Abstract

Biology as a branch of science is a process and a product. The process referred to here is the process through scientific work, while the products are concepts, principles, principles, theories and laws. Laboratory media is a course that is closely related to these activities. This course is worth 3 credits, with details of 2 credits of face-to-face in class and 1 credit of practicum in the Laboratory. So far, lecturers have never identified all indicators of science process skills that appear during laboratory media practicum activities. Assessment of reports and students' scientific work skills has been carried out, but has not been equipped with relevant assessment instruments, so that the science process skills that students already have have not been properly identified. This study aims to determine students' science process skills in laboratory media courses through demonstration learning methods. This study is a type of pre-experimental research, with a research design using the one-shot case study design. The subjects in this study were students of the Biology Education Study Program, Faculty of Science, Engineering, and Applied Sciences, Mandalika University of Education who programmed laboratory media courses in the even semester of the 2023/2024 academic year. The type of data collected is science process skills data and student responses. The instruments used are for science process skills observation sheets and science process skills tests, while for student response data using questionnaires. Data analysis uses quantitative descriptive. The results of this study by calculating the observation sheets of students' science process skills, the data obtained are in the form of several categories of science process skills, including 23 students have a percentage of achievement of science process skills, with the category Very good (15.86%), as many as 39 students are in the category Good (26,90%), as many as 72 students have the category Enough (48,96%), and as many as 12 students have the category less (8,27%).

Abstract

The use of innovative learning media can increase students' interest in learning a material. One interesting solution that can be applied is the use of experiential learning models. This study aims to analyze the use of experiential learning models in increasing the interest in learning of class X students at SMA Negeri 8 Mataram in biology subjects. This study uses the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method. This Classroom Action Research was carried out in two cycles, with each cycle consisting of four stages, namely planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data collection techniques were in the form of questionnaires. The results of the study showed that in cycle I, the average student interest in learning reached 81%, this is included in the category of very high student interest in learning when using the experiential learning model. While in cycle II, the average student interest in learning reached 83%, this is included in the category of very high student interest in learning when using the experiential learning model. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of experiential learning models contributes significantly to increasing students' interest in learning biology at SMA Negeri 8 Mataram.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students' skills through the application of inquiry learning models to class X MIPA students at MA Swasta Darul Hijroh in the 2024/2025 academic year in mathematics. This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR). The research was carried out in two cycles consisting of planning, implementing actions, observing, and reflecting. The population in this study were all class X MIPA students at MA Swasta Darul Hijroh. The sampling technique used was saturated sampling or total sampling which is a sampling technique with all members of the population being sampled, and class X MIPA was obtained as a sample in the study. The data collection technique used a skills observation rubric. The results of data analysis showed that the application of the inquiry learning model increased the average value of students' skills in mathematics, which was 60 in cycle I to 84 in cycle II in the very good category. Thus, it can be concluded that the application of the inquiry learning model can improve students' skills in mathematics for class X MIPA at MA Swasta Darul Hijroh.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine students' learning motivation in mathematics learning in senior high schools. This study uses a quantitative method because the data processed is ratio data, and the focus of this study is to analyze students' learning motivation towards mathematics lessons at SMA Idhata Banjarmasin. The population in this study were students of SMA Idhata Banjarmasin. The sample used was class XI. The research instrument used a questionnaire containing statements with the aim of seeing students' learning motivation in mathematics subjects. Descriptive data analysis techniques to determine students' learning motivation from the results of the questionnaire data. The results of the study based on the Guttman scale showed that out of 24 students in class XI of SMA Idhata Banjarmasin, there were 22 students who had a "high" level of mathematics learning motivation, and 2 others had a "quite high" level of mathematics learning motivation. Thus, the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. The conclusion of this study is that there is student learning motivation with a fairly high and high level towards mathematics learning at SMA Idhata Banjarmasin.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the implementation of the discussion based learning model on students' communication skills. This study was conducted in class XI of SMA Negeri 5 Maluku Tengah in the even semester of the 2023/2024 academic year, with 47 students as respondents. This type of research is a quasi-experiment using two classes, namely the experimental class and the control class. The experimental class uses a discussion based learning model, while the control class uses a conventional learning model. The instrument used in this study was an observation sheet. Data analysis of communication skills used a 5-point Likert scale with categories of very low, low, medium, high, and very high. Based on the results of the analysis of the communication skills observation sheet that had been carried out, an average value of communication skills was obtained of 69% with a high category. The implication of this study is that the discussion based learning model can be an alternative to improve students' communication skills.

Abstract

Early childhood language skills are an important aspect of development that plays a role in the process of communication, learning, and socialization. However, based on initial observations at Raudhatul Athfal Nurul Islam Seresam, there are still many children aged 5-6 years who have difficulty in listening and speaking, such as limited vocabulary, unclear pronunciation, and low participation in communication. This study aims to determine the implementation of the storytelling method through visual media and its impact on improving early childhood language skills in the aspects of listening and speaking. The research method used is the Classroom Action Research (CAR) model of Kemmis and McTaggart which was carried out in two cycles. The subjects of the study consisted of 18 students in group B at Raudhatul Athfal Nurul Islam Seresam. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed descriptively quantitatively and qualitatively. The results of the study showed that the application of the storytelling method through visual media was able to improve children's language skills. The percentage of development achievement increased from 39% in the pre-cycle to 60% at the end of Cycle I, and reached 85% at the end of Cycle II. This shows that the storytelling method with the support of visual media is effective in strengthening children's listening and speaking skills. Thus, it can be concluded that the storytelling method through visual media can be implemented as a strategy in learning to improve the language skills of early childhood, and is able to create a fun and communicative learning atmosphere.
