Principally, this research attempts to analyze the anxiety disorder on the main character of novel TheWoman In The Window by A. J. Finn. The objective of this study to find out 1) To investigate the causes ofanxiety disorder through to the main character in the novel based on the psychoanalytic approach bySigmund Freud. 2) To explain how the treatmentsdone by the main character to reduce her anxietydisorder in the novel and 3) To explain the reasons for the treatmentsdone by the main character in thenovel. The writer used qualitative design method in analyzing the data that focused on the textual data. Theinstruments for collecting data are readingtechnique, and writing technique. This research analyzesbyrelating the data with Freud™sPsychoanalysis theory. The results of theresearch show that 1) The causesanxiety disorder to the main character because have an accident in the past that make the sufferer becomestress, and post-traumatic stress disorder. 2) There are two treatments done by the main character toreduce her anxiety disorder that is medication and therapy. 3) The reasons for the treatments done by maincharacter because with healing through therapy and medication will be able to reduce the traumaexperienced by Anna Fox.

This study tended to find out the kinds of signs, the realizations of sign and the reasons of signs were found in Parasite film. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach. The data of the study were taken from Parasite film™s scene. The source of the data was Parasite film downloaded from Bioskop XXI. The result of the study showed that this film contained 33 semiotic signs. The data were analysed by using Peirce (1993). The result of the study found 10 icons, 17 indices and 6 symbols in Parasite film. The signs found in Parasite are realized in individual and social relations. The reason for signs used in Parasite were to identify visual signs, to show cause and effect, and to communicate metaphorical and non-metaphorical expressions.

This study aimed at analyzing the types of positive politeness strategy of the main character which represented in On the Basis of Sex movie. The descriptive qualitative method used to gain the findings of the data. The video recording used to gain transcription from the movie was the source of the data. From that findings, the data found were 90 utterances spoken by Ruth as the main character of the movie. And from those utterances, 29 represented as Positive Politeness which was 32,2%. The forms of positive politeness, Ruth represented 27 forms of positive politeness, with Question was the most dominant type of all with 8 amounts (29%), followed by Request 7 (26%), Disagreement with 6 (22%), Suggestion with 4 (15%) amount, and Rejection and Chasetisement shared 1 (4%). Thus, the writer found that positive politeness in the movie often emerged because the theme was about law school, court room, and national administration.

The research discussed identityconstruction built in the movie of Parasite through the nonverbal behaviors aspect. The aims of this study were to find out the types of identity construction reflected through non-verbal behaviors, how the identity reflected in the movie, and to find out the reasons of the emergence of identity construction in the movie. The descriptive qualitative method is being used in this research, and the data were derived from the Parasite movie™s screenshot. The findings of the study showed that: (1) There are three identities found they are person identities, role identities, and social identities. (2) The identity construction reflected through non-verbal behaviors are object, accessories, smells/body odor. (3) The significance of identity construction emergence in the movie is to shows that every detail used in people daily can form an identity, and because movies are one of the products that people consume the most, then this becomes very helpful in showing the realities of real life.

This study aimed to identifying the types of hate speech based on Mondal (2018) and the intentions of hate speech based on Kreidler (2002) in the comment section of Joe Biden™s Instagram posts. This study was conducted by applying descriptive qualitative method with thematic analysis. The source of the data is the hate comments from Joe Biden™s Instagram posts from 3rd November to 10th. The results of this research showed the classification of hate speech and the categorization of intentions of hate speech. From 150 data it was found there were 7 types out of 10 types of hate speech, they are 1 comment for type of Race, 57 comments for Behavior, 17 comments for Physical, 1 comment for Gender, 2 comments for Sexual Orientation, 6 comments for Disability and 66 comments for Other. However, for the intentions of hate speech, all comments contain all intentions that can be categorized. The intention that dominantly found is Insulting, Accusing, Mocking, Insinuating and Blaming.

