced from the process of milking or extracting sugarcane stems. Baggase can be optimized in terms of use value and its function as an alternative technology, namely as an active carbon manufacturing material that can be used as a copper (Cu) adsorbent. This study discusses the functional baggase activated carbon group of phosphoric acid and nitric acid using Fourier Transform Infra Red (FTIR) and its application as a copper metal adsorbent in silver craft waste in Ungga Village, Praya, Central Lombok. The production of activated bagasse carbon consists of three stages, namely first dehydration by burning bagasse until it turns into carbon, the second carbonation is heating at 500ºC, carbon results are 100-200 mesh and third, activation by soaking 50 grams of carbon in 500 mL of 20% phosphoric acid and 20% nitric acid for 12 hours. After that the carbon is dried at 110ºC and finally heated at 500ºC for 1 hour. The bagasse carbon that has been made is put into 25 mL of waste water sample with a mass of 2 grams of adsorbent. Samples were then stirred at 30, 60, 90, 120 and 150 minutes contact time variations at a speed of 180 rpm using a batch system. The optimum contact time that is used to calculate the efficiency of copper metal content reduction is by calculating the difference in the metal content of copper metal before it is adsorbed and after it is adsorbed using activated carbon baggase. Concentrations of all copper metals were analyzed using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS). Identification using FTIR spectrophotometer shows that carbon baggase in this study contains functional groups C = O, C = C, C-C, N = O, C = N, C-OH, CH2 and C-H. From the research it was found that the copper metal content in the sample was 14.5710 ppm. The optimum contact time on copper metal adsorption is at 120 minutes contact time which results in optimum adsorption efficiency on copper metal that is 84.88%. Activated carbon baggase is an effective adsorbent to reduce levels of copper metal in silver craft waste.

Abstract

The objectives of this research are to: 1) determine the effect of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) learning model on cognitive learning outcomes; and 2) to determine the effect of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) learning model on students' scientific literacy. This type of research is a quasi experiment. The research design of pre-test-post-test non equivalent control group design. The population in this study were all class VII students of SMPN 1 Tanjung North Lombok Regency in the academic year 2017/2018 which consisted of 6 classes. The sampling technique used purposive sampling, in order to obtain class VII 3 as the experimental class and class VII 1 as the control class. The instruments used to collect data were multiple choice questions totaling 20 items to measure student cognitive learning outcomes and essay questions to measure content and the scientific context. Meanwhile, worksheets are used to measure the scientific process. The data analysis technique used two-way ANOVA with a significance level of 0.05% using SPSS 16 for Windows. The results showed that: 1) there was an effect of the application of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) learning model on cognitive learning outcomes (p <0.05); and 2) there is an effect of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) learning model on students' scientific literacy (p <0.05).

