Abstract

The problem sometimes encountered in partnership relations is the implementation of non-mutually beneficial partnerships between the core company and the plasma breeder. This occurs because the company has a stronger bargaining position than the breeder regarding capital, technology, markets, and management. So it is the company that determines the price at the breeder level, and the company also determines the price in the market. This has caused the company to control the price of broiler chickens in markets in Kendari City, thus enabling the development of a cartel to manage broiler chickens from upstream to downstream. In the long run, this research aims to improve the quality of the partnership relationship between companies and breeders in Kendari City. Especially the aims of this study are: 1) to describe the implementation of the partnership that the company is carrying out as the core with the breeder as the plasma, and 2) to analyze the income of the plasma breeder. This research was carried out in August–October 2022, and the research location was in Kendari City, Southeast Sulawesi Province. The sampling technique was a purposive method. The implementation of the partnership between the plasma breeder and the core company was analyzed using descriptive analysis. In contrast, the breeder's income level was analyzed using income analysis and R/C ratio analysis. The results showed that implementing the plasma breeder partnership and the core company was going well per the contract agreement. The income earned by the breeder in 1 production period is IDR 3,637,394, and the R/C ratio is 1,043, which means that the R/C ratio is greater than 1, so that partnership between the plasma breeder and the core company provides benefits for the breeder.

Abstract

The farmer group's success is determined by the management's ability to manage the group and the group member's participation level. The group member's participation in activities organized by farmer groups should start from three stages. There are the planning stage, the implementation stage, and the monitoring stage. This research aimed to determine the group member's participation level in the Waduk Rejo farmer groups. This research was carried out in October 2022 in Wonosoco Village, Undaan District, Kudus Regency. Researchers used a quantitative descriptive research method with primary data types obtained through direct interview techniques with administrators and members of farmer groups. The sampling method was determined using the stratified proportional random sampling method, which consisted of 30 respondents, management, and members of the Waduk Rejo farmer groups. The variables studied were participation variables in the three stages: planning, implementation, and supervision. This study uses a Likert scale as a method of analysis. The findings show that the level of participation of farmer group members is manifested from the activity planning stage, which includes participation in routine farmer group meeting activities, participation in providing advice and input to farmer groups, and participation in preparing work plans of farmer groups which are included in the active category. The implementation phase, which provides for the participation of farmer group activities in the form of irrigation improvements, agricultural infrastructure improvements, and pest control, is included in the active category. The supervision phase, which provides for the supervision of irrigation repair activities, agricultural infrastructure improvement, and pest control, is included in the dynamic type. This research shows that the members of the farmer group have high awareness and concern to develop and advance their farmer group together.

Abstract

Beef cattle farmers in Soko District are still based on prices from intermediary traders because there is no benchmark price from the government, so farmers have a weak bargaining position. The purpose of this research was to determine the level of marketing efficiency of beef cattle in the marketing channel. The study was conducted in Soko District, Tuban Regency, with 60 respondents consisting of 43 breeders, 14 collectors, and three slaughters. The research was conducted from March to June 2022. A sampling of breeders was carried out by purposive sampling, and snowball sampling was carried out to identify the marketing channels. The analysis was done by identifying marketing channels and functions, analyzing marketing margin, farmer's share, marketing efficiency, and profitability index on each marketing channel. The study results showed that there are two models of marketing channels. The first model is called model A, a marketing channel for cattle, and model B, a marketing channel for beef. The marketing channel for the cattle, channel I Model A, is the most efficient. In contrast, the marketing channel for the meat, channel I Model B, is more efficient than Channel II Model B. Based on farmer's share calculations and marketing efficiency, the four marketing channels are efficient because has a farmer's share value of >50% and marketing efficiency of <5%. Breeders are advised to choose the shortest channel in marketing beef cattle. Beef cattle at a young age can be sold through channels I model A and II model A because these channels are already efficient according to margin analysis, farmer's share, marketing efficiency, and profitability index. For beef cattle with mature ages, breeders can sell directly to slaughters such as channel I model B so that breeders can get maximum profits.

Abstract

The score of the expected food pattern, the quantity, variety, and quality of food consumed, can be used to assess a person's eating quality. The fact that Pekanbaru City's PPH score for 2020 is only 84.7 points below the optimal value demonstrates that its citizens' food consumption is not yet varied and nutritionally balanced. This study examines PPH scores for household food consumption among P2L participants and elements that affect the caliber of food consumed in P2L-participating families. This study used a survey methodology, with the respondent number being 65-person total sample chosen via stratified random selection. Analysis of PPH scores for household food consumption in P2L participants used descriptive statistics. In contrast, inferential statistics and multiple linear regression are used to analyze the variables that affect the P2L household food intake PPH score. The results showed that the P2L participant's household food consumption PPH score was 85.4. P2L program increases PPH score in Pekanbaru. The P2L household food consumption PPH score is primarily influenced by age, educational attainment, and family size.

Abstract

Garut Regency produces agricultural and plantation commodities that support the city's and surrounding districts' food needs. On the other hand, Garut Regency is also experiencing a positive population growth rate from 2010 to 2020. This increase in growth rate has implications for several problems, one of which is the increasing land conversion from agricultural land to built-up land. This increase in land use change causes the ability of land to complement plantation commodities to decrease. This study aims to analyze the carrying capacity of plantation land and the variety of commodities in the carrying capacity of plantation land in the surplus category. RTRW and elevation of the carrying capacity of plantation land in Garut Regency using descriptive methods with analysis of land carrying capacity. Surplus and six sub-districts experienced a deficit in the land's carrying capacity, and the tobacco commodity became the leading commodity in all sub-districts. Based on the RTRW and elevation of the carrying capacity of land allotted for plantations, the most extensive is in the Cibalong sub-district, with an area of around 33.97% with a very high surplus category. The location (ha) in the type of reduction to elevation is the highest, with a spread between 250-2000 masl in Bungbulang District. This research is hoped to be used as material input in land policies in Garut Regency regarding regional planning and plantation commodities.

Abstract

Perceptions play a crucial role in the adoption of innovation, particularly in the context of organic farming practices. This study aimed to explore farmer perceptions and factors influencing their perceptions of organic coffee innovation in Robusta coffee cultivation in West Lampung Regency. The research was conducted from December 2022 to January 2023, with a sample of 59 respondents from three farmer groups: Ampera, Langgeng Mulyo, and Margo Rahayu. Using a questionnaire and non-parametric statistical analysis, including the Rank Spearman correlation test, the study found significant relationships between farmer knowledge, availability of capital, social interaction, and marketing with their perceptions of organic coffee innovation. However, land area, length of farming, and selling price did not show significant relationships. These findings highlight the importance of enhancing farmer knowledge and providing adequate capital support, facilitating social interactions, and improving marketing strategies to promote the adoption of organic Robusta coffee cultivation. The government's attention to market development and pricing mechanisms for organic Robusta coffee can further incentivize farmers to engage in this sustainable agricultural practice.

Abstract

Plantations in the East Kolaka region are no longer productive, leading to a decline in production and even no production. The community has made their plantation land more effective to increase production output. This initiative has led to plans to change the use of plantation land into paddy fields in the region, supported by the government through the construction of the Ladongi dam. This change in land use has led to varying views and responses from each farmer. This study aims to understand the farmers' reactions to the change in land use from plantation land to paddy fields in East Kolaka. The population involved consists of all 39 farmers who have changed their land use from plantation to rice fields, and using the census method, 39 farmers were obtained as research samples. Data were collected from surveys, direct interviews with farmers, and literature from related agencies.