Semiotic analysis of gender representation on printed advertisements used in œSWEDISH magazine. The objectives of this study were to identify the element and colour of symbol used in Gender representation in printed advertisement of œSwedish magazine. The study was conducting by using descriptive qualitative method. The data of the study were obtained from the Magazine in Sweden the Swedish version of Cosmopolitan Magazine Advertisement which consisted of some pictures. The data analysis were taken downloading, looking for, describing and explaining the data. The data were analyze based on the theory by Wells, Burnett, and Moriaty about element and colour of symbol in printed advertisement. The findings indicted that there were consisted of the element and colour of symbol in printed advertisement, there were the first element of symbol in advertising layout for example (figure 4.1) this advertisement was a symbolize confident characteristic with the logotypes brand the picture, advertising content for example (figure 4.3) the meaning of this advertisement was found if you wear products from Chanel you will look closed and cold because this advertisement was product centered format which was the case of fashion advertising means price information. The second colour of symbol in colour association for example (figure 4.5) the meaning of this advertisement was clear water and clear sky blue which symbolizes nature, freshness and tranquility, logotype colour for example (figure 4.7) the meaning of this advertisement the red H&M logotype or brand text that symbolizes logotypes or logos to attract brand attention, body colour for example (figure 4.9) the meaning in this advertisement white is the body colour or common object colour in advertisements that symbolizes the art in the layout of the advertisement, colour contrast for example (figure 4.11) the meaning of this advertisement it looks like it has a light background which is white, which symbolizes art in the advertisement. The finding of this study hoped for useful resource for the development of semiotic study toward commercial works.

The focus of this study was to analyze the types of imagery that represented unrequited love in the five selected song lyrics based on Billie Eilish™s life background. The five selected songs were œWish you were gay, œ8, œHostage, œMy boy, and œYour Power. This study applied the theory imagery of Perrine™s theory and Kennedy and Gioia™s biographical approach. The qualitative content analysis was employed as the method in this study. The data were the five selected song lyrics and the life background of Billie Eilish. The source of data taken from transcript lyrics and the interviews also documentary of Billie Eilish. The researcher found there were five types of imagery found in the song lyrics. They were visual imagery (15), auditory imagery (2), tactile imagery (1), kinesthetic imagery (7), and organic imagery (8). Billie Eilish experienced three categories of unrequited love: crush on someone who is unavailable, pursuing the love object, and unequal love relationship portrayed in the five selected songs. Billie Eilish™s life background greatly influenced her song lyrics, starting with her depression and suicidal thought, her unique fashion style, and herself as a drug-free teenager.

This study is about audience response of working women in Hidden Figures Movie which is aimed to reveal the response of the audience about working women in Hidden Figures Movie. This study used the reader-response theory by Rosenblatt (1982). Data were analyzed by using interpretative qualitative method. the interview sheet is used as the instrument to find out the valid data. The study showed varied responses toward the working women in Hidden Figures Movie. The response of the audience is classified into two categories; positive and negative. The finding of this study showed that all the audience response is a positive response. It shows that all the response is support the women who work and having a career. There are the difference between female response and male response toward working women in Hidden Figures Movie where male audience believed that there should be a limitation for married women to work. The difference also shows that the opinion is came from different brain, and absolutely with different thought.

This research aims were to describe the types of presupposition used by the Parhata in Batak Toba wedding ceremony and to reveal the realization of presupposition in Parhata™s spoken words in Batak Toba wedding ceremony based on Yule™s framework (2000). In this study the researcher adapted textual analysis (Mc Kee, 2013) to analyze the data. The sources of the data were two videos of wedding ceremonies of Batak Toba. The data were taken from the script of Parhata™s spoken words during the wedding ceremonies. The current research findings showed that the existential presupposition was dominantly used in Parhata™s spoken words. As the mediator and informant in the wedding ceremony, Parhata tended to utter in positive statements. The realization of presupposition types in Parhata™s utterances was recognized according to the theme of presupposition in Yule™s framework. Moreover, the six types of presupposition found in the current research although the findings from wedding ceremony video one and wedding ceremony video two as following; 40 existential presuppositions, five factive presuppositions, two non-factive presuppositions, four lexical presuppositions, one structural presupposition and two counterfactual presuppositions. The realization of presupposition types in Parhata™s utterances was identified by the characteristics of each presupposition, such as mentioning an entity or stating contrary to the fact.

The objectives of this study were to find out 1) To found out what types of verbal irony used in the novel, 2) To found out the literal meaning of the verbal irony, 3) To found out the realization of the verbal irony. The source of data was the novel, and the data were taken from the dialogue in the novel. The study conducted by using qualitative research. The data were analyzed by using Sperber and Wilson™s theory to classify the types of verbal irony. There were 13 data found and there were two types of verbal irony used in the novel spoken by the two main characters. The types were ironical understatement (92%) and ironical interjection (8%). The literal meaning and the realization of the verbal irony were known based on the context in the dialogue.