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan asesmen kinerja dalam meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains dan hasil belajar kognitif siswa kelas VII MTs Darul Hikmah Darek. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 20 siswa kelas VII MTs Darul Hikmah Darek. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) dengan menggunakan dua siklus. Data keterampilan proses sains dikumpulkan menggunakan instrument lembar observasi, sedangkan hasil belajar kognitif siswa dikumpulkan menggunakan instrument tes dengan 20 item soal. Keterlaksanaan pembelajaran juga diukur dalam penelitian ini menggunakan lembar observasi keterlaksanaan (RPP). Data penelitianian dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan (1) keterlaksanaan RPP pada siklus I mencapai 68% dengan kategori baik, sedangkan pada siklus II mencapai 100% dengan kategori sangat baik; (2) keterampilan proses sains pada siklus I mencapai 55% dengan kategori cukup tinggi, dan pada siklus II mencapai 75% dengan kategori tinggi; dan (3) skor rata-rata hasil belajar kognitif siswa pada siklus I mencapai 66 dengan ketuntasan klasikal sebesar 40%, sedangkan siklus II mencapai 77 dengan ketuntasan klasikal sebesar 90%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan asesmen kinerja dapat meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains dan hasil belajar kognitif siswa pada kelas VII MTs Darul Hikmah Darek. The Implementation of Performance Assessment in Biology Practicum Activities to Improve Students' Science Process Skills and Cognitive Learning Outcomes Abstract The purpose of this study was to describe the implementation of performance assessment in improving science process skills and cognitive learning outcomes of seventh grade students of MTs Darul Hikmah Darek. The subjects of this study were 20 grade VII students of MTs Darul Hikmah Darek. This research is a classroom action research (CAR) using two cycles. Science process skills data were collected using an observation sheet instrument, while students' cognitive learning outcomes were collected using a test instrument with 20 items of questions. The implementation of learning was also measured in this study using the implementation observation sheet (RPP). The researcch data were analyzed descriptively. The results showed (1) the implementation of the lesson plans in the first cycle reached 68% in the good category, while in the second cycle it reached 100% in the very good category; (2) science process skills in the first cycle reached 55% in the fairly high category, and in the second cycle it reached 75% in the high category; and (3) the average score of students' cognitive learning outcomes in the first cycle reached 66 with classical completeness of 40%, while the second cycle reached 77 with classical completeness of 90%. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the implementation of performance assessments can improve science process skills and cognitive learning outcomes of students in class VII MTs Darul Hikmah Darek.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengevaluasi keanekaragaman hayati kepiting bakau (Scylla sp.) di kawasan mangrove Pantai Cemara, Lombok Barat, dan menyusun petunjuk praktikum ekologi berdasarkan hasilnya. Penelitian dilakukan di tiga stasiun dengan kondisi lingkungan berbeda, mengidentifikasi empat spesies Scylla dengan total 140 individu: Scylla serrata (47 individu), Scylla tranquebarica (44 individu), Scylla paramamosain (30 individu), dan Scylla olivacea (19 individu). Indeks keanekaragaman Shannon-Wiener menunjukkan keanekaragaman sedang di Stasiun I (H' = 1,217), Stasiun II (H' = 1,294), dan Stasiun III (H' = 1,326), yang mencerminkan stabilitas ekosistem mangrove namun mengindikasikan perlunya konservasi. Hasil penelitian juga digunakan untuk mengembangkan petunjuk praktikum ekologi, yang divalidasi dengan rerata skor 85% (sangat valid) untuk isi, 77% (valid) untuk bahasa, 68% (valid) untuk tampilan, dan 92% (sangat valid) untuk keterbacaan. Petunjuk ini dirancang untuk meningkatkan pemahaman mahasiswa tentang keanekaragaman hayati mangrove dan relevansinya dalam konservasi. Dengan menggunakan data lokal, petunjuk praktikum ini diharapkan dapat menghubungkan teori dengan aplikasi praktis di lapangan serta mendorong keterlibatan aktif dalam upaya pelestarian lingkungan. Diversity Index of Crabs (Scylla Sp) at Cemara Beach as a Basis for Developing an Ecology Practicum Guide Abstract This study evaluates the biodiversity of mangrove crabs (Scylla sp.) in the mangrove ecosystem of Cemara Beach, West Lombok, and develops an ecology practicum guide based on the results. Conducted at three stations with varying environmental conditions, the study identified four Scylla species totaling 140 individuals: Scylla serrata (47 individuals), Scylla tranquebarica (44 individuals), Scylla paramamosain (30 individuals), and Scylla olivacea (19 individuals). The Shannon-Wiener diversity index indicated moderate biodiversity at Station I (H' = 1.217), Station II (H' = 1.294), and Station III (H' = 1.326), reflecting ecosystem stability but also highlighting the need for conservation efforts. The study's findings were used to develop an ecology practicum guide, validated with an average score of 85% (highly valid) for content, 77% (valid) for language, 68% (valid) for visual presentation, and 92% (highly valid) for readability. This guide is designed to enhance students' understanding of mangrove biodiversity and its relevance to conservation. By utilizing local data, the practicum guide is expected to bridge theory with practical field applications and promote active engagement in environmental conservation efforts.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a Sistematika Cryptogamae module based on research findings on the diversity of seaweed species in the waters of Dusun Labuhan Terata, Sumbawa Regency, West Nusa Tenggara. The research was conducted using a development method that refers to the ADDIE Model by Reiser and Mollenda, which includes Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. This study is limited to the Development stage. The research instruments are validation sheets and readability questionnaires. Data analysis is conducted using a descriptive quantitative approach. The validity test results of the Sistematika Cryptogamae module reached 86.6%, categorized as highly feasible. In addition, the readability test results reached 84.4%, categorized as easy to understand. This module was developed using a research-based approach and local environmental context to meet the needs of contextual education. It is expected to enhance students' understanding of the diversity of lower-level plants, particularly seaweed, and to foster awareness of marine ecosystem conservation. This research also contributes to the documentation of biodiversity and the sustainable management of seaweed resources. The conclusion of this study is that the Cryptogamae Systematics module developed is deemed highly suitable for implementation in learning.
